  1. As I read normal replacement applications can be done in person or by mail - you would need appointment to do in person. But now applications will take the same time as those done in USA so add a few weeks to the previous 10 days to 2 weeks. Embassy is not clear on mail but suspect they return your passport (canceled) immediately and they do for applications done at Consulate Section. So you would have your old passport during the wait. Consulate has not issued normal passports for many years - all 10 year passports have to be made by special process on old Pease Air Force Base facility in NH from my understanding. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies/npc.html
  2. Actually suspect you entered Thailand as your country so the phone number should be only 10 digits (starting with 0). I have no issues getting SMS from Wise and they often use to confirm login.
  3. Because the thread was about dog food and suspect OP from Isaan, Yes this just opened in Bangkok on Rama 2 but suspect others will follow (Central Group).
  4. It is called Tops Club here and sells Costco house brand items and first store is 15,000 square meters (Costco average size is 13,000 square meters)
  5. We split serving so had to find what they both liked - they seem to like jelly type the best - and they both love Pedigree Dentastix (smokey flavor) so they are at door waiting 0900 every day for that.
  6. Well they have more than a dozen flavors so he might like another - we rejected about 5 that one or both not happy with and have another 5 that both love that order now.
  7. Probably not cost effective for larger dogs but for our smaller dogs have gone to wet food in ready to eat pouch from SmartHeart and they like many of them. Easy zip bag and squeeze out with no mess, Sprinkle some dry food on top which ends up as between meal snack. One pouch costs 20 baht on Lazada
  8. As said unless she is distilling the water (she may know how - moonshine) boiling is just making water with more minerals. RO filter systems can be bought for about the same 3k price these days and are 5 stage. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/ro-100-ro-75gpd-00001-i123126881-s128590091.html
  9. Actually we were in a gated communities in Bangkok back in 1975 - and crime was higher in our community than elsewhere. Residents decided safer to get rid of gate and guards and crime decreased. And this is not uncommon - those living in such areas are expected to have wealth and often treat low paid guards with less than respect - and reap the rewards.
  10. But you posted as a warning for those not using COD in your original post: Suspect you mean for those that are using COD?
  11. I suspect other cards will work just as well (I have used both credit and debit) - and my point was you do not require a wallet to receive refunds when doing so..
  12. You don't need a wallet to make payments - have been using US bank cards with no issues and infrequent refunds have been made to account in a timely manner.
  13. Indeed much less - Apolets [Clopidogrel] 75 mg [Box of 30 tablets] ฿480.00 https://bangkokdrugstore.com/product/apolets-75-mg-10s/
  14. Plavix 75 mg [14’s] ฿1,200.00 https://bangkokdrugstore.com/product/plavix-75-mg-14s/
  15. Actually Chok Chai 4 since 1976 but have spent about 6 months in Udorn (Udon) when US had a Consulate there and it did get a bit warm there too. But this year has been exceptional in that normally Songkran brings some rain showers to start cooling things off - that did not happen this year. If forecast right should cool down a bit tomorrow.
  16. If sent for FTT (immigration) will not arrive until after 1400 - wait a few minutes. Although expect with 4 days off in a row there could be other delays today.
  17. There were only 2 bank workdays here in Thailand last week.
  18. At a price of 14k I would hope it would be SS and it is indeed possible for corrosion of such tanks from salt air, even when good quality, which many are not.
  19. Or just lower the float valve and use the good 3/4 of the tank. If you are in a coastal area probably better to just change to plastic tank when the time comes. As mentioned if one leak there are likely others developing.
  20. Really? Believe would rather eat McDonalds myself.
  21. And here in Bangkok those thermometers have peaked at record levels almost every day for the last week or two. It is hot by any measure.
  22. It should not be required if you have air conditioner as that will dehumidify if properly sized/used. Dry heat feels much better that wet (when you are getting soaked just walking about). You will see it indicated in the "feels like" temperature readings.
  23. Air conditioning is the name of the game and if only in BR stay there - fans after about noontime are more like hot hair dryers and worse than nothing IMHO. We did have a 22 years old refrigerator (replaced compressor 3 years ago) become a victim and feel paying the electric bill, even if higher, is worth it for us mortals. Indeed it has been a long haul of heat this year.
  24. Different routes - different times. AH16 time 2 hours and 12 minutes. RT27 time 3 hours and 7 minutes.
