  1. It was the peak of real estate and tourist arrivals, while at that time the tourists where still spending good and also came from the old school countries. Now it is replaced for a large part with those from other countries like Chinese, Arabs, Indians Russians/Ukrainians and Israeli. But yeah now you say so, interesting that it is the same time.
  2. Yeah maybe write a book then you can have 1% of the world population being confused as a niche of which maybe 0.01% will read it. Why not combine it with starting a religion at once too.
  3. Apathy is the new normal, the smiles were never genuine there just a lot different ones.
  4. Nothin to do with covid but with that Thailand has been in a downward spiral ever since '16 and '17. Worst yet have to start too as they are even getting lazier, I wrongfully hoped and thought during covid that this would be their big wake up call. All that happened since is higher prices for even less service / quality. Same, IDK it is me but anytime I check tickets the price from Thailand to a place, is almost double compared to flying back to Thailand from that place. To the point that flights that used to be max 2K baht now costing 6K or even more. It's sometimes even cheaper to fly via Singapore.
  5. Bla bla bla, you are born with a weener or without one, simple as that. Case closed.
  6. Right while it makes perfect sense to activate this in 2025 again with all new technologies as well their tax plans. It's like waking up a sleeping bear that website page. This topic should be deleted lol. You also forget that 95% never stays longer than 90 days so this is not that hard to do as it would pay.
  7. Another nonsense article, like is even a majority of hot girls on islands like Phangan and Samui for their yoga retreats.
  8. Manpower? Training? Equipment? What are you talking about. You simply need to jail the first few people for life in prison, make sure everyone knows that and it stops tomorrow. I don't understand this in the first place, is not like you can burn down central mall as well, just jail people.
  9. Footage shows him jogging. Maps shows it's just 180 meters. Audio indicates he is not out of breath at all too.
  10. My assumption is that they choked him to death. The guys who did it know that too and that's where the running a mile BS comes from.
  11. I just checked google maps and the place he was attacked is only 250 meters from the karaoke place, not close to 1 mile or 1 kilometer at all. He barely was running at all. The story is stinking entirely, this was straight up murder. It was a soi 7/1 across BKMA station. Look it up yourself. What does the Makro story have to do with it in the first place and why would the bouncers know he came running from there. And why would then right after have resulted in him running back 180 meters again, to chase him + murder him. Is a BS story.
  12. Like covid experts and their vaccines. The subject everyone wants to avoid because almost all injected themself too.
  13. There barely has been real bad air pollution this year so far in CM. Just a few days of 150-180 which is almost normal daily in central Bangkok at rush hours. We were supposed to already have full on terror since weeks with 300-600 level days as well. Purifiers barely have work to do inside houses: mine runs on 7% speed now, lightest xiaomi one, with 35 average quality. Even have the balcony door open and I live right at the forest and mountains. Whatever would still start now won't be lasting that long either, it's near songkran already. Think people who live in central thailand have average way worse air over the year, as well many months a year in total.
  14. Great way to get even more ignorant in life; self censor yourself by blocking any view at a particular moment in time forever from other people so your views get only more and more selective and limited. Congrats, you now achieved to be on a forum that is no longer really a forum.
  15. Imagine asking this question while like 50% of the global population struggles to even have a normal life, lives in air pollution by default, just as we all did for a very long time in western countries ourselves.
  16. Right so it will take another 86.2 years in that case, assuming no in between changes of the ever changing climate, to rise 50 centimeter, from today. Then by doing all the fake climate change things to fight this, we will get the same in 100 years lol.
  17. These people are really morons aren't they? The burning season has started and the high season for highest prices on like phangan ended. People always go to Pai during the winter and then all return back to south aside from high season in the north ending in general with tourists now. So obviously you would see a plummet align with that news event then too. This has zero to do at all with those people or the news. The north in general is a joke in terms of what it was this high season, as well in general and how few expats and nomads are left, compared to anywhere else. The latter is not even related to the burning season either, which has been better than it was in over a decade so far. Bangkok seems the same performing on average even, in terms of air quality, if not worse. CM, CR etc it's alll a dump, only gotten worse since covid. You can see how the house of cards is easy to break already too, they now depend on specific niche tourists in quantity from specific countries. They chased all genuine travelers away over the years to focus on: chinese, indians, arabs, israeli, russians and ukranians. Go to Vietnam and you will be surprised that all genuine ones that used to come here, that created the great vibes, are there now. It's like changing an artistic psytrance festival into EDM music only. Thailand is like the new Spain; for mainstream mass tourism.
  18. I don't understand why people still need to visit their bank, you do not even really need a card anymore since you can even withdraw cash using the app. Still prefer visiting the bank for a few hours over immigration though.
  19. Is same with anything like traffic etc. Being selfish is the issue here. People drive double lane half the max speed without mirroring, alone on the world. No different with forcing kids into a 1M baht marriage and then a 1.5M more for a house and car, just so that the parents look good.
  20. Who cares. The fact you think about it or not, or the fact you would buy less or buy at different shops so the individuals don't now, doesn't change their life at all. My experience is that Thais always will have an opinion on how we spend our money while they in fact often burn it, hence they are broke too. Like it would be entirely normal to 'waste' 5000 on a Thai buffet if you suggested going with the family while if you would want to invest 5000 in some hydroponic setup to do more productive farming and make your own vegetables that way, they would most likely disagree and have beter ideas already. It's in that way always easy to spend someone else their money or to tell others what to do different. Maybe people richer than you feel sorry for you all the time too when not eating at a 5 star restaurant, it is more or less the same logic. Maybe the cashiers even feel sorry for you, thinking you have no clue where to get real food. They not even think about the money part as how much it is but how and what you spend it on compared to them. That's what everyone always does, relating it to their life.
  21. Anyone with brains just buys a ESIM data package online for as little as 4-5 dollars, no passport required at all. Most better deals will even cover entire SE asia + Australia at once. Speed also way better than tourist sims. That's how pathetic this entire measurement is to track tourists and sim cards.
  22. That's what a forum is in the first place, what a dumb comment. Secondly, it is not even a personal opinion but a statistical fact. For anything there are few exceptions. Imagine being that dumb that you are telling people what to comment on a forum.
  23. Thailand is actually a great place to get stuck in life, or at least at the level you are at. If you are fine with that it is a great choice. Not sure that fits your lifestyle though. Nobody is doing pretty much anything here so it becomes very easy to also not do much yourself (or to wrongly think you are doing enough). I personally see a higher rate of declining retirees here than ones that thrive within it. Specially if they not build up something over a long time here. It's those that keep on moving around that seem to be the most happy and healthy overall. Not that different for expats in general.
  24. It has never been this good in over a decade, in terms of how late it started, how few days it had bad air so far this year, while it usually already ends with songkran. Only now recent days we had worser ones but that is still peanuts compared to the 3-4 weeks of 300-600 levels. So what are you surprised about? It's entirely logica as it is in fact much better than usual up north.
