Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
Which makes its very existence, and the title of this thread "Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC" all rather ambiguous. 😲 It might have been clearer if they'd called it something like Thailand Digital Arrival Permit So I think I'd rephase what you said with "There is no PHYSICAL arrival card....there is only an online submitted TDAC....." The rest of what you say is, of course, accurate. Pedantic perhaps, but there are sure to be people somewhere wondering how to get their cards! May also have prevented the questions about whether one needs to print it or not.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
You only get asked for the TDAC QR code if you HAVEN'T filed it online. Your Russians had obviously done it online already. it's just my thinking, but maybe the Russians in question were all part of a tour group and it was done for them without them even knowing. Or maybe they're all better organised than we think. After all I Imagine living in Russia one gets used to unquestioningly doing what one's told to do. As i say, just my thinking.

what would be the result if a rat got into an electric cars wire
.......and any passengers..........🤢................🤭 You joke, but mothballs (if you can find them) do deter pests like mice, rats, (and people) A former car of mine had soundproofing fabric in the engine compartment and one year I returned from a 3 month trip to find evidence of mice in the compartment and some fabric gnawed away. Since then I've been sprinkling a few mothballs in and under the engine compartment. My current vehicle doesn't have the fabric but I am still concerned about the wiring. Oh and once, I bought some mouse & rat killer pellets from a local DIY store. Useless - the rodents just ate, and presumably enjoyed it, so I ended up attracting them to my garage instead of exterminating them 🤬

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
You're right, but why would I bother? Just get a Tourist Visa before I leave UK. Visa Extension will cost me 1900 Baht ((approx £45) whilst a visa used to be about £30 and I can do it from the comfort of home - which is what I did when it was necessary before. As to your other point, I do have the luxury of time being on my side - just leave it until January and see how many times they've changed the rules and the current rumours have changed. 😂 UPDATE... just noticed that @Persuader0963 already made those points - my bad.

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
Annoying! 🤬 I stay 60 days so I guess I'll need to get a visa. It says "... no exact date has been set for this change," - I'm travelling in February, so I'll have to watch out for when (if??) this is implemented And of course a TDAC to add to the paperwork. Hopefully a Tourist Visa will still be cheap.

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
if you look at your source link (which goes to Facebook) it contains another link to The Thaiger which in turn says that this appears to come from Phuket Immigration. Don't think I'm allowed to post? So a LARGE pinch of salt, indeed. Bit like the alcohol "clampdown" which has just been repealed, perhaps?

Tightening of Alcohol Laws With New Fines for Drinkers
Hey! I resemble that remark!! 😎😁 Seriously, as I mentioned above I didn't think this would catch on, but in Thailand, one never knows what level of inanity will suddenly become law. They do seem to have a philosophy of "If it ain't broke, break it so you can fix it....badly! Not the only politicians in the world to do so, of course! And from the article above @marin posted I loved the line ""I told them that era is over. Civil servants no longer drink alcohol in the afternoon." Really? 😁😉

Fish n' Chips in Pattaya ?
There are other attractions at BC, you know - I don't think we're meant to discuss them in detail here though! 🤔

Tightening of Alcohol Laws With New Fines for Drinkers
to answer your first question, I can tell you with absolute certainty, that up to now all the Gentleman's Clubs were opening about noon and going through until midnight with no restrictions. I do know that the GCs had to close at midnight unlike bars and GoGoS that stayed open later. I know that because I'm friends with 2 of the Maggie May managers and they always pushed customer out on the stroke of 12 (pardon the pun) Apparently the police did come and check up on them from time to time. Same applied to Soi 6. Also, bars around the Bukhau / Soi "Pothole" area were also serving from 11 AM (ish) until closing time - 2-4AM It's my personal feeling that this won't change and I think that'll become clearer from the "Under Review" link that @Georgealbert posted above.

Alcohol Sale Hours in Restaurants Under Review in Thailand
Why not? They've obviously moved April 1st to November 10th, when all this was announced. Their country, their calenda, their "thought" process. 🤔😁

Fish n' Chips in Pattaya ?
Sorry mate - I love mushy peas - not only with fish. Add some black pepper and a drop of vinegar - delicious! And before you ask, I'm a southerner 😎😂

Credit Card machine
Please don't stop using cash. Absolutely! You, as a small / medium (?) business are caught between a rock and a hard place. If you refuse cards, you'll eliminate an increasingly large percentage of your customers, but, when taking cards, you incur the expenses / hassle you described. I'm in UK and I regret the law that prohibits the price differential between cards and cash. I carry cards and have Google Wallet but if it saved me money to get cash from the bank I certainly would and if I'm too lazy to do that, well I deserve to pay the premium.

Fish n' Chips in Pattaya ?
I've got a mate like you. Any vegetables or salad he calls "contaminants" . He always orders meals without either and gets really annoyed if they appear on his plate. So I suggested he orders the salad / veg on a separate plate....then I get to eat them - lovely jubbly!

UK Family’s Thailand Trip Delayed by Passport Sticker Mark
I think I've just dodged a bullet! I just booked my flight on Emirates (as I usually do) for my upcoming trip. Before booking, I looked at other airlines including Qatar. Due to the cost saving being very small, plus inconvenient timing plus no limo offered, I stuck with my "old friends" Emirates. Another phew! 🤔

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
You are of course correct - my bad 🙏 I got into the bad habit of referring to Suvarnabhumi incorrectly some years back when Don Mueang (DMK) ceased being Bangkok's primary Airport and to differentiate between the two. Suvarnabhumi is BKK Don Mueang is DMK Thanks @Maestro

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
You really won't need it! Honest Guv!! I do this most years and just sail through Immigration at SUV but @Upnotover posted it above anyway. I assume you will have a return ticket showing that you plan to leave Thailand within 60 days? What might be new to you is you must do a TDAC within 3 days of travel - all you need to know is here https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/visa-general-information?menu=65bb7713d0737318de2bab23 I've not had to do one yet as it was only introduced this year, - I'll be travelling in January so doing my first one then, but it doesn't look like anything to worry about.

What religion do you practice?
I quite like the quote I heard in the drama series "Peaky Blinders" "All religion is a foolish answer to a foolish question" IMO Atheism is a belief system, therefore I see myself as an Agnostic believing in nothing at all. I find far better ways to expend my mental energy! I take the view that if anyone proves to me the existence of any gods. prophets or other deities, I might reconsider, but, until then, I see no point in trying to communicate with, let alone worship an imaginary friend or trusting any book of unknown provenance. For me if it cannot be proved by Science, it simply doesn't exist. For those who wish to believe, I say "knock yourselves out" but DO NOT push your beliefs on others, nor twist your chosen beliefs into politics or violence....please.

Pattaya Nightlife Faces Strain Amid Changing Demographics
Interesting. I know about Jomtien and the Darkside etc but had no idea that there was much around T21. I shall have to investigate next time - thanks 👍
