Thailand Moves Closer to Wealth Tax with New Asset Tracking
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
AKA the new system where you own nothing but are happy with a Universal Basic Income that is minimal, and if you then work on top you get some more against lower tax rates. In reality you lose on growth potential, power, privacy and more while the real elites will just stay exempted and remain in control of the big plays. The gates are slowly closing... Guess in 5 years it is just normal to all be paying 15-20% minimum for those still here by then. I could see Cambodia getting more populair and not enforcing such things for years until their GDP is big enough. -
Banged up: Thai prison nightmare exposed by British tourist
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What you expect you abuse some dog for ages and then suddenly stop, you think the dog is no longer scared and traumatized, and not takes his chance to bit you back as soon your guard is off? Can't expect that, not that is justifies anything but that's reality. If I was one of them and my family bombed, I would also want revenge. -
No idea what nazism really is clearly. Many things here resemble that too, so why live here then too.

Banged up: Thai prison nightmare exposed by British tourist
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Seems there is details missing to this story, to just be beaten up in a public toilet out of nowhere sounds like BS. Even if you came across of those random general rogue cops you would likely be able to pay them a bit. -
I am leaving Thailand - yes taxes!!!

Exactly that, just for starters and in the most simplistic way. Maybe you can get a life long extension when having tax debts lol. -

ChaiyaTH replied to Celsius's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Of course they are not involved yet because nothing has evolved to that stage yet. You expect that the entire immigration in the country and it's people would be informed and knowledgable about something that hasn't even effectively been implemented yet? Because something is moving with small steps forwards, since years, doesn't mean it is not happening. This entire tax thing is not even a Thai subject alone, it is a global and WEF effort to avoid people running away from their countries to not have to pay tax, as too many do that in recent years. It's the same where a pilot in France starts where you will be taxed for up to a decade if you were a resident there for 3 / 10 most recent years, so a quick leave can't be done anymore and is demotivated. This is planned to further roll out in the entire Europe afterwards. Last but not least, do not forget that even technology or bureaucracy might be behind, if you have taxes due they can go back even 5 years from now. For fraud or evasion supsison even 10 years. Then consider AI and it's capabilities, that only get worse for us. So think long-term with this stuff. It's 2025. The era and days where you could play around with this and there was a big grey area, is fading. -
Thaksin to Discuss Global Path for Thai Models with Naomi Campbell
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Oh dear, let's give the muppets some fake pipe dreams again so that 1 million young Thai girls will start social media trends and model school workshops pop-up everywhere even more. To then find out reality 20 years later: only 0.10% makes good money with it. Most of them are simply prostitutes that play the long game. I'm talking models in general here. -
Cuttings from Auto flowering plants, is it possible?
ChaiyaTH replied to Bday Prang's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Why would you cut a autoflower to begin with... The entire purpose of auto flower is to have that work sorted upfront lmao. Don't tell me you dry you weed in a microwave and sell it without being cured properly too... If you want to 'speed things up' you simply grow normal seeds and then make cutlings you pre-grow seperate from the main grow room. -

ChaiyaTH replied to Celsius's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Seems this dead forum is dominated by people who not even live here anymore. Explains all this incorrect answers too, is like people who come every year for 20 years already and compare it to being an expat. Clueless.. -

Immigration would be the first to be involved as that's the only way they can check on us foreigners to leave the country. Same they would provide the data indicating someone is a tax resident or not. Use them brains... -
I am leaving Thailand - yes taxes!!!
ChaiyaTH replied to Celsius's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I think many people have lived here or in SE asia so long, they have no clue how bad it is in terms of costs back home as well how bad life in general is, even if comparing it to just 5-7 years ago. Is like you only need half the money here to live the same life as well. In a way, even taxes here are a rip off, if it could be settled for just some basic income with 15-17%, it is actually not that bad at all. Specially as you can also have tax free income here from certainl revenue flows or donate money to a wife. Try doing that back home. You might pay less taxes back home, or get more in return from it, but you also go back to live in hell and pay 3X for anything. -

I don't think you understand what woke means, secondly I also do not understand what point you are trying to make with people who want to report here or not + what they do at the moment with their home countries. -

Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?
ChaiyaTH replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Must be amazing that being someone high on fantasy enables you to do what he does, achieve what he does etc. Even more strange that normally never happens, if things are actually fantasy or if a person is actually wrong. -
Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?
ChaiyaTH replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
So long story short, a whiner is whining about Musk who was right about covid since day 1. To then now zoom in on other small nonsense items instead, as of knowing that argument against him is destroyed already. Hmm.. where do I know this from? Years long of bashing of Tesla, Trump, Bitcoin etc etc. but all keep winning... It's like Pearson who now came out to say, yeah i'm so sorry i was saying these things during covid but they mislead me, i am a victim too. If I only knew covid was a hoax I would not have done that. -
Polish Tourist Arrested for Spanking Incident in Bangkok
ChaiyaTH replied to Video News's topic in Video News and Updates
Wait what? A simple spank on a Thai is 200,000 baht fine and jail? A french backpacker was caught recording other female backpackers in the dormitory showers up north some years ago and was given a 1400 baht fine for public indecency... Seems they really have this extremist law seeking goals as soon its a foreigner VS thai while in the exact same identical cases where it is foreigner vs foreigner, thai vs thai or thai vs foreigner, it not happens. Not justifying what the dude did but this is starting to become very obvious. -

Need to stop renting motorbikes with more than 50CC to foreigners without a big bike license. Insurances won't pay. Is absolute nonsense that Thailand has not addressed this issue since decade plus. Like if you get the temporary International permit it might avoid you getting fined but insurance legal wise you are still driving a bike you do not have a license for hence they do not need to pay out. You would need a Thai license. I don't get why it is so hard to implement this speed limiting technology that they also use in Europe for this, it's not as if the existing bikes become useless as far I know. Just gonna be a issue with the mountains lol. In the current landscape of things it is just a setup for young people. When i first came here I was also told it was enough to have the International paper, I was lied to for years before knowing better. -
BBC Presenter Ugo Monye Faces Bankruptcy Amid £200,000 Tax Debt
ChaiyaTH replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You must be really ignorant if you think it is done better for you in your 'organized pension'. We are just months or a few years away before they do a rug pull on those. -
Is nothing to speculate about, deaths and murders happen a lot on all the islands. It happens also much more frequent than people even know, it is just rarely exposed in the media hence Koh Tao still appears to be the murder island while it is just as much Phangan. Why they happen? Foreign guys with big mouths, or part of the drug dealing scene to later get issues or rarely due to some foreign girl aka jealousy. Many other scenario's are ofte just accidents. From all the thing that happen, fights to gun point to a shot gun fired to murder, it often starts with a foreigner (guy) who was warned to fk off, or stop doing XYZ, and not listened.
