  1. Excellent report. Not. Keep up the informative posts. "Got mine at CNX" Go what? A covid extension as per the thread. You do realize CNX is an airport?
  2. I always was of the opinion that BritTim is a sensible guy. As stated earlier I think one more "grace period"(CE) will see out the necessity for covid extensions. Perhaps egg on my face if not continued after 25 next week. Crazy imo if not continued.
  3. Don't need to. What was put into the gazette didn't provide exact reasons for obtaining covid extension. As your aware some modifications were introduced on Jan 26 to exclude those that entered on non O. We will see by the end of next week. IMO covid extensions will continue. And the reason why?......take a stab.
  4. Not really as they are unrelated. Which office did a 90 report for you when you applied for extension. Edit: just saw your reference to Phuket.
  5. Firstly if he had a tourist visa he would have obtained covid extension at CW. Think you mean visa exempt entry. If it was his first extension he would be made to obtain standard 30 day extension to his visa exempt entry.
  6. He obtained a 60 day covid extension. That 60 days starts for expiry of his current extension. Some immigration offices were dating the first CE from day of application. This is not his first.. His extension dates from April 8 and that takes him to approx June 9..
  7. Thanks for input. At a guess that would be costly.. If was opting for that I would just put in new kitchen. Bit unrelated but someone looked today and hooked up a one year lease. Good deal for them. So now it's just up to finish off upgrade. Will post a full breakdown of costs when finished in a week and a bit. Might be helpful to some.
  8. My sentiments exactly. Just remember the old adage. ..... Misery Loves Company.
  9. Not Finished. Thought would be obvious. Thai guy doing the job with son and 2 other blokes. His name Kun Wee. Yes I'm aware how to crop photos. Thanks for the valuable input.
  10. That's exactly correct. You would need to meet the same requirements as someone without a PE. Think you will find in near future things will relax regarding travel. Hold tight and travel in near future to los. Edit: op, you may not be aware of agents such as ThaiVisaCentre that assist with paperwork to travel to Thailand. You still need to upload some docs to them but it's an option.
  11. How old? PE (elite visa) is a great option for younger folk not eligible for non O retirement. Waste of dosh if over 50 imo. 600k for 5 years...Nup. Better off with 800k in a Thai bank and have agent assist you with extensions.
  12. Not really. Generally the io would not be interested in your 90 day report. True some offices ask for 90 report receipt for extensions. Don't know why. If was mentioned by io just state that you did it via mail and awaiting your receipt.
  13. Update might be helpful to anyone doing makeover. So settlement March 10. The workers started March 15. Incredibly fast. I guess team of 4 helps. Unpleasant job. Remove all wall paper and repaint. Remove all floor tiles. Tile floor. Obviously that includes removal of all skirting and replace. Install vanity and washing machine set up. Prepare and pant all kitchen cupboard doors. Price includes floor "glue" and paint. Remove and install curtail rods 3. Miscellaneous works. Installation on granite kitchen bench. Disposal of all waste such as tiles etc etc. Minor things such as drain connection, electric hob connection etc etc. Total 61k. Extras: Granite bench top 8k.
  14. There was recent report along the lines of what your stating. The 90 report "next date" was given up to the end of permit. I don't believe that's the norm. I would do the report and if something silly happens just do another at same time as your next extension.
  15. I would have sat there and not said one word. Rule #1 never sidetrack an immigration officer when they are in process of granting an extension. Good news on straight forward extension. As it should be..
  16. Appreciate your post and the info that the graphic outlines. You can rest assured that your METV will be approved.
  17. Ok so that rules out obtaining non O and extension. You have option to use agent for that visa and extension. Where do you plan to obtain a METV? Think your options are clear assuming this starts after borders are open and entry requirements to Thailand and surrounding countries minimal.
  18. What are you planning to do after your expiry of permit, April 7? In any event just do the report. Online is not difficult.
  19. Your reason is for tourism. That's it. I was under the impression that METV can only be obtained in home country or country where you are a permanent resident.
  20. @audaciousnomad thanks for post requirements for Cambodia. Are you aware of similar info for Vietnam?
  21. OP, with 2 years of covid we are soon to be in uncharted waters. Some folk here now for couple of years with amnesty and covid extensions will soon be flying out of Thailand hopeful to return visa exempt. As yet not enough reports of exit to perhaps Phnom Penh (for example) and return. The few I've read were obtaining a visa. In one case a non O. Others intending to obtain tourist visa. Given your history can't see why you could not enter visa exempt.
  22. Pretty much. And when land borders are open (at least some) then covid extensions would not be necessary. Over the chit chat. Ignore.
