Please. this is sad. What it says is that prions can come about through genetic mutations. It doesn't say that it's the only way or even the primary way of them coming about. Once again. Here's your false sentence; "You known damn well this is total nonsense. The UK government found BSE was caused by genetic mutation, not any kind of cattle feed." In fact, the scientists explicit said that BSE can be transmitted by cattle feed: And here's what the scientist said: "According to Richt mad cow disease caused by genetic mutations is extremely rare." In other words, mostly foodborn but genetic causes are possible as well. So it's false that "The UK government found BSE was caused by genetic mutation, not any kind of cattle feed."

Sure. That's way the world economy hasn't grown a bit since various trade regimes were negotiated since WW2. You make an excellent point. In Oppositeworld. -

Well, let's look at what just happened. Trump blinked. Or do you think it's just an amazing coincidence that as the bond market started to crumble, he reversed course? Even Trump acknowledged the seriousness of the bond market stampede. So, 90 days go by and let's say Trump doesn't get much in the way of concessions. Is he going to go the same rate again. Once again threaten the bond market and the world economy? You think other countries haven't noticed that he blinked? Why wouldn't he blink again? -

Classic Trumplike zero sum mentality. -
You can squirm and wriggle all you like: Here is what you wrote: "You known damn well this is total nonsense. The UK government found BSE was caused by genetic mutation, not any kind of cattle feed." You made that a general statement. Not about a rare variant. Give it up. You got caught. Acknowledge your error gracefully and move on.

Talking about blindness Here's a link to Biden's tax cuts. https://archive.ph/sdqRf And apparently you haven't heard of the CHIPS Act which promoted building advanced semiconductor manufacturing in the US. Among other things It got, Taiwan Semiconductor, the world's most advanced manufacturer of chips, to build plants in the USA. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/12/13/inside-tsmcs-new-chip-fab-where-apple-will-make-chips-in-the-us-.html Which is why Donald Trump said this: Trump’s Call to Scrap ‘Horrible’ Chip Program Spreads Panic The CHIPS program was one of the few things to unite much of Washington in recent years, as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle worked with private companies to draft a bill that would funnel $50 billion to rebuild the U.S. semiconductor industry, which makes the foundational technology used to power cars, computers and coffee makers. After President Joseph R. Biden Jr. signed it into law in 2022, companies found sites in Arizona, New York and Ohio to construct new factories. The Commerce Department vetted those plans and began to dole out billions of dollars in grants. Now, Mr. Trump is threatening to upend years of work. Chip company executives, worried that funding could be clawed back, are calling lawyers to ask what wiggle room the administration has to terminate signed contracts, said eight people familiar with the requests. https://archive.ph/wxSv7 And here's some other actions that the Biden Administration took against China: Day 52: March 12, 2021 – Five Chinese companies including Huawei are backlisted by US telecom regulator Day 62: March 22, 2021 – EU, US, UK, and Canada sanctions China over alleged Xinjiang human rights issue Day 79: April 8, 2021 – US blacklists seven Chinese supercomputing entities Day 134: June 3, 2021 – Biden expands Trump-era ban on American investment into Chinese firms Day 145: June 14, 2021 – NATO shifts focus to China, declaring it a global security challenge Day 154: June 23, 2021 – US bans imports of solar panel material from Xinjiang Day 170: July 9, 2021 – US adds 23 Chinese companies to economic blacklist Day 175: July 14, 2021 – US Senate passes bill to ban all products from Xinjiang Day 275: October 22, 2021 – US intelligence officials warn companies in 5 key tech sectors on China Day 308: November 24, 2021 – US blacklists Chinese quantum computing companies Day 316: December 2, 2021 – US finalizes rules enabling it to delist Chinese firms Day 322: December 8, 2021 – US bans all imports from China’s Xinjiang Day 324: December 10, 2021 – China’s top AI firm lands on US’s investment blacklist Day 330: December 16, 2021 – US treasury department blacklists eight Chinese companies Day 330: December 16, 2021 – US commerce department adds 34 more Chinese entities on its entity list Day 383: February 7, 2022 – US adds 33 Chinese entities to its “unverified list” Day 489: May 24, 2022 – US President Biden indicates a willingness to defend Taiwan militarily. Nice try. This is from the Fox News business correspondent: I don't want to say this, because I am a patriot, I'm an American, but it is the White House who capitulated, based on everything I hear, and all of my sources. And the reason why is because of the bond market and what happened last night. You know, Bessent knows this better than anybody, when you have yields on the 10-year rising to 5%, stuff starts shutting down when you have the lending market screwed up. By the way, who's dumping the bonds? Somebody asked him if it was China, right? It wasn't, it was Japan. https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/charlie-gasparino-it-white-house-who-capitulated

Which is why Trump has been such a big supporter of raising the Federal minimum wage which now stands at less than $8 per hour? Just kidding. About Trump being a supporter of raising the minimum wage. Not about how much it is.

The govt of the Philippines might disagree that that statement.

My mistake.

Wall Street Rebounds Sharply as Trump Softens Tariff Stance

From the article: “Although President Donald Trump was able to resist the stock market sell-off, once the bond market began to weaken too, it was only a matter of time before he folded,” said Paul Ashworth, chief North America economist at Capital Economics. Usually when the stock market crashes, investors cash out and put their money into T-bills. This time they were cashing out of T-bills as well and putting their cash into Japanese govt bonds and into bonds of other rationally governed countries instead. Not exactly a vote of confidence in the USA. -
Sure. Because companies are sure going to make big investments in the USA because the promise of continuing reversals and changes of course is a potent incentive to invest. And the fact that investors were fleeing not just the stock markets, but U.S. treasury bonds, was actually really good news. In Oppositeworld.

Actually, Trump blinked. And very little elimination. Just because countries say they want to talk, doesn't mean they've acquiesced. And now that Trump has punked out, let's see how many knuckle under.
-
Who are you going to believe, me or your own lying eyes?
-
Tariffs are very low between the US and other developed nations. He even penalized countries that run a trade deficit with the USA. His plan is not rational. It's about his foolish belief that the US is being cheated because it runs a negative trade balance.

In that case, Trump bits are money.

They'll be full time costumers. Thanks to the extraordinarily productive slave labor, a guaranteed wage would not only be possible but inevitable. How else to consume all the stuff those robots will be making?
-
I realize that you're making a joke, but the situation would actually be more comparable to slave labor. Basically the robots are from an economic standpoint, effectively slaves. Their owners give them energy and maintenance and maybe upgrades but that's it. Once their production pays for their expenses everything else is mostly gravy so to speak.
