  1. Dear Folks, Everyone, by now, is aware of the most recent mental-illness-induced truck-related fiasco in the United States, a place where not all receive the medical treatment and support they should have, and probably deserve, as taxpayers. Unfortunately, in the mainstream news, very little serious analysis is provided to us consumers by the air-heads at such news outlets as Fox and Friends. Here is a serious analysis, provided by one of my Favorite Geeks, which sheds light on the dangers of paranoia. In my view, one must be mentally unstable to even consider buying a Cybertruck, if for no other reason than the fact that it is made of stainless steel, just as Superman was the Man of Steel. This speaks to one’s grandiosity in such circumstances as this one. This video is very short, and we can actually learn quite a bit from the second-half of this video. For example, if our friends notice that we are becoming a bit overly paranoid, then our friends will be more ready to intervene before we, too, rent a Cybertruck, and then run amok. So, first, please enjoy this great video analysis. Then, share your thoughts. What turned a special-forces soldier, one who seemed to have been doing all the right things in life, to suddenly drive his Cybertruck down the wrong path in life? I knew you would enjoy this Topic, and this amazing vid. Best regards, Gamma No: I do not suffer from paranoia nor from delusions of grandeur, any more than most of you. I feel sorry to see another human being who did not get the treatment to which he was entitled, after serving his country so bravely and gallantly. Also, this video makes mention of China and Drones, and so I know you will appreciate it.
  2. I am one of the few remaining elite long-stay tourists. I would like to see new rules which make it far easier for me to tourist in Thailand. No more 90-day reports....after 10 years. Also, automatic visa renewal after 10 years. This would be good. Also, after 10 years with no infractions, this is just one less thing the authorities need to worry about. How much more elite does one need to be, than me?
  3. Your GF is very smart. Don't take Tramadol for more than a week. The smart doctors on Taiwan, at Taiwan University Hospital agree with your GF. Tramadol is quite an insidious type of painkiller since it has two major effects on the CNS. Just do not take it for more than 10 days. Unless, one is sure that one will soon be dead from cancer, or something.... Then...just take anything you like.
  4. No worries because Trump will soon be able to pardon himself.
  5. Laws change. I am only speaking from my own experience.
  6. Can't say that I have. On my CB450s...riding around Martha's Vineyard... I wore a bathing suit.... Or nothing at all. 90-miles an hour, girl, in a bathing suit. That's the speed I drive. Same as Jimi. And, I wouldn't never be caught dead on a Dirt-Bike....neither.
  7. One seems to show the American with an Asian woman. They are both dressed up to look like they are IDK..... Mountain people with green suits and boots. Freaky looking. But, his friends might actually be his GF. Is she Thai.... That is my question.
  8. Anyway, I did find this important notice while searching ....
  9. Were you on the debate team at high school when you were young? Just wondering because, In a previous comment you stated that you would not reply to my comments. And now, here is another one. Just curious, is all.....
  10. I beg to differ. For sure, I bought TWO motorcycles, a HONDA 450 and CB450. I rode them the day they arrived from the dealer. I had zero training. I had a car drivers license. No problem shifting, by the way. No problems, whatsoever. And, I knew the rules of the road, having driving cars for three years. I rode the Honda 450 from the Main Line to Marthas' Vineyard, on toll roads, and on every other kind of road. Zero problems. But, I sold it because I rode it full throttle everywhere. One of us had to go. And, I decided it would be the Honda, instead of me.
  11. What a piece of junk. This, actually, does not even look roadworthy. And, it must be very loud. So, I would bet the old lady heard this bike, and it was the last sound she heard. I think it is very frustrating to consider that an old lady may have been rundown by a speeder, and one from another country. Still, one must wait for the facts. And, one hopes that the facts will surface in this case.
  12. Simple. SPEED KILLS. And, it was speed that killed this January, in CM, when the old lady was plowed down by the American. Unfortunately, there is no black box in these dirt-bikes. Also, when driving, one needs to ANTICIPATE.....and too few drivers do this. They just continue at the same speed, and do not adjust their speed for the conditions and environment. I will not ride with a driver like that. NO WAY!
  13. In the USA, you do not need to attend any training course to get a motorcycle license. You just need to be able to pass the very simple test: Also, where I got my license in the USA... a. If you have a car drivers license, then you can automatically legally ride a motorcycle. b. But, a motorcycle license will not be sufficient to drive a car or light truck, I have never heard of attending a course as being a prerequisite for getting a motorcycle license. America is not Russia, after all. Americans would be up in arms if required to take a course before receiving a motorcycle license.
  14. Yes. I saw that one, too. And, I found a few academies which offer training. And, a course should be a requirement. But, they are not, unfortunately. Also, maybe up the age to 30 for motorcycle riders. That would save lives.
  15. After checking, there actually are schools in the uSA which train riders to ride: Not sure though, if the rider in question was trained at one of these academies.
  16. OK. Let's not be so quick to throw her out of the aircraft.
  17. When you talk of "Trained Riders". Are you speaking of equestrian training? Nobody trains most motorcycle riders in the USA. Who would train them? Who would be willing to be trained? Nobody. They buy a bike and then.....it's just... Born to be Free..... On the open road. Let's wait until we see his driving history before making a judgement one way or another. Also, it's unfortunate that, so far, there is no video cam images. If the tourist had stayed in America, then that old lady would still be alive. And no need for anyone to say....sorry.
  18. Actually, Thai people drive a lot better than most Farang are willing to admit. This seems to be due to some type of bias. Whenever I am riding around, in a car, very seldom see bad driving, or unsafe driving. The driving in the US is worse, please believe me. The road rage is also worse. But, in the US, far, far fewer motorbikes. This is the major cause of higher death-toll....I would imagine. Americans are NOT careful drivers, on average. Some have said that this guy will not do jail time, even if found to be at fault. This is not good. And, what is this guy's driving record in the USA....I WOULD like to see his past driving record...for sure. One's driving record history tells a lot. At age 38, anyone will be able to tell if this guy is an habitually reckless-speeding driver. Also, any DUIs? Etc. We need that record.
  19. Why would two bikes be riding ALONGSIDE each other? To chat and become distracted from what is up ahead on the road? Was he also checking his phone? How many months had he spent in a country where traffic travels on the opposite side from roads in the US? Did he only have an international license? I am looking forward to a LOT more information on this tragedy. Tourists need a month-long course, and a learner's permit, not a license, for the first 6 months, and then... Hopefully by then, they will be long gone.
  20. Also, why was this guy riding around on the roads during the 10-Days of Danger? If I were ever to be run down by a vehicle, I would not wish it to be an American. I would prefer a Thai person. But, maybe I could get more money out of the American? Anyway, I do not drive in Thailand because.... I worry about just this kind of accident. I do not want to be responsible for injury or death to another. Maybe some don't care? I would rather pay money to be driven, rather than take the risk. Each to his own, I guess.
  21. Justice is mine, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19 All we want is justice. Justice, but not justice at any cost.
  22. Best to think ahead....before It's too late to say you're sorry. Don't ride in Thailand until you've been here 10 years. What was he thinking? Get out of my country!
  23. Will you choose to do something exciting? Such as skydiving? As I recall, Bush enjoyed skydiving in his old age. But, you will need to wait 9 more years if you wish to compete with Bush. https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2014/jun/13/george-bush-sr-celebrates-90th-with-skydive-video I could do this. But, I would not do this. However, I might have thrown Barbara out without her chute.
