  1. Could be bad considering all the flood water arriving from Issaan also
  2. I agree, Nong Kai is only 50 km up the road, easy to get to (train, bus or taxi). Nong Kai is quieter and I would say more English per quota
  3. But at least you see a different place, which maybe more to your liking, after over 30 years of coming/living in Thailand I feel I have seen the best of times, change is as good as a rest. If anyone is reading this who is coming to Thailand for the first time, my advice, take it for what it is, do not marry and settle down here, nor build a house, it is only going to get worse
  4. All you have to do is live Thailand 179 days, another country of your choice 179 days, stopover 7 days, bit messy but no tax in any country
  5. They can't go back to 2023, they can only tax interest on your bank account in 2024, which will be below the threshold
  6. Seen them 3 times live, never had to leave my city to see them. Issaan people love Carabao. I have always enjoyed their concerts
  7. Think I will bring money in before new year, that will give me another year and see what happens
  8. Thank you. Yes he has onwards flights and print outs along with hotels he is staying
  9. I have a friend who is flying into Thailand, staying 21 days, then flying to Philippines. He will return to Thailand (flying into Bangkok) staying another 28 days, then flying back to the UK. Should he be ok just checking in as normal?
  10. Overflowing into the park also the other park
  11. About time. Next step follow UK rules, I know very difficult in this country but one can try. It will not eradicate them but it is a step in the right direction
  12. Don't do it
  13. Hahaha. You are only jealous, it has taken me 30 years to find her, I am not letting this one go
  14. Don't need any. The UK drainage system would not have coped with the deluge of rain we have had
  15. Nothing to do with drainage, there are numerous dam's which they have had to constantly open, which runs into the one river which runs through the heart of the city itself (which is nicknamed the sea of mountains) is surrounded by mountains, hence it does not take much working out where all the run off water goes
  16. If you were here I think you would appreciate the post a little more. 6" in 12 hours is quite a lot
  17. I am a realist, that is why I have girlfriend half my age!! Does not ask for money/talk, no jewellery, no short skirts and she keeps me young.
  18. I can always remember a good friend of mine many years ago saying to me (now sadly passed away) "Do not come too early, do not come too late". Obviously a little bit of working on the finances is needed but do not over do it
  19. When I went to Vietnam with re-entry permit I was refused my 90 day and had to fill in a a new TM30
  20. All I use mine for is watching TV. Switch on scroll for channel, that's it!!
  21. If you are happy eating like a thai/enjoy cooking yourself, not a big drinker/partygoer then there are plenty of options living away from Pattaya, in fact when I visit my friend in Pattaya some of the most unhappy looking people I have seen live there
