  2. Their reporting is getting worse everyday ... IMHO Photo isn't even current ... "A view of the city amid air pollution in Bangkok, Thailand, February 2, 2023. REUTERS/ Chalinee Thirasupa" And when was 70 'points' ? ever considered 'good'. That would be 'moderate'.
  3. Yes & No ... chickie stopped me for peek, stating ... "you come TH a lot, every month, why" "I have wife" "OK, go ahead, not prob" Males ... not so friendly.
  4. Thanks, but I'm well aware of Australia, island, country, continent, as I did attend school. USA immigrants, legal & illegal also come from all over the world. About 1M legal, and 1-2M illegit a year attempt to gain entry. Also know many parts of OZ are beautiful, just not as diverse as the USA. Not a slight, just a fact, and didn't mean to offend any of you delicate Aussies. Mountains is stretch, and highest is only 2228m. And I have a very good idea, thank you.
  5. NO ... she's peeked a couple time when next to me, and simply rolled her eyes ... to be kind. It would actually be embarrassing if she read AN, in all manners of thinking. She, like myself, can't understand the hatred of TH & Thais, and people still live here. Though realize now, most members don't live here, which seems even weirder. She probably wonders why I bother at all, with some of my comments, while reading: pervs, grumpy, ignorant, stupid, bigots ... just a few of my thoughts, while scanning some threads ... She does appreciate the solar & EV info we got ... 👍 From my first query when joining, and reason for. Not realizing it was TV rebranded. Oh well, such is life.
  6. Obviously from the vid, I know locally it's the land of pineapples (Batavia), coconuts & rubber, more so the former. Though didn't know 37% of the province is dedicated to pineapples. A good thing, as take 1-2 years to yield fruit, and may fruits again. If making the effort, the plant has a 'pup' plant, which may produce another. "Only one fruit is produced per pineapple plant. Sometimes you can harvest a second crop, the ratoon crop. Remove all pups but one ratoon (a pup emerging from underground). This pup will develop into a mature plant and produce a fruit in the same space." That's all a good thing, keeping the air pollution from burning down, vs rice, sugar & corn crops. burning once or even twice a year, to prep for planting of the latter crops. Same with coconuts, though the palms are collected and if not used, burned. So all 3 main crops are a bit more eco friendly on the local air pollution, than other areas growing rice, sugar & corn. Thailand being the 6th largest producer of Pineapples, (slipping from 4th (2017) and there's a Dole processing plant up the road a bit, west of Hua Hin. Along with plenty of collection stations off Hwy 4/Phetkasem Road. Think the rest is all common knowledge. Hua Hin as main tourist destination, then beaches southward, attracting less foreigner, and more locals that tire of Hua Hin's congestion & prices. North to south; Pranburi, Sam Roi Yot, KuiBuri, Bo Nok, Prachuap Khiri Khan/Ao Manao, Thap Sakae, Ban Krut & Bang Saphans before entering Chumphon. It's quite the long province, along with being one of the thinnest, at <15 kms in some stretches. Hills to the west, easily visible, w/Myanmar on the other side of. From the back wall: South of the house, all coconut groves as far as one can see:
  7. Update on milk power, as once read you couldn't froth it, for my cappuccino. The Diary Rich frothed up with no problem, same as regular full cream milk. Increased about 100% volume ☕
  8. Tires still looking good, as peeked at last service (20k) and had then rotated. Engineer ... yea, that thought crossed my mind, if able, practical/cost wise, if able to make a better tire. I know they make different for different speeds & weights, but have they max out on specs. 33k ... whoa. Don't think I ever spent more the 10k for a set. Know they'll be more for the MG ZS. Nothing to compare to, as didn't need tires for the ZS (ICE) as only had 40k kms on it when sold.
  9. W T F ... file a complain my A$$, I'd show up at the school, and bring bail money with me. I had an issue with one teacher at daughter's school, when she told her she would do the shaving thing that they like doing if her hair was compliant, which it was, just not to that teacher's liking. I told the teacher I'd shave her whole F'g head if she touched my daughter.
