1. I haven't worn one since that article a couple of months back that said it was not actually breaking any laws. Only put it on to enter a shop. Makes a huge difference to quality of life.
2. Best and most accurate post I can remember reading on this forum. You are exactly correct, we(the general public) have absolutely no idea whatsoever what is going on in the Ukraine. That we are on the precipice of nuclear war and the end of all life on earth over a matter we do not understand at all strikes me as being rather unwise. What I would say is that the failure to reach diplomatic solutions before an invasion started is totally unforgiveable. I am aware of Putin's "demands" to end the skuffle and they were all absolutely reasonable IMO. There is no need for the west to place nukes on Russias border, they could atomize the country from anywhere if so desired. Thailand having the intelligence to stay neutral here, and not caving in to the pressure from the US to take a side is very impressive. Well done Prayuth and co.
3. I have owned many kinds of small boat here. Fiberglass, several plastics, even a mini wooden longtail. Best by far was one like the image I will post below. It was very stable, could carry some heavy loads, lasted many years, wasn't as heavy as the small longtail. The fiberglass boats are light but the smallest ones are unstable and I found after a few years in the sun the fiberglass degraded and often got cut on my arms when paddling. Bought our last one like this locally for 6,000B, highly recommend.
4. Both H Clinton and Joe Biden said Trump was an "illegitimate President" ie they denied the result of the 2016 election. You may have forgotten but 4 years was wasted falsely accusing him of cheating in the 2016 election by having colluded with Putin to cause Hillary to lose. Didn't they even try impeaching him for this without evidence? Didn't remember any of them getting banned from Twitter for such anti democracy actions and repeated misinformation. Don't remember any media outlets getting banned from Twitter for repeatedly promoting the disinformation that is the Steele dossier - we now know where that came from. Today we have a rare breath of common sense. Elon Musk Says He Would Reverse Donald Trump’s Twitter Ban ‘I think that was a mistake because it alienated a large part of the country,’ he says https://www.wsj.com/articles/elon-musk-would-reverse-twitters-donald-trump-ban-11652204279 And also another low - this time from prominent leftist Lori Lightfoot calling for armed insurrection(and not getting banned from Twitter)

To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community—the Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms.
— Lori Lightfoot (@LoriLightfoot) May 10, 2022

5. Good point. Why do conservatives get banned for doubting the 2020 results, when we had 4 years of prominent members of the left doing exactly the same thing? No wonder Musk was annoyed enough to throw down $40 billion to level the playing field. "In 2016, Jean-Pierre said that Trump had stolen the presidential election from Hilary Clinton. She said, "Stolen emails, stolen drone, stolen election..... welcome to the world of #UnPresidented Trump." https://thepostmillennial.com/revealed-bidens-new-press-secretary-made-stolen-election-claims-against-republicans?utm_campaign=64502
6. true enough! and thanks for the reminder. I promised years ago not to spend another second thinking about this case.
7. No question what you say here is true. But, can you name me one other case anywhere in the world where in the trial the murder weapon(the hoe that did not have the DNA of either of the accused but DID have DNA of somebody unknown) had been "misplaced" by authorities so they nipped down to the shops and bought a new one that looked similar? That the case was not thrown out immediately when prosecution produced a similar weapon speaks volumes. edit to add - there are lots of photos of the original hoe on the beach covered in blood - Daily Mail ran it for one. Finding the hoe pic in the trial is more difficult but it was a shining new hoe and I remember in the transcripts they admitted the original got lost so they bought a replacement.
8. I can't help wondering whether the semen "donor" was a man or a woman, any biologists at hand to help with this conundrum?
9. and exactly who would be looking into how the 21 yr old policeman had more money than he should? Have you ever seen the carpark at police stations, or worse still, the land offices? Lot of luxury automobiles on display.
10. On the subject of electoral integrity, does anybody know if Thailand requires official photo ID to register to vote? Is voting limited to Thai citizens? Does the Thai voting authorities hand count the ballots with observers permitted, or use vote counting machines owned by supporters of Prayuth and which is illegal to question the validity or ask for an audit? Prayuth will be aware that just "winning" an election is not sufficient. He must win what is clearly a free and fair election, which means the result is able to withstand scrutiny. Otherwise other than fans of the government, nobody will believe the results which leads to a highly divided society and the need for ever more draconian censorship and an end to the concept of democracy. Which is a major failure if it comes to that.
11. I see no evidence the Martians are laughing at Biden. But I do see evidence - both well researched and with numerous examples of Biden being severely cognitively impaired by Russian media(you know, while the American left don't notice it, the enemy states do - funny that). "Russia accuses Biden of having dementia" "Komsomolskaya Pravda, a pro-Kremlin newspaper headquartered in Moscow, recently published an article questioning whether Biden is "in his right mind" and listed five examples of "dementia that can be found in the President of the United States."" https://news.yahoo.com/russia-accuses-biden-having-dementia-191937346.html I suspect Prayuth has noticed that what is dishonestly dismissed as just a stammer by the MSM and other "credible sources", most others will find it hard to see what an alleged speech impediment has to do with Biden telling ridiculous lies about his past, letting rip in front of British royals, shaking hands with thin air and being ordered around and supervised by an Easter bunny. One area of common ground the 2 have is their need for draconian censorship to give an illusion of legitimacy. Of course only the fans of the 2 men agree either are legitimate.
