  1. I agree with most of what you say, but have to take issue with your assessment of the security in both Thailand and the Philippines. Yes,there are lots of conmen, swindlers, tricksters, thieves (most of it non violent)in the PI, but the usual portrayal of the PI as very dangerous and violent ,is vastly exaggerated, while it is vastly underrated in LOS. At least that is my experience. I have ,in the past, cycled extensively in both countries, and that includes a lot of night biking. Never have I been the victim of a violent attack, never have I felt threatened in the PI, in spite of that I as a single farang on a bike in the middle of the night in the the middle of nowhere would make the perfect target. Contrast that with Thailand, where I have been the victim of numerous unprovoked attacks, one brutal, where I ended up in the hospital, and have encountered innumerable threats and racial slurs (farang kuay, farang monitor lizard, farang kee nok). To me ,the portrayal of the PI, very widespread, as extremely dangerous, is a myth, while the notion of LOS as very safe in comparison is ridiculous. The violence in the Philippines is mostly instrumental, they want your money, hand it over, and they will leave you alone. In Thailand a lot of it is racist, they want to humiliate the farang.
  2. It would definitely have to go through Soi Pothole, turning right all the way down Soi Buakao past the lovely beer bars (the girls would love it, nice distraction from the potbellied farangs ambling), then down to the artificial, often disappearing, sand beach, zipping through walking street. Has to be in August , the flooding would add some extra challenges and excitement.
  3. I am not so sure. I fly in from Vietnam regularly, both Bangkok airports, and most of the time accidentally end up with a young female officer, and never had the slightest problem . Well, maybe it's not really that accidental. Not a fan of the male Thai, so maybe my subconscious steers me away from them. Where in the past I always hoped to not end up with a woman, was at Chaeng Wattana. There used be one older female IO, with excellent English shout dozens of questions at every applicant, for the whole hall to hear. Luckily I never got her, she made me nervous just watching her.. So, I would say a young attractive female newbie with bad English is the way to go. 😁😃😍
  4. It's a very boring job. I would scowl too, if I had to sit in a tiny booth swiping and stamping all day.
  5. Wearing shorts, a T-shirt, baseball cap backwards , he doesn't look the part of cult leader at all . More like a bro from the hood. Let him join the remnants of ISIS, where he can fight the evil empire, very soon led by another cult leader again, his orange holiness with the red tie and the mushroom genitalia.
  6. There are government hospitals in all provinces .Don't they have dermatologists?
  7. Yes, I was at the Bangkok hospital Rayong last week and asked what a quick consultation, just a few questions, with a specialist would cost, and they said about 1600 to 1800 Baht.
  8. Why are these Katoeys referred to as "she".? They have very little in common with Thai women. No uterus, no ovaries, silicone boobs, large hands and Adam's apple.
  9. They never transfer old stamps. Why would they? It's all in their system anyway. I often get a new passport because the old one is full ,long before it expires. If they transfered all the old stamps, you would replace an old passport, full of stamps with a new passport full of stamps.
  10. Better not name names here. You might got sued for defamation. 😁
  11. Unfortunately, they are a turn off for most of us. With a 50 year old Thai women ,it's disgust more than lust.
  12. Probably her 20 years ago.Or, it could be her daughter.
  13. Probably, but it's not saying much:Just like In the US of A ,anybody, even Mickey mouse , is better than the orange retard and his GOP ass kissers, in LOS anybody is better than the repulsive Shinawatra Mafia.
  14. Even without a retirement visa, Egypt offers great visa runs to Israel or the Gaza.
  15. Cannabis or no Cannabis, the attainment of maturity in this society is near impossible. Might as well keep it legal, so that mature a ND rational beings can blunt their sensitive minds when dealing with all that childishness around.
  16. Well,in the old Thermae , decades ago, you would occasionally get a freebie, that is to say "score ". Doubt that is still possible. This new generation of professionals is much more professional and mercenary than their mothers and grandmothers. But too old now to really do field studies and score. Strictly pay for play when you over 60.
  17. Woodstock was one of the first bars on Nana, they got things started in the mid eighties. I was a regular back then, have a few beers at Woodstock, and then head to the Grace hotel or the Thermae. The Grace back then was mainly farang, in the late eighties the Arabs took over, the Thermae would remain farang for another decade. The attraction of the old Thermae was that it was owned by the police, and could stay open all night. Before 2 am it was deserted, but quickly filled after the go go's closed at 2.
  18. The monk can pass it on to the BIB for conversion into another smart car to hunt down overstaying Farang. Make Thailand safe again