  10. We've averaged about 20k kms a year since I've been here, and seems to be very consistent, as put 20k on the EV at the 1 year mark. Tire manufacturers could always just make a better tire, or we'll just have to change more often. Our EV is 500kg more than the ICE version. Plus for us, it's just the 2 of us and the dog, not really hauling any extra people/weight around. If that's about the only added negative owning an EV, then I'm happy. Not having a couple 1000 more parts to worry about is a fair trade "How many car parts are in ICE vs EV? In fact, there are about 20 moving parts in an electric engine, compared to nearly 2,000 in an ICEV! EVs are very cheap to run because they do not rely on petrol or diesel ..."
  11. Yes, and an island that happens to be the #6 largest country. You got sand (dessert) & beaches and diverse temps. Over 90% of the place, people avoid and don't even bother living there, as a bit too harsh. Although if had the choice, surfside is still the way to go. Definitely agree with TH beaches being sub par. If not for the pollution and tourist, Andaman beaches would be excellent. Outer less developed islands are probably nice, but too logistic for us. I think your mountains are even smaller than the Appalachians (Easterm USA) On topic, USA having very diverse landscape, with some amazing National Parks that highlight it.
  12. Watched that last, quite enjoyable. Agree, ignore the woke silliness, as it is the future, and bigotry can't last forever
  13. Yep ... mind boggling how they were scared into compliance, along with all the other aspects of stupefy that I can't mention. Taking 'Sheeple' to a whole new embarrassing level. Great entertainment though, watching it unfold. Praying for a new pandemic, as that was the best 3 years of O&As while playing tourist. Some days it seemed like I hade the whole country to myself. Less than 10 people on most of the beaches of Phuket, during high season ... pure BLISS
  14. And ... sh!t floods, nobody using either. What's your point ?
  15. Competition is a bi-atch. As MG found out here/TH. As BYDs & GWMs get sent internationally, Tesla is definitely feeling it. I was surprised of some of the QC issues that came out of the factory, the on YT'er pointed out. For the price, no, they shouldn't exist. Fit & finish and cost of some parts,, from another vid, owner having for years, loves it, but cost of some of the replacement/upgrade parts over those years were eye watering.
  16. So the bridge was obviously already planned, and probably construction already started, when OP was posted ...
  17. Actually the post/photo implies it's an everyday thing, which it may or may be. Irresponsible yes, but their is levels of safety, some acceptable. Was it simply a very short transfer of students from small village to a bus stop ? Was it a one day thing, hopefully short drive in safe are from designated spot, to a school, or elsewhere because the regular van used was in the shop. Could have been a short hop from school to certain area (beach or park) for a bit of trash cleansing, as they do here, though close enough to walk. Did it even involve the school ? Was an 'escorted' drive from school to a launching point for one the their street parades ? Does look to be sporting attire, maybe short hop to playing field. Or it could have been on irresponsible daily school run, although when packing them in on a daily bases, usually have wooden 'bench' crossways in the truck bed.
  18. Without knowing it's a really small country, I probably couldn't find it on a map. I only know where it is about, because geography interests me, and I did work for an international airlines. Why the hell does a Thai person need to know where Luxembourg is. That's one useless piece of info. I know if the world was to go sh!t, I'd seek out Thais before expats, as I know most of them can live off the land. Electric would go out, Lotus's & Villa Markets would close and expats would starve.
  19. Or anyone else ... IMHO I actually prefer RTnews over the echo box of MSM
  20. A photo with no content ... meaningless
  21. Back to 100%, finally. Usually done before 10:00, but since still overcast and sun made an appearance for <1 hr, not bad at all.
  22. How he has made a career out of it, for the past 50+ yrs is a testament to the stupidity of at least half the voters.
  23. All good point, though do disagree with a couple; ... CS network is really good in TH ... Battery issues .. I think most don't have to worry about that moving forward. Especially if LFP batteries are used, and should outlast the rest of the car. At 20k km a year, there no reason why you shouldn't get 20+ yrs out of the battery pack, trouble free. Yes, and agree, EV isn't for you, since can't charge at home, and a bit impatient to do while O&A. Those would definitely be the 'cons' if applicable to people's circumstances, for TH. Actually surprise the 'lack of haters' posting, and hope it's a trend. As most discussions have been quite civil, and people sticking to the facts and own opinions. Any luck and the other EV threads will remain the same, and almost on topic.