12. My opinion is irrelevant. Putin's opinion is what matters. He has already stated that other nations arming Ukraine and interfering would be construed as them joining the war = being legitimate targets. I am not sure the soft and spoiled new generations in the west are prepared for a wake up call from Russia.
13. I am wondering whether Boris is prepared to have Russia attack the UK? I guess he is not. But by joining in the Ukraine/Russia conflict he has made the UK a legitimate target. Time to get out of big cities IMO, Putin is no soft touch.
14. Ouch. Wife and I booked an overseas holiday returning to Thailand intentionally just after July 1st to avoid the Thai pass and testing nonsense. Don't suppose this is justification to ask for a full refund from the airline?
15. Sorry to hear this. Their journalist Owen Shroyer was excellent, his live videos taken at leftist events interviewing the public was hilarious. I found Jones unwatchable due to his irritating voice, but you must admit he has been proven spot on about most important world issues. Of course he was wrong about Sandy Hook and is paying the price for that. Well fair is fair, if getting important narratives wrong leads to lawsuits and bankruptcy this will have ramifications for MSM. I suppose other media outlets like the Atlantic, Politico, Reuters, MSNBC, CNN, Wapo etc will be in Infowars shoes in a few years time after their intentional misinformation and supressing irrefutable evidence of a presidential candidates corruption in order to game an election. A much more serious journalistic breech than getting a school shooting narrative wrong. What's good for the goose.... edit to add - I can't believe he sold like $150m of his nutritional supplements in 3 years. Just incredible.
16. Finally a voice of reason and logic. In the vacuum of US leadership this comes at a crucial time. Hopefully his wise words will be listened to and acted upon. “It doesn’t make sense that Russia and Ukraine aren’t sitting down and working out some kind of an agreement. If they don’t do it soon, there will be nothing left but death, destruction, and carnage. This is a war that never should have happened, but it did. The solution can never be as good as it would have been before the shooting started, but there is a solution, and it should be figured out now—not later—when everyone will be DEAD!” President Donald Trump https://thehill.com/policy/international/3272341-trump-calls-for-russia-and-ukraine-to-reach-agreement-to-end-war/ Well said sir. I agree the solution here is peace, not ever ratchetting up the tension by constant propaganda and arming one side and effectively leading us inevitably to full on WW3 and the extinction of humanity and life on earth. Clearly if an able person was President he/she would have been able to broker a deal - moreso if the art of the deal was in their blood.
17. Well clearly science can change in the space of a few seconds. On April 30th the restrictions are necessary otherwise this deadly terrifying virus will run amok and wipe us out, yet a second after the clock strikes midnight the virus will retreat even though restrictions are dropped. How fascinating. The other possibility is that the response was political in nature... You decide.
18. I drive past a speed cam all the time. Speed limit is 90kph. I tried every speed to see how the camera is set. Result of this research is if I go faster than 120kph we get a letter, if 119kph or below its fine.
19. Ah I see. So the bill does not say anything about gays. Thanks for admitting it. But then a few minutes later you are off on your misinformation/disinformation spree. Curious how such clear disinformation as misnaming a bill with a name that has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual contents of the bill, solely to be inflammatory is permitted here? Most odd.
20. I have given you fair opportunity to back up your hysterical bigotry and disinformation with facts. Of course you can not do this. Because your whole premise is false. The bill has absolutely nothing to do with not saying gay. Enough of my time wasted arguing with fantasist haters, good day to you.
21. err.. I missed the part where you pointed out exactly where the bill says "don't say gay". Are you confirming the whole "don't say gay" is yet another in a long long line of disinformation campaigns by the left leaning mainstream media? Certainly looking that way. as for your "Obviously you are attempting to flame this topic" canard, it is clear that the left are inflaming emotions around a sensible anti-grooming bill by falsely claiming it is discriminatory against the LGBT community. Again, let's try keeping things based in reality rather than making false and inflammatory claims- such as your claim the bill is a "don't say gay" bill, which we have confirmed is 100% nonsense.
22. Meanwhile, back in the real world. "We've given Ukraine nearly €1 billion. That might seem like a lot but €1 billion is what we're paying [Vladimir] Putin every day for the energy he provides us with. Since the start of the war, we've given him €35 billion, compared to the €1 billion we've given Ukraine to arm itself." https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2022/04/06/eu-has-spent-35bn-on-russian-energy-and-just-1bn-on-aid-borrell
23. Can any of the experts on this bill point to the exact part/direct quote from this anti grooming bill that states "don't say gay"? After a long line of increasingly bold disinformation campaigns from the same media that is attacking this bill, I am wary the don't say gay narrative is also totally fallacious. Luckily my kids and grandkids are grown up now. But if I had a 4 or 5 year old that was being groomed/sexualized by "teachers" I would have been somewhat peeved. To put it mildly.
24. Anybody know where my wife can apply in Samui for permission to have a couple of plants? And is there any guarantee that we will not be extorted for the usual 30-80k baht for possessing ganga/or attempts to possess from the local uniformed gangsters assuming the license to grow a few plants is not immediately issued?
