  1. I will keep my location quiet but none of that where I live
  2. Drinking my Guinness in Issaan, more fool you if you choose to live your life in Tourist cities/towns
  3. The Guinness is just as good and cheaper. 150baht for fried rice!! They have seen you coming. If I want to be a cheap Charlie I can eat for 50 baht with toppings. Western food if you know where to go 170-250 baht, every bit has good as you can get back in blighty
  4. I have half a ream of signed paperwork by the Tessabarn to say if my wife dies before me they can't kick me out of the house also the yearly tax on my house is my name solely on the property (not the land)
  5. This year will be interesting, mine is nearly 5 years old but they did visit my home last year
  6. As far as I am aware it's permanently valid unless you go out of the country or move address
  7. Everyone pays for sex, everywhere. If you don't take your wife girlfriend out for meal, buy here presents you don't get your end away. FACT
  8. Rarely go to bars nowadays but if I do, I just say to lady would you like a drink or a 100 Baht to sit and talk to me for a while. Win, Win lady always says 100 baht. Two reasons for her money straight away and more money for her
  9. No doubt some on here will be disappointed that she wasn't British
  10. I never give a tip for bad food/service at restaurant. Why would you? By the way I had a business in the UK
  11. Personally speaking as a British, I firmly believe in that is where you are/were brought up in your own country has lot today with your attitude. People from major/inner cities are completely different to people brought up in rural communities (whichever country that is) JMHO
  12. I only have a problem with people from a certain country (European) and it certainly is not the British
  13. If the service is good, I tip. With the cashless society on the horizon, tipping could well become the thing of the past
  14. In my honest opinion it is just a shifting of wealth. I suggested this on a forum in my local paper in the UK. I was ridiculed for this
  15. It is the same in the city I live which is also non touristy. Majority of people who live in Phuket/Pattaya only know about life there. If people want to know about real Thai life then you will not find it in those places
  16. Many places. Lotus, 7-11, Big C, Global. I have been chatted up by girls in all these
  17. It is the same as immigration different province different rules
  18. It effected my friends travel/holiday massively
  19. You WILL pay. When you come to tax your vehicle your bill will be waiting
  20. Thought that would be pretty obvious? Water is the answer and when I was in a top private Bangkok Hospital the surgeon/doctor confirmed this
  21. When I mixed Thai and English in one sentence it used to send my wife crazy, hence we are longer together so I suppose that was a good thing๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„
  22. Depends where you live. Tourist destinations no. In normal towns and villages yes. 3/4 years ago I was having a drink at a beach bar in Phuket and struck up a conversation with a waiter and waitress and they were amazed I could speak Thai, we were laughing and joking and the tourists were staring, probably they were also amazed
  23. My friend was there 4 months ago, he said Philippines has gone backwards since last he was there. Probably not recovered from Covid as yet
