Majority of senators “undecided” about voting for Pita as new Thai PM
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
All of which probably means they have decided but don't want to reveal (others be aware) how they will vote. -
OK but keep in mind there 2 different negative camps re thaksin: 1. The classic yellow shirts who are royalists. They won't forget the comments thaksin made about being thailans first president. 2. Those folks who aren't aligned to 1. above, they just dislike thaksin for his attitudes and past behaviors. Now stand by for the 'junta lover' response.

The meeting above revealed several more items and an additional AGM was quickly called for: 1. Revealed 2 old Chinese female owners were holding bank books containing part of owners monthly maintance payments siponed off for many years. Funds in the bank accounts were returned to a new committee which had been set up, 3 memebers, 1 member must be changed every 1 year. Old Chinese owners given heavy fines, banned from holding any positions to manage the condo, banned from having any type of access to condo documents. 2. It was revealed that the office manager was an employee of a Condo Management Consultancy. She gave a % of her salary back to the consultancy every month. The Condo Management Consultancy had an office within a government ministry building and not paying rent, not paying for electricity, using ministry vehicles, etc. Actual management team from the Condo Management Consultancy were also long-term employees of the ministry where their office was located. They were drawing salaries from the ministry and the Condo Management Consutancy company. -

At an AGM for our old condo a new owner (a CPA) queried the insurance on the actual building and equipment (pool equipment and more). The outside accountant was present. On deeper questioning the outside accountant produced several policies but closer scrutiny revealed they were all years out of date as were the receipts. Further checking revealed documents had been prepared for payment of these polices for many years including the current year. But cheques (checks) were written in favor of an aunt of The outside accountant. Bottom line the building was uninsured and had been for several years. The Snr. policeman owner called a colleague from an economic crimes police team, he came quickly. The accountant claimed she had to leave to go to another appointment. She did leave the AGM, in handcuffs. -

Agree especially the last paragraph. We owned a condo in central Bkk, arrogant upity office manager referred to herself as the owner of the building. Several incidents where she claimed that by Thai law she was entitled to the full commission on sale. We sold our condo privately, nobody evern knew the condo was for sale. As we were moving out the office manager instructed the 2 boys packing a mid size van with orur belongings to put the furniture, boxes etc., in a ground floor storeroom and never come back. I called the snr. police office who also owned a big condo same building. Office manager was challenged and told she had no authority to give instructions to the transport boys and had no claim re commission on sale of my or any condo. She was investigated further and it was discovered she was claiming 'commissons' on all the buildings maintenance payments, 2 of her aunts on the payroll never ever been to the buildings, and more. It was also discovered she was a member of a 'condo office managers association' (mafia). She went to jail. -
Shop located high walking traffic spot in nearby Big C mall, clear packets of weed on display where customers can pick up the packets and various bongs on open display. Plus 1 'pretty girl' and 1 'pretty boy' pushing pedestrains to stop and put packets of weed and bongs in their hands then pedestrian pushed to cashier and 'sale' rung up and instant demand for cash / QR / Debit card sale. Many angry shoppers. Lady owner of weed shop ignores all criticism and chats up the kids.

But watchwhatever agent ou use like a hawk, many come (or just phone) and take the details and never do anything to gain a sale. They focus totally/only on any high/big commissions. Been there done that. My Thai son took lots of pics outside of condo bldg and inside our condo. Made bigger than normal posters* with a QR code for more pics, tel e.mail details. Put posters up on every pole he could find within 1 km. Many were pulled down, he replaced them. He got a couple of 'bites' thru the QR code, son politely followd up every couple of hours with the folks that called, within 3 or 4 days condo sold, no agents. *At that time easy and very cheap to get posters (anys size on paper or plastic )printed at Pantip Plaza while you wait, and super cheap. Pantip has changed a lot not sure if the same printing now available but it will be available somewhere. -
Thai with expired passport

Or never mentioned that she was carrying 2 passports. Just show the Thai pp and mention 'it's expired'. US passport tucked away, never seen or menioned at the arrival airport. -
My Thai son cuts mine with a cordless electric clipper, 15 minutes. Starts at the front and slowly all the way over to the back, then same n opposite direction, then side to side, two ways. Extra 'runs; around the ears. Looks fine. Bought the clippers online 5 yars ago, about 450Baht. I did it myself when I was back in Oz for a while. Bought the same clippers on line b4 I left Thailand. First effort took an hour to get it all done to same length. Discovered doing it slowly, especially the back of my head and over to the front was important. Even a basic clipper cut in Oz was then about AUD45- = 1,020Baht. Worth doing it myself.

It’s Not Enough for Ukraine to Win. Russia Has to Lose.
scorecard replied to onthedarkside's topic in The War in Ukraine
I wonder how knowledgeable the russian midle classes and lower are about democracy / change of governments etc., in the rest of the world. Along with that I suspect the same folks see 'leadership', 'leaders', who becomes the next leader as a strong man battle to gain an image and track record of winning battles and therefore become the man of the moment / the king on the hill. And at that moment in time nobody would challenge that new leader. -

Also, China appears to want to 'help' with gaining some agreement to stop the war between R and U. I wonder what China's attitude to nucs is? -

Agree needs structured discussion but I rather doubt Putin would contribute anything constructive and which would indicate he has lost. Nuclear. Yes frightening, a very difficult factor. Putin knows 95% of the rest of the world will not accept Putin actually using nukes and he knows there would be very severe punishment of himself and Russia. -

Senate panel to study Move Forward party’s PM candidate

The PMs brother (military general) has a very scaly track record both within the house and outside, he would be a prime candidate (poster boy) for the 'dubious' list. -

It's simple. To make it even easier you could buy the base already made.
