  1. Yes but if you are getting a "one year" ed visa, then the maximum amount of time you can stay in the country is 12 months from the date you entered, not the date of your ED visa, so there's no point in first obtaining a 30 day extension when in the country, and no advantage to getting a tourist visa over an exempt entry before you arrive.
  2. Withdraw it to where? To do what you propose involves buying stablecoin on an exchange that operates here, then send it to another exchange in your home country, from which point you can withdraw to a local bank. That's the process. I have no idea about the legality of doing so.
  3. Good. I often spend a long time worrying about "the convenience of those involved throughout" any such event...
  4. Okay it looks like I misunderstood the story. Thanks for clarifying.
  5. I'm surprised they even entertained the idea of using a train ticket as proof of exit; I once tried using a train ticket to Butterworth and was told no.
  6. Frozen pizzas all taste like cack to me. It's okay in the homeland where frozen pizzas are much cheaper than takeaways, but there's always a good deal on a takeaway and they freeze and reheat to a much better taste than any of the boxed supermarket stuff.
  7. I mean, you could try actually reading the whole post and coming up with a genuine counter argument, rather than cherry-picking your quite from one tiny part of a much larger sentence and going "NO"
  8. There's nothing like a bit of sensationalism to make a story glow, ah? Never mind accuracy. Maybe 20 years ago I once came across somebody who was mildly surprised, at most, when I told them I was going out to lunch by myself. In this day and age, and certainly in tourist areas, I doubt anybody ever even raises an eyebrow at the concept.
  9. Immigration have access to the information on computer databases if they need it. However generally when entering airports or attempting to obtain a visa, the IO will simply flick through your passport to see the history. Whether that's because a database lookup would take too much time/effort or the IO officers are just set in their ways, I don't know. So, yes, a new password may be helpful in certain situations, but it's not a magic bullet and it won't wipe out the records of your previous entries if officers really want to see it.
  10. If she'd done so he could have beaten her harder or even killed her! She got out while he was sleeping which seems like the safest way to go about it.
  11. This is really the only realistic option. You need to accept that you are going to make a significant loss here. All you can do is apply some diplomacy and try and negotiate. It's difficult when there's emotions involved and you're dealing with somebody who you feel screwed over by, but if you bite your tongue throughout the process you may be able to at least keep hold of a bike or three.
  12. So everybody living in Thailand who is under 50 got married in order to obtain a visa???
  13. Ah. So all you have to do to stay long-term in Vietnam is get married? You're right, that's much more convenient...
  14. Because it's supposed to go directly to the staff, who, as individuals, are not VAT registered.
  15. I expect the majority of the forum's traffic, and hence ad-revenie comes from overseas, so an ip-based solution probably makes sense.
  16. If I remember correctly it is possible to get a license to brew beer for consumption in-premises only. But I thought that the volumes have to be pretty high. The bar next to the Hilton in Hua Hun brew and sell their own beer on site, too.
  17. That's exactly what the person you quoted was talking about. If the menu says 7% vat and 10% service charge the you'd expect a bill of 100 bt to have two additional services charges; 10bt and 7bt making a toal of 117bt However it's common practice to add the vat first, making the bill 107bt then adding 10% service to make 117.7bt total.
  18. Then maybe keep out of the thread, pursue a chat with somebody who better meets your standard, and leave others to be more helpful.
  19. These will only ever have a chance of cracking the beach-rental market here if they can last a full day before needing a recharge.
  20. If you're not going to even try to make any rational arguments then there's not really much point in pursuing this particular "discussion" any further.
  21. We can't send them to France anymore since we failed to sign up to a returns agreement when we left the EU. "Gut feeling"s are what caused this whole mess to begin with.
