  1. You WILL pay. When you come to tax your vehicle your bill will be waiting
  2. Thought that would be pretty obvious? Water is the answer and when I was in a top private Bangkok Hospital the surgeon/doctor confirmed this
  3. When I mixed Thai and English in one sentence it used to send my wife crazy, hence we are longer together so I suppose that was a good thing😄😄
  4. Depends where you live. Tourist destinations no. In normal towns and villages yes. 3/4 years ago I was having a drink at a beach bar in Phuket and struck up a conversation with a waiter and waitress and they were amazed I could speak Thai, we were laughing and joking and the tourists were staring, probably they were also amazed
  5. My friend was there 4 months ago, he said Philippines has gone backwards since last he was there. Probably not recovered from Covid as yet
  6. Same in Loei on Thursday, roofs blown off houses

    Allergies

What I am about to say may make you laugh. I went to the doctor because I had a pain all down my left hand side and irritation of the eyes. After a few tests it appears I had an allergy to rain which disturbs the pollen. A dose of tablets did the trick never have had it again
  8. You can please some people some of the time but not all people all of the time
  9. Songkran is everywhere in Thailand. Pattaya is probably the most craziest, in my city where it is not touristy they do not have water guns and normally only lasts 3 days
  10. Had both my eyes done two years ago (one week apart). Surgeon told me different quality of lenses, hence different prices, go for standard lens, you may still need reading glasses with bifocals 1) Painless 2) Drops in eyes, every 10-15 mins for one hour before op 3) Shield on eye for 24 hours post surgery. On eye at night time for one month 4) Drops in eye post surgery through out the day for one month 5) After one month can do everything just as before Hope that helps
  11. Probably just two more foreigners leaving their brains at their country of origin
  12. I think it goes both ways, men are also fed up of women taking them for mugs, working their guts out in a job they do not want to do but they do it for the family and low and behold she runs off with someone else!! (her boss/younger model/richer) JMO
  13. Been visiting/living in Thailand for 34 years never ever heard this before?? I personally would never ever live in tourist areas of Thailand, visit for a few days is fine
  14. My girlfriend is 32 years younger than me, we have been together for over a year. One of my friends met her for the first time last week and he remarked that we never stop talking to each other and never once did he see us use our smartphone in each others company. My girlfriend never asks for money, does not where jewellery, very little makeup and scolds me if I book a too posh hotel (she says to me I am low-so girl I do not like hi-so hotel) My advice think yourself lucky and enjoy
  15. Give them a stretch in Bangkok Hilton, then see how tough they are
  16. I had mine done in Chaing Mai by supposedly the best lady doctor in the city. I think it was roughly 40,000 baht each eye, she told me I could get cheaper but not all lenses are the same. One week between each eye
  17. My doctor recommended that I had done when blood was slightly high. He arranged everything
  18. I had mine done at the General Hospital in Loei. In and out in half a day, price was under 9,000 baht
  19. I watch mine on TV screen
  20. I think they recommend everyone have it done when you turn 50 regardless of condition. I had it done in Thailand 9 months ago, painless procedure.
  21. Best way to get to know a city is to cycle or walk around it
  22. I cycle around my small city every day, 🛒, pay bills, eating out, in an evening sometimes calling for a beer
  23. 33 km every day is pretty normal, I used to do about 20 km, I average about 20 km per hour
