  1. Don't make statements on behalf of other people. I have no beef and no dislike of EU.
  2. Yes, many people in Australians use it for free domestic audio calls / video calls. I used it many times or calls . video calls from / to Thailand but have to check in advance that the other party has Viber. Same comment for LINE. I was back in Oz a few years back for a while, I frequently used LINE for calls / video calls to / from Thailand.
  3. The university I'm associated with in Australia has a number of Chinese students who have withdrawn from US uni's and transferred to an Australia uni to study. In all cases the standard process of transfer of grades already earned has happened (meaning transfer uni to uni, but this is not automatic, all uni's who are approached to accept grades from other uni's do a check first on the credibility of the initial uni).
  4. I agree, China is amused by trump but not frightened of trump.
  5. What a strange comment, doesn't connect to thread.
  6. OK but don't assume an IT position would be accepted as suitable. There's hundreds of thousands of trained / experienced Thai IT workers. However 'IT' could mean a lot of things. I wonder if you're assuming that married with kids satisfies a primary requirement. It's not that simple.
  7. There's a multi level (4 or 5 levels) Pizza restaurant in Ho Chi MInh city, every floor (circular tables, about 100 chairs per level), is devoted to a fruit: apple, watermelon, mango or to a vegetable. No meat. Very popular, need a booking to get in.
  8. What a laugh, burgers have been made in dozens of countries for decades. Yep McDonalds started in the US, so what, many folks rate McD hamburgers very low. My personal preference is Burger King, but that's just my personal preference. I've eaten wonderful burgers at a restaurant behind Ram Uni in Bkk, the owner is Thai, never been outside Thailand.
  9. Agree and I would add 'with mushy peas' if available. I recall the old pie carts in Aussie cities when I was a kid (in my case in Adelaide). Same meat pies sold today but with a big spoon of tasty mushy peas on the side. In those days people spoke of 'pie and peas' as an item. Personal choice of course.
  10. And often forgotten nowadays are his earlier statements (just after he was elected first time, which involved massive vote buying and threats to up country folks they would be punished if they didn't vote for the paymaster); Thaksin: 'Democracy is not my goal'.
  11. And the job / position stated on the WP cannot be a work classification reserved for Thai citizens. The list of work classifications reserved for Thai nationals is clearly / specifically stated in the WP regulations and is well known to all law firms.
  12. I suspect that not all immigration officers (regardless of airport) are fully aware of these items. And I suspect that's mostly because they are not actual regulations, just convenience. Many years ago at DM airport (Suv. not yet built) I was asked to change from the foreigners line to the Thai line the very first time I re-entered Thailand after gaining PR. Coincidence I'm sure. At that time the immigration officer mentioned that the officers manning the Thai arrival were more knowledgeable about such things and processing would be quicker. Also, at that time the Thai line had just a few arrivals waiting to get stamped in, whereas several very long foreigners lines waiting to be stamped in. I had just joined the end of a foreigners line when the immigration officer approached me and spoke quietly and told me 'much quicker if you change to the Thai line' and he took me arm and escorted me to the Thai line. Then some confusion, instantly many foreigners changed to the Thai line and the Immigration officer had to tell them 'cannot, you must use the foreign passports line'. Passport officer also said 'every time you enter Thailand show your PR book and passport and join the Thai arrivals line. That's nearly 3 decades ago.
  13. Wow, so observant. You claim you haven't had an "The 001 number gets through to C'link but I haven't had any luck getting anyone to answer - yet." from my experience over many years calling the toll free number it's always been answered quickly. (I'm not going to discuss 'quickly' any further.) You're now claiming nobody has ever answered. I don't believe you.
  14. "... Musk said that Social Security was the biggest corruption in history..." Corruption committed by who?
  15. OIC, you mean that rich people never ever steal anything. Thanks for the education.
  16. Vegemite still going strong. Some years back the salt level was reduced but overall still very delicious and enjoyed and still part of my breakfast routine (in Thailand) for breakfast about 5 days a week. Further every member of my Thai family* (in Chiang Mai) enjoy it on toast about 5 days every week. (*Thai son, son's Thai wife, 3 grand daughters and 1 grand son.) Also my Thai son is a good cook (Thai and international dishes). He makes a lot of different Thai soups, a full tablespoon of Vegemite added to every pot of soup.
  17. Watch your ego when you depart mr trump it might trip you up.
  18. Perhaps this poster is from the gang who believe there's only 2 countries in the world; USA and China. So ignorant. Did the poster never see eve one of the many news items in the last 2+ years mentioning the numerous massive ship loads of grain (incl, wheat) exported from the Ukraine?
  19. Are they? Any facts / data to share?
  20. Not only in Thailand. I recall an oil giant deciding on a new very high (from memory about 30 floors) regional HQ in a big western city. The primary design approach was a round building, with lots of small and medium size rooms all totally round. When the building was well underway furniture needs were on the agenda and it was then realized that standard square / rectangular tables, desks and whatever would ruin the 'roundness' approach. So individual furniture pieces were ordered to suit each round room (all rooms) all with round sides / round edges etc. The additional cost was millions and delayed 'move in' by a couple of years meaning that the lease on the existing leased building had to be renegotiated at great cost because the owner had already signed a lease for a new tenant who was all ready to move in.
  21. You're so sad, no need for that comment. What's got into you? In the past your comments were so balanced.
