Some advice needed to get a Type O visa
DrJack54 replied to localexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are over simplifying few things. Just one example is to use monthly income (without embassy letter) would need to show 12 months of transfers. To obtain a non O in Thailand he would need 15 days+ remaining on his permit . At this point not sure what he has. A non O obtained in consulate outside of Thailand does not require 800k . -
Nonj O transfer to new passport
DrJack54 replied to beammeup's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How long is shortly. You should have already obtained passport renewal and transfer your current extension stamp and information regarding your non O. Then you just apply for new extension as per normal. I believe passport renewals are currently taking quite some time. Why does your pp expire along with your permission of stay? -
Your bank will best advise. They can give you a "credit advice" that will show what is required. I have seen the doc Bangkok Bank provides. Will try and find it and post. The "bank letter" is simply a statement that contains balance on day you request it and more importantly states that you are the owner of the account. The bank will know what you need for immigration.

Some advice needed to get a Type O visa
DrJack54 replied to localexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can obtain a non O retirement inside Thailand from a tourist visa entry or visa exempt entry. It's not clear what you have. No such thing as a retirement visa. How did you last enter Thailand meaning what type of visa or visa exempt. Or perhaps you are in Thailand on extensions? Not clear from your posts. Which stamp were you given on last entry? What permission of stay -
Some advice needed to get a Type O visa
DrJack54 replied to localexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can obtain a non O retirement inside Thailand OR you can obtain in nearby consulate such as Vientiane etc. Choice depends on where you are located in Thailand -
In other words you would have ended up also needing to obtain a 60 day extension. As for your personal experience of obtaining a non O in NZ.... Who cares. Has no relevance to the op situation. Obtaining the non O in Thailand is a very common and apart from this particular office and moreso the nutter immigration officer it's an easy process.

Guess that rules out throwing ashes into sea or river in your book. You are just another thinking that they know what's "the right way" to do things.

First retirement application.
DrJack54 replied to rohitsuk's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Perhaps if I explain it simply. The OP starts a thread. The gist is that he used an agent and has concerns about the length of time the process is taking. It seems (by his answer) that he provided his own funds, which doesn't really matter but does explain the timeline. I have advised him as such regarding his situation. Any comments about DIY is better etc has zero to do with the thread. Many crusaders on AseanNow. -

Had zero to do with OP question which I have covered already. Every time someone posts a question re agents the head bangers come into play. -

Sounds like the non O will be issued and after 60 days your extension stamp will be put into pp. Don't worry about your tourist visa expiry. All good. -

Residence cert @embassy, TM30 online
DrJack54 replied to RoyLee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't really follow your post. At the embassy (my understanding) is that it is more a statuary declaration. Even if evidence is asked for a TM30 or lease etc most likely sufficient. You cannot obtain a residence certificate in Bangkok immigration unless you have filed a 90 day report. The residence certificate from immigration would take approx a week and sent via EMS mail. Assume you require for transport matter. If it's to open bank account an agent would be better option. -
Read the title again. The question is about can you do a 90 day report in another province. Answer YES but you would have to do an address change to where you wanted to file the 90 report. Having done that you would need to do another change of address when you return to your usual address. This came up maybe 6 months ago and some fool that was in Rayong on holiday and insisted on doing the reports in person so did a change of address to Rayong then when returned to Bangkok had to do another change of address. Ridiculous.
-
Your missing the point. The slightly confusing thing now since June 2020 is that filing a TM30 is also for change of address. If someone is away from their usual address in another province they would need to do change of address to that province in order to file a 90 day report. Then repeat that when they return to where they live. All of which would be crazy as 90 reports can be done online and via mail from anywhere in Thailand. End of chit chat on this.
-
When you register most people hit change password for a more personal one. You will notice no TM6 space for number. Not required. Be careful with the address. Needs to be same as what was used previously on the reports. After you have successfully done one....then in future after you fill in first fields (Name and Passport #) you dont need to fill in the rest. Hit magnifying glass icon and then rest of data such as address etc is filled in automatically. The system also sends out a reminder email 15 days prior to next due date. I always fill that in straight away. It's a bomb.

Bank letter for retirement extension.
DrJack54 replied to rutteketuut's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Recall this asked previously. Pretty sure it needs to be printed by the bank. This is specific to Bangkok Bank. -
That doesn't cut it The fact that if folk travel about and book into a hotel in another province and that hotel does a TM30 does not mean that the person can waltz into that local immigration office and do a 90 day report. They need use the TM30 as change of address. Then once back to where they actually live do another change of address. That would be crazy.

OP, you could do a border bounce if required. Inconvenient. I just completed an eVisa to Vietnam so I will certainly check the details when it's approved..
