  1. don't shout, if you have questions do use question marks. this thread has derailed. It has now nothing to do with thailand, as required by the OP in his very many requests. Just became another war thread. Hence should be closed
  2. because all thai related was already discussed, would this thread will be closing now?
  3. yes, 2k of ballistic rockets from russia (just 30 minutes supersonic flight) and from some 60 submarines on oceans (that timing is shorter). Up to 50 megatons each - some 3000x of the big boy from nagasaki. They are the hydrogen ones. Those rockets can't really be stopped, at least half will rich it's targets. They can be destroyed yet before being fired, but preemptive strike means full nuclear war. Each town over 100k will get at least 1 bomb.
  4. there are many research paper for some 2 years. the last one from August. In thailand there use to be lozenges cepacol original. Withdrawn from market at the beginning of this year. Unknown reasons. It's still readily available in europe. Mouthwash is available only japanese imported one, not cheap. Cosmetic grade 7b per gram. That makes 1 litre solution. So about 1 year moderate use for 1 person.
  5. so how the penny dropped and how they knew it was all scam? That is not explained. They were sending some packages to chiang mai. what was in them? why they were scared so much and why they did not go to their police station to clarify matters?
  6. I just checked Mali clinic in bkk has for 7900b. Doesnt say how large dose is. but proves some clinics have it. Getting it in some other countries might be cheaper. Maybe there is generic in india. Thailand has large duty on imported medicines. In europe some patiens or their families do sell their medicines on the net, after ending their treatments
  7. or even better cetylpiridinium chloride solution. Sprayed in mouth. I never had nasal rinse, I do choke when trying.
  8. if not accepted just a 2 day trip to sawannaket consulate. You can go alone.
  9. he went for health ministry post because he knew that "medical ganja" would bring him and his party a lot of profits from ganja industry, which they championed. He is overly emotional and not rational, in the past he had to delete several public statements from his fb (that including racist and xenophobic opinions). He even claimed his account was hacked, later was forced do temporarily deactivate it - that was under pressure from the PM.
  10. that means killing by police their competition in drug production and distribution, and that includes innocent people police suspected in drug involvement and "collateral damage". That policy would far exceed mass murder tall which is some 76 within the last 2 years. That 2 mass murders, that 2500 victims war on drugs mass murder and the previous numerous mass murders of protesters were committed by police, army and paramilitaries with legal firearms. Even the last mass shooting was committed with legal gun owned by a criminal, drug dealer cop. Probably with gun sourced from police arsenal. Police has a money spinning scheme allowing it's force to buy heavily discounted brand new high quality firearms and resell it privately to public, at very large profit. That is how there are over 10mln hand guns at private hands. I do really hope they will lose vote of young generation and urban voters. Their drug policy is against the majority opinion, which welcomed ganja liberalisation. They will lose votes to bhumjai thai mafia party, which championed that policy, for their own particular financial benefit. Pheu Thai is a reactionary party, part of establishment, and as much corrupted as the rest of old political parties. All those parties are colluding in squashing move forward party from gaining foot in thai politics.
  11. even with only 100 1-megastone nukes temperature in North will fall to -15 up to -25C within a week or two. That would mean no food production there for several years. Full scale war (some 2000 1-megatone nukes, so only 25% of usa/russia arsenal)) would wipe out the majority of population within months - from famine. Average world temperature would fall by 16-20C. Higher fall will be in equator and tropics (thicker atmosphere here) and lower in poles. Say in thailand temperature would fall 20C, allowing for some crops cultivation for some half part of year - from March to October. Probably no rice, even less likely for fruits (pollination stage would be a problem), as they need higher temperatures and lots of sunshine for photosynthesis. Some limited fast growing vegetables will be available and needed to be preserved for the rest of year. And mushrooms, which don't need photosynthesis and can be easily dried and stored. Most of the time people will rely on foraging - including shoots and roots. Probably bamboo would become staple diet, that instead of rice. Bamboo shoots can be preserved for long time. I think hard disks will be fried up/erased in all domestic appliances, including smartphones. All IT would become obsolete for years. Electric supply will be patchy. Say a few h per day. It will be coming mostly from hydropowers in Laos (that if they would like to export it), not from imported gas. Not sure about solar power, if there would be not much sun. And damage to them from radiation. Moving to countryside (for more readily available food) and to the South (for slightly higher temperatures and less radiation). So buy food now, which can be preserved for years, for example dried one or processed. Store it in cellars or underground - to prevent from contamination and looting. Storing drinking water is problematic, needs a lot of space - some 60 litres per month per family member. Would have to rely on filters, probably portable ones. There won't be shortage of water, but for drinking would have to come from deep wells, uncontaminated. Stock up on most needed medicines - even beyond their expiry date they still can be used.
