And nowhere in the article did you see anything about the grandmother being put in a home or not being taken care of. It was the opposite and the clear indication she was an abusive alcoholic. You can do normal maintenance and upkeep to the property but you are excluded from participating in any active on the farm that generates income or in providing service to others. I believe Volunteering is actually illegal if not on that permission to stay.

Well actually they don't need to import others as they exploit women and children. As for disinformation coming from other countries there's tons of it to the point that many can't decipher truth from fiction. You may want to go back and reread that and compare it to your statement. They were not illegally counted in the last election as that was the current regulation which has now been changed for future elections. That rule along with other rules can be changed in the future as well

Stating a fact is hardly scaremongering. Imm Officers can request any additional documentation that they feel is necessary, even if its not listed in the regs. Telling people to just flat out ignore request from Imm is not a smart thing to do. Giving them information and let them decide their own course of action is appropriate. We are not citizens of this country last I checked if you're here on any type of permission to stay. Acting entitled to choose to just ignore requests from Imm can come with consequences. Will it happen, don't know, has it happened, don't know that either as all expats don't belong to this forum, read here or post here. Does or has Imm officials done odd stuff not listed in the regs, every day.

Not all provinces will issue a COR on a tourist visa. As an example NST requires a 90 day report first. All banks will not issue an account on a tourist visa with just a COR. Many require a long stay visa stamp so be sure to check first as there is no single rule that provincial Imm follow.
