  1. I’m sure all the anti American posters will gladly take the vaccine. Especially if it’s free.
  2. Some people do get reactions from the vaccines. I know people that have gotten back and shoulder pain, and/or fever. But this only lasted for a day. Since the symptoms have lasted for a long time a doctor should be consulted. It can be unrelated also. Listen to Sheryl. She is very knowledgeable in these matters.
  3. I hope this deal does go through. More people will be properly vaccinated which is a positive thing. But i have something to say which could be considered somewhat off topic. I apologize to the decent people on here who try to help others. Unfortunately there are people that respond to posts with anti-American comments. There was a recent post that had so many of these comments. A moderator had to step in and delete all of them and give a warning. I bet these people would not hesitate to take a vaccine free from America though. If you hate America so much, then dont take a free one given from America. But everything is ok I guess as long as it's free. Let the people take it that appreciate it. You can purchase a Moderna vaccine, or take a free one not from America. And by the way, If a person decides to move to another country. That country you move to is not obligated to provide you with anything. And Im not defending Thailand. And the same type of people will probably say Im a troll, and this and that. The only trolls are the ones that "Troll" the forums looking to insult people.
  4. I just opened my Grab App. There is no request appearing for any type of facial recognition. As for the driver’s cancelling. Just like the person stated above me. Some will just take the call hoping you cancel. Then they will get credit for it anyway. This happened about a year ago to me for about a month. I became suspicious because the drivers took the call, but weren’t even near me. I reported them.
  5. Hello. I was diagnosed in my mid-thirties with a hiatal hernia and GERD. I dont have the open sphincter issue though. I had an upper GI endoscopy. Im 66 years old now. Over the years gastroenterologist have changed up my medication because after a while they would not work as well. For a number of years I have been using Rabeprazole 20 mg each day which has seemed to work. Sometimes though even with the medication the GERD will act up. But it will lessen the acid. I know of no syrup or rinse to protect the esophagus. It is protected with oral medication to lessen the acid production. If the reflux is bad please be careful with this. You dont want to develop a condition called Barrett's Esophagus. How long has this been going on? I suggest you see a gastroenterologist. Have you discussed these issues with the doctor who has been treating you for those conditions? If you havent had an upper GI endoscopy lately you might need a follow up. Also. The medications used to treat the reflux such as Omeprazole, Nexium, Rabeprazole. They can deplete your calcium level. You should take a calcium supplement while using them.
  6. It looks like a bed bug, cannot be sure. I have a friend in the states who does pest control. I used him for bedbug treatment in my condo I owned there. This was due to other owners having issues with bedbugs in my specific building. And one homeowner tried to treat it himself. He was unsuccessful. I will tell you what he told me. The bugs are very tiny. But will increase in size after their "blood meal" Some people who have bedbugs get bitten, but do not react to the bites. If it is a multi family residence, it is difficult to say where they originated from. I dont know what type of home you live in. If it is a single family home it is easier to treat. If it is a condo or apartment, the adjoining units would need to be inspected and treated as a precaution.
  7. I was giving an example of complaints as the topic states. It doesnt matter what the cost is. I think the people that read these forums to belittle people. Maybe their lives are too short because they are miserable and have nothing else to do.
  8. I purchased a rice cooker from a major department store in Bangkok. It only cost 650 baht. It stopped working after about six weeks. It was a popular brand I have seen here in Thailand. I had all my receipts and the box. A Thai friend suggested to go to the store and speak with customer service. She would speak with them. The store was a ten minute walk from my condo. So someone from customer service helped us. He tested the cooker and saw it did not work. I thought they would just exchange it for another one or refund my money. Instead they kept it and told my friend they will send it out for repair at no charge. She said they wont give me a replacement or refund. And they told my friend it will take a long time to repair it. The repair might cost more than the item is worth LOL. If I ever see the item again. I do have a repair ticket.
  9. Everyone has their own outlook, expectations, and planning. And as some people have said anything can happen anywhere. I personally would not move to another country without a backup plan. And I would not risk moving to another country without the proper income and medical insurance. To me its too much of a risk. Im 66 years old now. I retired almost four years ago. I have been living in Bangkok for a little over two years now. I did visit here prior to moving here. I always wanted to see what it would be like living overseas. Possibly it would also change my life. When I took vacations I would mostly take them in different countries. Thailand was not my first choice to move to. But it appeared one of the easiest to get a long term visa. Fortunately because of my previous job I have decent retirement income, and excellent health insurance that covers me internationally. I do pay for the insurance, but at a reduced rate. If I did not have these benefits, I would not have considered moving overseas. My initial goal was possibly living in Thailand long term. But unfortunately it's not for me. So if prices and inventory on rentals and real estate improve. I will be moving back to my own country. Its only a matter of when.
  10. It doesn’t matter if the meal was paid for or not. It was a violation of the Covid restrictions. And people have been readily fined or arrested for violating those restrictions
  11. I commend anyone who is in any country that has been able to get a Covid Vaccine. But I would not get the vaccine knowing I was not qualified to get it out of good morals.
  12. You cant only look at the percentage of vaccine given. You have to also look at how well the specific vaccines being given protects.
  13. I have been told by the two major private hospitals in Bangkok I deal with about Moderna. I can register with them and I only need one for a booster. I will not name the hospitals. Yesterday one of the hospitals sent me an SMS message about Moderna. It was a long message written in Thai. Unfortunately I cant read Thai. And the Thai woman Im dating cannot explain well in English. I used my translator and it said registration would begin Monday and a link would be sent to me. This hospital sends me everything else in English. Im not comfortable using an online translator for this, because sometimes the wording isnt correct. So I called them yesterday asking why an English version was not sent. They said they would contact their marketing department. This hospital has a lot of Western and Japanese patients also. So this morning, still nothing in English. I became concerned because Im thinking on Monday, the registration link will be in Thai only. So I called the hospital again. I was connected to Customer Service. The person said she would contact the marketing department. I said that was already done. I asked if I can come to the hospital in person on Monday to register. She said I could, but there could be many people and that could delay my registration spot. Then she said there was no promise marketing would send out an English version. At that point I became agitated. I told her only sending out a version in Thai appeared to give Thai patients and Thai speakers the advantage. And I found it odd that everything else the hospital sends is in English. The other hospital is the one that I deal mostly with. Its my main hospital. You go on their website at 9am, and click on a link to confirm. I was told s a patient Im actually registered because I requested it previously. When I when on the sight today it said one hour wait time to connect. Then a few minutes later it said 57 minutes. It also said not to log off or I would lose my place. But a few minutes later it logged me off saying server error 503. I called the hospital. They said try tomorrow at 9am. I did go on at 9am today when it opened up to confirm.
