  1. When she talks of "counting heads", she causes me to think of the old wives tale: No doubt, the Thai mother is under great stress. Wouldn't you be? She must be a caring mother, or why would she have taken her children to the beach?
  2. Fritz Lang: Incredible film. AI: Cannot TOP Lang, not even in 3535 Perhaps, the less humans rely on AI, then the more creative they become. Note.... Very nice YT HD Metropolis here.... This is what Germany was before the Nazi. Such a blessing. And, such a creative culture, in the arts. Unfortunately, they created a monster. It can happen here, too....
  3. Would it be better to have: a. Expensive tastes b. Good taste c. Or, like Trump: Both good taste and expensive tastes In your opinion....
  4. Steve Bunyan has always been somewhat of a loose cannon. He gave a very nice talk at the Oxford Union, sometime back. I enjoyed his presentation. And most inside the closed doors of the Oxford Union Debating Chamber... listened with due respect. They held their noses.... But paid due respect, still the same.
  5. If only I would (or could) stop posting 'from the heart', then I might live longer. Still, I hope to last until the year 2526, and I remain filled with optimism. I believe that people here see some hope for me, yet. Just as I see great hope for our forum. Let's all grow together, this New Year..... My best wishes, for sure.
  6. Dear Folks, I never thought I would make it to the year 2525. Yet, here we are. Why? Must be good genes.... Right? So, the question is..... Do you think you will make it to 3535? If you believe in God, then you will.....indubitably so. But, will Man still be alive? Already, we have cried a TRILLION Tears..... Has it all been worth it? If so, and you believe it, then do you have any valid evidence to support your view? I really never believed that I would live to the year 2000, at least I never believed this back when I first heard this tune. 1969 was a very good year..... It was a very good year for small town girls And soft summer nights We'd hide from the lights On the village green When I was seventeen Now, having lived to the year 2525, which really was not so easy.... We will be sad to go, when we must. Yet, maybe better to go now, rather than to live until the year.... 3535. Nothing remains the same. At least for us. Those who see Time progressing in only one direction. Do you ever try to escape, if only in your own mind.... To better times. When you were seventeen. Does anybody still recall: FRIDAY WITH FRANK? I know that I do. Such nostalgia, you don't want to know about it. 2525 will be a very good year for all. But, still, this year will be shorter than last year. The aging process, so tragically, causes time to be perceived as traveling faster, and faster, the older we become. 2524 has now passed, and RIP. On with 2525...now.... Only a few more days to go...until 2526. Best regards, And don't dwell too much on your waning years. Gamma
  7. Thank you. I will read it. I am always interested in Toilet Paper, for toilet's sake. The Guardian likes this book. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2024/sep/18/character-limit-by-kate-conger-and-ryan-mac-review-musks-twitter-takeover I will be very happy to read this book....as long as I do not have to pay for this book. I will not pay for it because Kate is just a blogger, and I do not pay to read output written by bloggers....or flappers, either.
  8. so then.... a. This seems to be the revenue....46 billion USD. b. But, what is the cost, in billions of USD? Meaning TOTAL cost to the environment, etc. c. What is the real net benefit, in USD? Just asking.... Note: Just viewing the image included in the topic....who would wish to be a member of this bunch?
  9. When it get's hot...and.... I hope it get's hot soon.... I will go to the rooms in my house in which I have AC blasting. I have enough AC power to cool my rooms down to about 22-degrees C....even when.... The outside temps rise to almost 43-degrees C. I am working on that, too..... If I put in more insulation.... I can get the temps down to about 18-degrees C.....even on the hottest day in Thailand. It's all about insulation, and also about having an over-sized AC. I like it when I exit my bedroom, or my living room, or my study, into the outside air...and then.... My glasses fog up, and stay that way, for about 10 minutes or more. Reminds me of my many years in HK when I used to exit most HK businesses, well-cooled, into the South-China-Sea air.... So many great and fantastic memories have I made....there in HK. Maybe I will return to Hong Kong, during the Hot Season, just in order to cool off a bit. Thailand is too hot in April. Hong Kong is not. Or, maybe I will just go to visit Jeff Beck, where it's hotter..... Jeff Beck Group - Got the feeling 03-25-1972
  10. Yes. Glad you agree. All those who plan to emigrate to the USA should be given an IQ test. Preferably the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS). I REALLY wish this could be put into law. Who want's a dummy-immigrant for a neighbor, not just in the USA.....but.... Anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????? Here in Thailand, for example: a. I would not wish to have some dumb-Farang for my neighbor. b. I think the Thai gov should require an IQ test for all those wishing to secure a One-Year-Visa, for any reason. c. As for the tourists, we all know that most are, in the majority, dumb as a rock. So, they would never score above 98 on the Wechsler. Still, they should be given a pass to enter the Kingdom because..... Their dumb antics make for good reading here on TV, anytime they show themselves for what they truly are.....on the local TV News.
  11. Many unis, including the IVYS are making it possible for students to opt out of the SATs. This does not mean that they do not need to take the SATs..... It just means that after they take the SATs, then they can choose to not have their SAT scores considered by the admissions committee. This is a cop-out, though. And, I don't really get the logic of this. Maybe you do?
  12. He should have invested in a good set of racing tires (tyres).
  13. We need to weed-out dumb immigrants. We need to welcome smart immigrants. This is all that Musk is asking for, after all. The IQ Test is the best way to protect America's southern border.
  14. What we have here is a failure to communicate. Also, perhaps, in addition to two damaged vehicles, there may have been at least one damaged prefrontal cortex in the mix.
  15. Agree. Leave him alone to his tomatoes...
  16. Nothing to fear but fear itself.
  17. Just another two meat-heads, was it?
  18. a. Improve my Thai language vocabulary knowledge b. Use my Thai skills to post all my Topics on TV....100-percent...in the Thai language.
  19. If this were put in place to intentionally stop aircraft, then the designers are stupider than even I imagined. But, I have not see that this was the purpose of the berm.
  20. He just wants to have smart people. And far fewer dumb ones. We need to bring back the SATs and IQ tests.
  21. It's possible that the earthen berm had been covered, or partially covered, with concrete. But, the mass of the earthen BERM is what proved to be completely impenetrable. And, it was just like flying directly into the ground. There is just too much that went wrong, including pilot error, etc.
