I'm sure someone related on here that they went below the limits, for example, 4 months after being issued their extension. At renewal they were told they were on 8 months overstay as the extension became void once they failed to meet the criteria.

A Senior Officer can override the requirement so using an agent to gain access to this officer is just as legit, despite the mention of it raising the irrational anger of many here. I suspect you knew that though and were just stirring the pot.

One of the MFA slides at the briefing said you "can" do this, not that you "must". I would probably opt out given the history.

I don't think you can apply yet for a restriction free stay. so presumably you are going into Sandbox or ASQ/ALQ. Transit is allowed for these. It's not yet known if transit will be allowed in countries not on the approved list for a quarantine free stay, as mixing with a potentially higher risk group increases the chance you'll bring the virus into the country undetected, due to the incubation time. The UK for example didn't allow it if you disembarked the plane or new passengers got on and many travellers avoided transit in Dubai on their way there for example. If they don't allow it, it'll dramatically reduce potential visitor numbers and if they do it'll increase risk of covid numbers going up. Wait and see I suppose.

It's available but not easy to access unless you can read Thai, and I don't know but there might be passwords known only to a few. Several months ago I went to a service desk to do it but that's not an option before the first document check for current arrivals. This week I asked one of the staff shepherding the new arrivals if he could do it and he did, but that's not to say you'll get a helpful staff member with the time and knowledge to do it. I only used it however to top up my phone and activate the data package and my advice would be to have printouts of all documents you might be asked for.

The MFA briefed that their target is to have the system "ready to operate" by roughly the 1st November. Now there may have been something lost in translation but my interpretation of that is there's no chance of it being ready by the end of the week.