  12. the last time it was an active soldier shooting his corrupted commander, hijacking an armoured vehicle and killing 30 at a shopping mall and on the streets. Disarm army and police
  13. Moderna 2nd generation just started to be available in the usa. The thai government has ordered it already the last uear and the first batches suppose to be coming already from the beginning of uear. But there was delay in research and production. the other vaxes, no mrna, are suppose to be easier tweecked to new strains, but i dont know if they bother to do those upgrades. I dont follow it now that closely. shame that moderna was wasted, because at the very same time it was not available at my hospital. The ministry should coordinate distribution and shift expiring stock to the other provinces. I remember the last year some expiring vaxes were extended to be distributed beyond date. The manufacturer gave permission based on new research
  14. Moderna suppose to give longer protection. Thats why its short in thailand. Who has a chance to book it in advance does it and waits several months for getting a jab. But the upgraded version of moderna, generation 2, just only now started to be distributed in the usa, uk. it won't be available in thailand for sometimes. vaxes, that including pfizer, are available in every single governmental hospital. At my local one i was able to book it online. But walk in is also available. When i pass this vaccination department sometimes there are no waiting line. Just fill up simple 1 page form.
  15. pfizer is everywhere. it's moderna, which is short
  16. go with pacific cross, they are the best value. They have many plans. The cheapest don't have deductible. Your visa health for 180 days would be 32k (they don't offer deductible). Not 15k, as you mistakenly wrote in your opening post. One year health policy called premier premier would be 35k. You can half it by 50% choosing 300k deductible so some 17k. More decent one, premier plus, would be 25k. You can compare tens of policies from 6 insurers. Only pacific cross offers up to 50% deductible. There are several plans from some other companies with less deductible. https://misterprakan.com/th/health/plans?gender=Male&age=60&lg=en&ipd=1&opdf=1&leadid=348157
  17. check on cetylphyridinium chloride. you can get cosmetic grade at 7b/g and make your own cream. That 1g makes some 500g of cream. But also as spray.
  18. so punters are forced into bars and go-goe's just across the street. Those bars are police/military owned, give brown envelopes. Was the demoted commander accused of dereliction of duty or such? So he has to rehabilitate himself for a few weeks, before going back to his usual practices. https://thethaiger.com/news/pattaya/pattaya-police-chief-cleared-of-vice-charges-back-on-duty
  19. go to another hospital. Not necessarily the nearest one. There are many within walking distance. If you want to save some money never go to private hospital. That's second opinion. Take all test results. If blood, pain, no urine - something is seriously wrong
  20. pacific cross visa health insurance is the only one on the market. Their policy is new, since August (has replaced one year policy). Probably competition will follow sometimes, but they won't be competitive on value. If you do stay just over 6 months per year in thailand I would go for full 1 year policies with high deductible and no outpatient, to reduce premium. Bear in mind 30 days exclusion for illness and 120 days for 6 serious illness. So your visa health policy is not as good as one year policy. Visa health one can't be extended, each year you will get this 120 days exclusion. Full one year policy covers you also abroad for up to 6 weeks at time. Also with one year policy you will get up to 20% no claim reduction
  21. if you have health policy, it also does cover accident, to the limit of your policy. that's explanation from Kay from misterprakan.com , which I got the last year: "You will be covered the maximum amount of the insurance per accident as long as you are not doing anything illegal (driving drunk, racing, driving without a license). The coverage for accidents is the same as the coverage for any illness and covid. They will just follow your coverage for premier plus. So maximum coverage is 3 million per year following the terms of your plan." I have pacific cross. In their health plans accident is included and covers 100-400k per year (depending on which policy you have). That covers disability, loss, but also smallish outpatient accident - will include broken bones. Your hypothetical hip replacement after accident will be covered by your health policy. For any treatment which includes general anasthesia you will have to be admitted to hospital and health policy is paying. With pacific cross you can upgrade accident to 1mln (possibly much more, some 5mln, when taking their top end policies) for 150b for each additional 100k. If you decide to take only PA, bear in mind: "Medical Expenses Benefit Medical expenses benefit is usually 10% of the insured amount, although some insurance companies have made their own policies that cover more for medical expenses. This coverage will benefit the insured person should an accident result to an injury that requires hospitalization." "https://misterprakan.com/en/accident/personal-accident-insurance I would rather upgrade health policy, than get separate PA. Unless you have large deductible. Or don't want to lose no claim discount (and also risk premium hike for the next 2 years) - as is the case with pacific cross
  22. probably cheaper is Kluaynamthai Hospital, walking distance from you. I would go now, when there are no waiting lines. Or ask reception for the governmental one
  23. looks like urinary tract infection, she should go immediately to the nearest emergency. If she doesn't have any insurance yet, the governmental hospital will do. Try to get her admitted, so they will run all tests inpatient, rather then delaying them in outpatient
  24. 1. krungsri not necessarily do it instantly - they told me to come back in 10 minutes. Previously it was 1h wait. 2. officer allowed me to submit an application (they have a list of names who pre-booked), but I had to bring her printout later. 4. come back on the last day my previous extension expires - exactly in 4 weeks
  25. faeces do carry virus, that's why chinese were doing rectal tests - more reliable than throat/nose. Turnstile is also installed on exit, so anybody not washing their hands (and using hand for cleaning their bum) was spreading. Bum guns are installed in new toilets, but the majority still do have water tanks with bowl. There were also cases of people catching covid from their infected neighbours - ventilation at bathrooms carried virus. Possibly also through bathroom drains
