  1. I will talk further to the buyer for more info.
  2. My old uni bought a 'Golf cart' style 6 seat people mover a few years back. Nobody was assigned to check for maintenane needs and nothing was ever checked. The batteries died late afternoon most days but if there was extra usage the vehicle would suddenly die and have to be towed back to the faculty building with a rope and a motor cycle. It was parked close to the building and across the double main entrance doors, causing a headache for the dean, students and staff to get into the building. (Day dreaming Dean never reacted to anything, ever!) Plugged in late afternoon it took until about 9:30 am next morning to be fully charged, meaning that the vehicle couldn't be used to take students/faculty to class rooms on the other side of the campus about 7.30 am. We walked or boys with motorcycles did numerous trips to get everyone to the distant classrom (about 1.5 km from admin. / sign in building). Then it happened, 2:00 am in the morning roving security guards naticed the vehicle was on fire and they managed to get it under control / prevent spread of fire with buckets of water. Vehicle totally ruined. Fire station (on campus) only operates 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. No investigation whatever. Dean had received a renewal notice for insurance and told staff to immediately pay for renew of the policy. But dragon lady accountant didn't process the payment; she doesn't believe in insurance.
  3. My American neighbor here in Chiang mai recently bought a compact 5 door Volvo EV/hybrid for his wife (Hybrid = Electric and Hydrogen). He's an engineer, he did a lot of research into the safety aspects and was very impressed by the Volvo stats etc. So he paid a much bigger price and bought Volvo and got what he believed was the best / safest for his Thai wife. He says globally there's never been a vehicle fire with Volvo EVs.
  4. Seems to me you're normal!
  5. Sure, money first? But thee's also the FACT that nobody thinks ever about safety.
  6. Do you mean a typical western style funeral? Or a typical Buddhist cremation at a temple which offers such facilities? If it's a Buddhist creamtion the cost is the same as a piece of string mostly depending of extrensions of number of days, parties etc. My Thai, at my requestlooked for the cheapest near us in Chiang Mai. I did, some time back, tell my son 'keep it totally simple, no extra days, no parties, just the cost levied by the temple for the burning'. Best he found (just 1.5 km away) was 30,000Baht. But he also found there is no standard pricing.
  7. Excellent and focused advice, not confusing.
  8. Maybe, more to the point is the lack of ethics and morals of the senators.
  9. Not quite true - foreigners who have a Lifetime Certificate or Residence (Permanent Residence - PR) are recorded in the standard dark blue Tabien Baan book - not in the yellow Tabien Baan. I have PR, my name is in the dark blue TB book. Many foreigners with PR have mentioned before that their name has been recorded in the dark blue TB book.
  10. About 5 PR holders, all have their name in the standard dark blue TB book, not in a yellow TB book.
  11. After a reorganization of AN it's not now so easy to find specific forums.
  12. Go and look, maybe when you see what's available you can easily put together what you want. Worth a try.
  13. But seems to me they still need a large number of senators to vote for them to gain the PM chair.
  14. The Tabie Baan (TB) book is nothing more than a list of the people who are recorded as residing at the address on the inner cover of the TB book. But in reality there's the possibility a persons name is listed in a TB book but the person sleeps/lives at another address. Very common scenario, not illegal.
  15. Ultimately it's the person whose name heads the agree/contract for a defined scope of work and being the same person who signed a contract and scope of work with the builder.
  16. then...
  17. Then there's the foks who can't hold any intelligent conversation. Had to live in Pattaya for 2 years, got very tired of conversation (anywhere) about 'have you tried No: x from yyy bar yet. And/or they tried agin to trick me on the bar tab. All assuming that my sole activity id bar hopping. therefore no other conversation. Boring.
  18. Where does the 5m number come from? A link please.
  19. Not really, his comment is totally valid.
  20. Sure, but I certainly don't ever want anybody to hear me talking and assume I'm american.
  21. Even worse as you say re history. Plus very probably even worse in terms of damage to several sectors of US society and civil society. And quality of life.
