  1. Yep have read about these backwater offices. Which one. Care to share. They need kick up the backside. Do they check for TM30 when you do your extension. Should not be required.
  2. Rules regarding TM30 requirements changed. You are no longer required to file tm30 if returning to your usual residence after inter province and international travel. So you can stop doing that.
  3. I don't use agents or have a PE. I do extensions and over period of 10 years have found immigration officers very pleasant and requirements minimal. 90 reports via mail. Simple process. In fact same could be said for my experience obtaining drivers license and recently obtaining my vaccination shots and in general dealing with life in Thailand. People helpful and friendly.
  4. Have no idea what your point is. Yes I could earn money with the 800k by having it in shares. Depends on your financial situation. I don't need to look at opportunity cost of having money in a bank. The 800k goes to my partner when I fall off perch along with much more. 800k baht is $32,000 aud. Hardly sheep stations when a good Car would cost more.
  5. You need letter from bank. They should be familiar with what is required. It basically confirms that you are the owner of the bank account and also shows balance. I prefer to obtain it on same day that I attend immigration, however few days early is acceptable at most immigration office. Also update your bank book by making a transaction on day of application. I took a picture of my letter in case this question arose but think I trashed it. Ubonjoe has posted sample bank letter in a thread. Will try find it.
  6. OP, how long do you hope to visit Thailand and when are you planning the trip. The covid extensions will almost certainly be extended. If you come late Nov you could arrive visa exempt. That gives you 30 days and with 30 day extension you will then be able to obtain covid extension towards end of January. That would give you another 2 months. Effectively remain till late March. Hopefully after that some land borders will be open. Indeed if you only want 3 month stay then obtain a SETV and extension. 60+30. BTW if you travel visa exempt you will require insurance for only 30 days.
  7. For heaven's sake. I do the transfers myself online. You have distracted the thread enough. The OP asked about a transfer of 800k your suggestion would be worst possible option.
  8. Can lead a horse to water...... Folk that transfer funds from home country to Thailand do it from anywhere with online internet banking. Naturally they use companies such as Wise. Keep an eye on the OP. He wanted to transfer 800k baht. Not huge but no one would do that using a bank.
  9. Think you might like to compare with dedicated transfer institutions such as Wise (formally Transferwise) etc.
  10. Don't understand what your suggesting. Surely not to have your home country bank transfer the funds?
  11. Yes that's the one. I put it down to error. Surely would not be widely possible.
  12. Thats exactly what was posted in unrelated thread. Bloke returning got a minimum insurance policy to match his bogus flight out. Think it was for 14 days. Had a much longer stamp into Thailand with reentry permit. Think non B. Think might have been @PoorSucker perhaps he could clarify. Might have incorrect poster. In any event seems like crazy 'loophole'
  13. Then yes Mueang Thong Thani. You will see the taxis. You go up one flight. If you need some photocopies can do ground floor. Try to avoid that. Can be busy. BTW if your obtaining that soon be aware that you might want to go again shortly prior to Nov 27 to obtain 60 day covid extension. Also 1900 baht
  14. Did you enter Thailand visa exempt. If yes you obtain extension at MTT. Your address is correct.
  15. Perfect. Make sure you attend immigration prior to Nov 27. Perhaps Monday 22 and obtain new covid extension. Starting from Dec 7 should take you through till early February. If they extend the availability of covid extensions (they will) you could do same thing late Jan for another extension.
  16. When does your current permission expire. Which date in Dec
  17. Ask owner to file a TM30. If refuses then you could stay a night in hotel prior to attending immigration. Obviously you would check with them that they can and will register a TM30.
  18. Yes you would need a TM30. If staying at hotel ask them to give you screenshot of the filing of TM30 and take that with you to CM immigration.
  19. You mean your extension ends Dec. Which date. Currently covid extensions will cease to be issued after Nov 27. Many think their issue will be continued. You could try and obtain a new 60 day covid extension just prior to Nov 27. That 60 day extension should commence when your current permit expires
  20. Neither. I prefer logic. Different financials for marriage vs retirement extensions has no logical basis. As usual everyone has their own opinion.
