  1. Virtually every day I eat oats, fruit and plain yogurt, a couple of days a week I have poached or scrambled eggs on toast
  2. Always they say bad things about a foreigner!! I have many Thai friends and they all say the same thing, never rent to a thai
  3. Anyone who says they have not made mistakes in their life are either liars or have not lived life to the fullest
  4. It is not a done thing outside of tourist areas, it is frowned upon. By the beach Pattaya/Phuket maybe ok?
  5. Although I use Facebook, I would not care in the slightest
  6. I used to live at one in Chiang Mai, pretty sure they had 4 bedroom houses in the complex. The name was Sillawee (not sure I spell right) Cholpraturn Rd. (canal Rd) Take the canal road leading away from Doi Suthep towards Maheer Market, it is probably 1 km from the traffic lights of the said market on your left hand side
  7. Try walking early morning and evening, only 30 minutes each will be of benefit
  8. I used to have bad circulation (legs used to swell up) very painful, after standing for 12 hours at work. Since moving to Thailand having retired I no longer have this problem
  9. Me being a polite person and always say good morning to people find most foreigners pretty ignorant (walk straight past you and even turn their head away from you so they do not have to acknowledge you)
  10. Yes I understand, some of my friends loved them, I absolutely detested them
  11. I worked shifts in the printing trade virtually all my life: Mornings, Lates and Nights 12 hour night shifts being my last ones. Nickname graveyard shifts Got out early as I could
  12. They obviously do check on their system. The last 6 months I have visited a particular place quite often staying at hotels
  13. I had a home visit recently, two weeks after my visa was granted. All very friendly, the officers said they were just checking because many people give their home address but stay in a completely different part of the country
  14. Very difficult because for years the media protayed Thailand as one thing and one thing only. I for one don't even try, it's not worth it
  15. I have lived/visited Thailand for well over 30 years. Many people on here think just because the lady works in the bar she is bad (granted some are). The ladies who are teachers, nurses and government workers can be equally as bad. I know many who worked in the entertainment business when they were younger to sponsor their education because there parents did not have the money.
  16. I recently posted something to UK, the lady said normal 2 months, registered 2 weeks. I did not believe her and told her so, I posted normal, it arrived in 7 days
  17. After surgery (I had a TURPS) your pelvic muscles are weakened, not a expert but if you start doing Kergal exercises daily I am pretty sure you will return to normal
  18. If you have been together for a while, yes. My girlfriend gets quite jealous when she sees what goes on in the bars
  19. This is quite normal. Down to your wife how strong she is. My wife is unfortunately not
  20. I gave up trying to understand years ago. I think Asia economy far, far outways Europe, you only have to look at the advertising at premiership grounds, when watching on TV, probably other sports as well
  21. Just done my retirement visa today., I am UK citizen 800,000, letter/statement from bank, copies of said bank book (I always deposit 100 baht withdraw 100 bhat on same day so everything is exactly the same) copies of passport, wife's id card and her blue book
  22. When I came to Thailand, money did not come into the reason. I just worked out my pension and decided I could retire
