I live in the immediate area of Silver Lake, off the 331 Road. Lovely and quiet, but close to the new By Pass motorway, so I can be in North Pattaya in under 20 minutes.

All were localized Wars, not 'World Wars'. We haven't had a World War since 1945 and that is due to the generation that fought it. The 'cold war' was won by my generation. In addition, many of those you quoted were intended to keep a wider peace, even if they were eventually unsuccessful in achieving that laudable aim. The Falklands and Korean wars were necessary and largely successful. Vietnam was a stupid cluster fxxx.

How do you know what 'my generation' is? The generation that have now reached old age have given the World relative peace and prosperity for decades, not to mention scientific advances in all fields. Let's wait and see what these woke infested, social media obsessed, AI controlled, Gen Z make of it, I suspect not much.

Fury grows over Tory visa rules where ‘only the rich’ dare fall in love
Doctor Tom replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Nurses are low earners , I never said they were low life's. . The low life's are those who pose here as wealthy. only for their poor victims to find out that they are the opposite of that in the UK. Do try to read what is written before you resort to the keyboard. -

Immigration 800K Requirements No Passbook

And it is contravention of the rules and you take that at your own risk. Accounts with a passbook do not need to take any risk. It's just plain common sense. -
Fury grows over Tory visa rules where ‘only the rich’ dare fall in love
Doctor Tom replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
The country doesn't need any more low earning potential people, the UK has enough of them. Too many unknowing Thai ladies have hitched up to low life's who can splash the cash on holiday, only to end up in some hovel somewhere in UK with a low earner. ITV had a documentary on this very subject some years back and the US programme '90 Day Fiancée, covers the same subject. Own house, no renters, no mortgage, then maybe £38,700 is enough, otherwise it certainly is nowhere near enough. -

They are unaffected by the new rules -
The reason that they throw all of there travel documents over board is that they are not refugees, with a legitimate case for refugee status, but are actually economic migrants and the UK is too soft, stupid and liberal that it can't or won't stop them. They enter and many just disappear into the country, never to be seen again, or processed. The others sit around and take the generous benefits that the idiot country provides, at massive cost to the UK taxpayer.

Immigration 800K Requirements No Passbook
Doctor Tom replied to JWNZ's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Then why in God's name put your 'immigration money' into an account that you know has no passbook, when a passbook is a requirement by immigration? -

The limit is £38,700. Frankly, if your income, pre tax, is below this, you have no business sponsoring anyone into the country.- 243 replies

Where are you doing Xmas Day?
Doctor Tom replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I'd kill the anti social bxxxxxd who penned Jingle Bells. The Thai stores play it on a loop, from November until Song Kran, it drives me crazy. -

Pattaya is the last place on Earth where you need to be alone for more than a few minutes of arriving. 3,000 Baht paid to the right person will guarantee company for 24 hours or more. -
Where are you doing Xmas Day?
Doctor Tom replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I think Thanksgiving was started by the new arrivals in the Americas, to thank the Native Americans, before their land was stolen, they were killed in their thousands and sent to reservations. Seems to me that there is even less reason to celebrate that now? In the modern World, a good many of us can enjoy any dinner we want, at any time that we want. There is nothing special about any day of the year to the even reasonably well off. All of these holidays are designed and perpetuated, and even invented ( Black Friday), for multi Nationals to sell their stuff. I need and want none of it. -

Where are you doing Xmas Day?
Doctor Tom replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Yep. there's nothing like spending double the normal amount on a meal out, just because some bloke, who may or may not (probably not) have been born on that date 2,000 odd years ago. The Calendar was different in those days, so the date is no doubt way off anyway, even if he existed at all. Sounds nuts to me, but there you go, it takes all sorts. -
