  1. Everyone has a current permission of stay (unless on overstay). It has "admitted till" date. A reentry permit also has a an "until date". That date matching your POS. You can exit and return. When you hand your old and new pp to the immigration officer have the page clearly displayed with reentry permit. The officer will stamp you in to that date.
  2. OP, aside: remember to update details of your new pp with your bank. Obviously prior to next extension.
  3. The 400k two months prior to application is for extension. For the non O visa, the 400k needs to be in bank on the day you apply.
  4. Not all embassies provide "letter". Oz embassy being one eg. There is a form available for request transfer. As for your 90 report, you could do online using old pp details or via mail..
  5. Visas are not transferred however the information about the visa is written into new pp. OP, the reason the agent is saying the stamps cannot be transfered is they most likely were obtained up country. My guess KK..That is where the stamps would need to be transfered. I suggest that you travel with both passports.
  6. The non O gives you 90 day permission of stay. You can apply for 12 month extension up to 30 days prior to expiry and at some office eg CW and CM 45 days prior
  7. You state 400k so your obtaining an extension based on marriage. There is an under consideration period and that often starts from when your current permit ends. BTW some immigration offices require you to maintain the 400k in bank during that period.
  8. You have misunderstood the OP. To change from money in bank to income method he would need to show 12 months of transfers.
  9. Extensions are 1900 baht. Reentry permits are separate. 1000baht single and 3800 multiple reentry permit. Insurance is not required for extensions from a non O. Insurance is required for extensions retirement from a non O-A.
  10. Thanks. Wasn't aware that a year coverage ME was available. That will certainly suit some folk. Thinking the 650b 30 day cover will hardly change if at all.
  11. I meant main office in that area not a shopping mall branch.
  12. She went with him to "vouch" for him as per an item listed on requirements from Bangkok Bank. This take along an existing customer or a "respected" Thai is hit and miss at best. Even moreso in Bangkok. Been there done that.
  13. From OP earlier post........ ".i have to laugh my Thai manager friend was stressed after just going to two banks trying to help me open an account yesterday mind you i had the pleasure of doing the circuit twice at immigration then checking 4 branches of banks in the basement there for like 5 hrs"
  14. I just saw your thread (mod may end up merging the two). Horrible situation for you and guessing many others. Hope you obtain a solution. Changing flights is often very costly if tickets were budget and don't allow flight change.
  15. As mentioned by uj.....skip the visa. Enter visa exempt. To apply for the non O you will require the 800k in your Thai bank on the day you apply. You can have all that in place. BTW..The requirements you mention , police report etc sound like non O-A. In any event not important.
  16. What's the plan? Try the existing TP with current requirements or obtain the Pass over the weekend 30, 31. Edit: just saw the "Arrival" May 1. So you have a TP currently?
  17. Wasn't aware of that. That's just plain crazy. Once again not thought through clearly by those in charge of these matters. I was dismissive of the thread as just assumed that you could obtain the TP NOW for entries in May. Clearly you would lose small amount on insurance (probably won't even change the premium) . Then the Test and Go requirements ie hotel, transport etc could be cancelled with full refund. I see your dilemma.
  18. He needs to use money in bank method. Provide funds himself or use agent. He could use income method for next extension transferring the 65k+ each month.. Not really possible for him to use income method for the first non O and extension.
  19. He could try open the account himself. Try Kasikorn first. Otherwise there are plenty of agents in Udon. Bit unrelated.....I also am on extensions retirement and do not use an agent as is an easy process using money in bank. Having said that my longer term plan when age becomes a factor I will switch to agent. Which nationality is passport? Ask because income method re ubonjoe post earlier.
  20. There is currently couple of threads re "opening Bank account". It is not simple on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry, especially in Bangkok where a residence certificate most likely required by the bank. Given time frame and age of friend he should contact an agent to open bank account. Approx cost 5k Where is he located.
  21. He would need to use money in bank method to obtain a non O and that is 800k in bank on the day he applies. That gives a 90 day stamp and in last 30 he can apply for annual extension. If all that is impossible he could use an agent. Where is he located. When does his current permission of stay end. He could obtain a 30 extension if more time to organize is required. Obviously he already has a Thai bank account?
  22. That's correct no covid available as you entered with non O. Your son being 8 is a bonus as previous posts have pointed out. Seems you just need a tidy up with some paperwork. Are there agents in your area to assist with organization of paperwork. You have the required funds in bank so agent shouldn't cost a lot..
  23. OP, you arrived visa exempt. Have you considered trying for a covid extension. Best to keep the 60 to visit wife up your sleeve. You will apply at IT sq Laski
