  1. I know the ones you mean, and, certainly from the outside, you're right. The "mushroom looking" ones were terrible unless you locked your keys in the car - then they were great! But, if the door was locked, and you're INSIDE the vehicle, wouldn't pulling on the door handle simply override them?
  2. If you're INSIDE the car, isn't it a mechanical override as in an ICE vehicle? IE in my ICE, even if the electrics were completely dead, I could open the doors from inside the car even if they were locked, but not the windows which rely totally on electricity. If nolt, it would seem to contradict every possible safety rule!
  3. Kinky! 😎 (Some people will get that, others the wrong idea 😉)
  4. 'Acting the goat'. I haven't heard that expression in years. My poor old mum used to use it when chastising me when I was a kid.🙂 If HER Mum had said it, you'd have been in a Nanny state! 🤔 OK..........
  5. But be careful.....as to the last one, believe it or not........ https://www.primetools.co.uk/product/stahlwille-4026-single-end-adjustable-spanner-size-15-43mm-max/
  6. thanks that worked, though wouldn't allow a screenshot. Still no way to get cash though... Just a thought. if you're using Windows use the Snipping Tool to take screenshots. That just gets you an image of whatever is on the part of screen on which you focus.
  7. Oh yes! 🙏 Did you ever get sent for a "long stand", or a "box of Amps" or a "left-handed hammer"? (I only fell for the first one! 😒)
  8. Great post @ballpoint Agree 100% Keep on keeping on!!! 👍😊 This thread contains some corny, nonsensical silliness.......because it's a joke thread and that's just how it should be. Just remember....."If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
  9. What! You mean some of these jokes are old? Goodness gracious....who'd have thought it? They were all new when I was a lad 😎
  10. Just as soon as you post some I imagine 🤔😊 BTW, there's quite a lot of Dave Allen on this thread...seek and you will find!
  11. i get what you're saying and you're right...BUT.... my experience by picking the right sellers has been positive. Repeating what i said "I've bought similar licences since 2017 and all are still showing as activated and getting updates." These are on 3 different PCs using Windows 10 and 11. You're right to be cautious (Caveat Emptor and all that) but look at the link I posted earlier to Ecokeys, then look at their Trustpilot reviews. I even emailed them for some support regarding how Outlook behaves differently from Office 2016 to 2024. I got an almost immediate and very helpful response with an offer to refund my payment if I wasn't satisfied. I declined and kept the product - very satisfied, but you will, of course make your own decision. I only know that, over the years, i've saved more than £2000 on various MS software and not had a problem. Also, when I was configuring my new PC, a friend was doing the same - he bought on my recommendation, both the PC and software. BTW, I have no connection with Ecokeys other than being a satisfied customer... Food for thought?
  12. No it's a w-turn. The problem is, when you keep going around in ever-decreasing circles, eventually the view becomes rather unpleasant 😜!
  13. Agree, never heard of being able to claim cash on insurance. Merely "OOI" My UK bank does cover mobile phone theft and accidental damage worldwide. I think i'd need a Police report for the former. And years ago, when i was rather naive about certain aspects of Pattaya, I was pickpocketed (ladyboy on a Baht bus) and my travel insurance did cover the cash (limited and subject to excess and a very tiresome Police report), but amusingly not the wallet. As that was a Beach Rd "knockoff" it hardly mattered.
  14. Tap wherever you like
  15. So? They're openly available on sites like Amazon and others. the company I bought from states that they're genuine licence keys. Check 'em out https://ecokeys.co.uk/about I've bought similar licences since 2017 and all are still showing as activated and getting updates. The thing is, if they were illegal, Microsoft would soon jump on them, so don't fall for the MS hype.
  16. And it is so sad that they don't. Absolutely!!! 👍👍👍👍 Used to love Tom & Jerry. When I was a kid, my father used to call me when they were on TV with the shout "It's education time" 😂 Found a DVD of T&J Anniversary Collection in a Pattaya market many years ago - must dig it out!!!
  17. I'm focussed on it!
  18. +1 I had occasion to visit Dr Warin in 2020 to replace a crown that had come adrift. My note says "visited Dr Warin who refitted it without drama – 500 Baht" Good to see people still recommending him
  19. Seeing that certainly gave me a flashback 😂
  20. To me, the interviewer came across as having sympathy for the inmates, in my view that's inappropriate. From that, two thoughts occurred to me: I thought the use of the word "spartan" appropriate - the inmates aren't supposed to enjoy their time there, whatever they might say about rehabilitation, they're primarily there to be punished. Secondly, from the documentaries I've seen and articles I've read, Changi is luxury compared to Thai prisons.
  21. Thank you - very kind of you to acknowledge that 👍😉 In all seriousness, academics may be very intelligent, but i do think a lot of them lack "street smarts" or just plain old common sense. Not knowing the Prof. I have no idea whether he falls into this category or not.
  22. You're right. But, as you say, they never learn, so no matter how much appears in the media, these idiots still think they know better! The hell with them - they've done the crime, now do the time and stop whinging!
  23. However eminent Prof Sapolsky may be, I would disagree with the sentence that includes "...... free will is an illusion because our choices and behaviors are entirely determined by factors beyond our control....." (My emphasis) To me, that's either just psychobabble or a "copout" allowing people to blame others for their errors of judgement / poor decisions which is unfortunately increasingly common.
  24. Thanks. I watched the movie many years ago - thought it was accurate and have now found the documentary to which you referred earlier.
  25. You didn't. I "double quoted" you and @Johno57 who said "Seems a common occurrence in Pattaya" and you replied to him thus:
