  1. It has been possible since June for foreigners of age to obtain free government supplied vaccines if that is your question. And for a month or so for others younger at least in red zones. AFAIK sales have not started yet and believe most of them will be for those who made reservations and paid months ago. Pfizer was available to foreigners free last month but suspect has already been used/committed.
  2. Quite common in drain pipes here in Bangkok, which are not normally eaten - from river is another story.
  3. Sand would be available on the beach - if it actually was still a beach - which for Pattaya may not be a given.
  4. Believe it is one copy in Bangkok - although I use retirement these days.
  5. Very useful if you update and get bank letter on lower level as can get copy of last passbook updated page made and any others you need - on my last visit the shops were at North-West end so a bit away from most banks/immigration. Edit: Have been using Google maps for last 3 or 4 years at Bangkok Immigration for home location.
  6. Because if you do not have heavy rainfall the dams do not fill up and during dry season there is not enough water. It is a balance act without dedicating large areas for water retention (the cost that nobody wants to pay).
  7. Throw a dart. Anywhere more than a km or two from the floating market should be rural enough but still close enough to Bangkok for emergency medical care. Internet in Thailand is among the best in the world for local bandwidth and fiber optic is the norm for new lines but do not expect top speeds internationally at all times (which seems to be your desire - but this is true just about anywhere and Thailand is improving in that regard). You say outside tourist areas but then lest tourist areas so perhaps you just want to be on the other side of the road but have access to western foods (as in the Pattaya darkside)?
  8. Requirements can vary by location so best to say what office. Passport copies will have to include current extension of stay. Most office now accept Google maps,
  9. You know as well as anyone we can not name and shame on forum. But I do have experience and sister spent 30 years trying to get insurance to pay for medical office and private business of claims filing for those unable to do themselves.
  10. In a decade or so? Many will do whatever they can to make it as hard as possible to obtain payments legitimate claim or not - they will see black as white and try to make legit not legit given the chance, and to read any word to their advantage.
  11. 1. No. 2. No experience during COVID but COVID situation is expected to not be a factor for most things in a month or so. Normally you would take paperwork to translation office and have them take care of from there and mail to you to allow registration.
  12. He is reported to have have said he is not innocent - but the drugs made him do it.
  13. Many items sold here online have no warranty or only a short week or two from seller and are often clearly stated as such in advertising. You do not mention any warranty paperwork being sent after purchase so expect that is the case with what you had. Often these are gray imports - that may have a warranty in original sales country only or none at all allowing lower priced sales. As mentioned this is a throw away item for most buyers these days and not worth the effort to get fixed unless you can do yourself - and often that is an option - or have a fan type repair shop take a look. I have fixed in the past but really not worth the effort and returned to old hand brush myself as seems to work just as well (of course being of long in the tooth age there is a reduction in numbers). ????
  14. He has reportedly blamed it all on his being high on drugs at the time so of course it is not his fault at all - the world is to blame for making him high. ????
  15. I have US insurance so have not personally checked but from reading over the years would make sure to insure with an international firm subject to consumer rules. Believe there is a choice at reasonable price that will cover in most of world (other than USA) which would be good as you may indeed travel or change your location at some point.
  16. The recent news was a law decision on legality of two tier pricing in Government Hospitals which believe is why your OP was not understood. As for Private Hospitals would only consider the top few to be generally better than government due to it being 90% doctor 10% building for most conditions. But a good doctor is what most want in either facility and in most cases private will be more comfortable and timely. Some private hospitals will indeed have two tier price system, at least for room, and in my experience admin will often quote foreign price to my Thai wife (if we mention having foreign insurance - but lower when Thai asks for lower price) - actual bill is always the Thai price even when quoted more (perhaps because we pay in cash and then apply for insurance refund). In any case it seem perfectly OK to question what charges will be and ask for discounts (although admit I seldom do so). But a Thai is expected to ask for a discount anywhere.
  17. So you wash it out and return - no big issues if normal stilt or lower level cement construction and you have upper level to store items in normal rain/river rising flooding - dam failure would be another story but unless you have ability to live on the top of a mountain not a lot most people can do about that. Isolation does not suit everyone.
  18. Yes it floods often - family has home near Wat Lai, few km South, and have seen water up to floor in stilt home 2 meters above land and the land at least 2 meters higher than klong. Although that only happened when a klong dam failed - normally not higher than about 2 meters. But yes the area floods.
  19. In my 20 years of retirement extensions here in Bangkok that has not been asked. Several years ago they did require TM30 receipt and that has been what I have used since. Over 20 years ago indeed did require wife documentation when extending for marriage. That said expect it could be used to prove residence in lieu of rental contract.
  20. I find this the best loop radar for Bangkok these days as you get view of movement. Both Takhli and Sattahip are useful for fast moving storms. As said the two Bangkok radars have not been on web for a year or more and the canal levels were also removed from internet ages ago - out of sight out of mind I guess (they were very useful for predicting flooding and time to drain). https://weather.tmd.go.th/svp120Loop.php
  21. Actually there are other rivers leading to the sea but in 2011 some were blocked by local governments (plus it being about 90% more water at the time).
  22. Not specific to any office but: If TM30 not on file the photos may be in lieu of that requirement to prove where he stays. A map is a normal requirement. Believe there have been several other reports of income proof being asked, as well as Embassy letter. Seems they are asking to see a total of 800k transferred for the year but not the 65k per month as for nationalities that can not obtain Embassy letters anymore.
  23. AFAIK that is not Thai law - it is current policy only which could change under current laws - if you can provide a real law source would be most appreciated.
  24. How does it make it so much easier? You still need bank letter of account ownership and showing balance for each month remains at 400k or above under current requirements (and some are being asked to return to prove this after 3 months) - using income you need bank letter and proof of 65k deposits each month (a passbook/yearly bank statement if US or letter from Embassy if they issue for most) - basically the same paperwork. So for those married the 800k is tied up in there name only and likely not available for months after death to spouse. Can not be used for medical emergency (or at most half).
