  1. You're joking ... right ? I had to look at my phone, having DTAC. You mean the scrolling thingy, top left ? And that actually bothers you ? Do you spend a lot of time staring at your locked phone with the display actually on. Why I never noticed it before ... thanks, now I'll be losing sleep
  2. You can, but will it get approved and or, receive your notice that it was approved in time, Was done though, online is so easy, and they seemed to sorted it out. Hasn't crashed in quite some time. Did mine the other day online, and got approved the next day. That was pretty impressive, and a first, as usually takes up to a week.
  3. I noticed them last night for the first time. Those and some sushi rolls. Test them next time on the road 👍 Should have ate the gra pao spaghetti. Don't think I'll be getting the pork noodles w/pork wontons in the future The Kit Kat choco cake with wake up coffee was decent ... though seems to be shrinking. Wish they'd keep things the same size, and just raise the price, although probably healthier, as don't need that much sugar. Guess they'll raise the price next month, after the shrinkage ... 🙄
  4. Hope that tasted better than it looks. I'm have 7-11 grub this AM myself, and even gave myself 2 options Old stand by, gra pao pasta or pork & noodles w/pork dumplings
  5. Well ... it all Depends 🙄 ... yea, I know, weak, oops, did it again. Sorry, couldn't help myself. Time to see a doc, as suggested. Don't know myself of any meds that would help with that. Good Luck
  6. Only you can answer that question, if it's worth selling & buying here, or shipping. I get it though. I really like my Schwinn bike, so I converted it. Hindsight, for different reasons, I should have left well enough alone, and simple bought an ebike here, especially after @BritManToo's successful purchase with BkkBike, as that's who I was looking at to buy at. They give you the option for better spec'd battery if wanting. The only real question mark, that I had. At the time I thought they were pricey, now know it's simple the market price for quality. If you really like your bike that much, yes, keep it. Depending how long you've had it, you may even consider buying another battery for it, before shipping it. Weigh the cost of shipping from maker to TH vs cost of new one here. Depending on proprietary connection of same. Age of battery, as 18650s are so yesterday Even the one I have, made with 21700s have been improved, I think, with 26650s. Even saw one 32XXX, though didn't read much about it, as not nearly ready to upgrade. Consider Thai roads are not as friendly, and you may want a better suspension, even fatter tires, depending on you use of. Since you are already here, I'd pop into BkkBike and check them out, before making a decision. Happy shopping or shipping.
  7. Did you click on 'foreigner' and register. It really is too simple. Or, you could just pop in and ask them. Thought I answered your query. Prove who you are, and where you live. Was 3 yrs ago, and not sure if needed a med cert or not, Possibly, the DLT site lists what you need or pop in and ask. PP yellow book or CoR current license med cert ???? DLT elearning # from site
  8. Yea ... that was my chuckle on his/her/it's post, as I'm not much of a Hua Hin fan at all. Used to be a regular stop for couple days, 10-15 years running, starting in 2001. Really nice then. Now, I might pop into the mall, if needing something, but that's it. Actually here now, and not even going to bother with the mall. I wonder how many of those islands he/she/it's been to, to form the opinion that they are ruined.
  9. I read it the same way .... he's shipping UK to TH, but agree, might consider selling battery there, and buying new here, if possible. Though suspect very proprietary connector, and could be an issue. UPS ... may be in for some heavy price shock, and then hit again when it arrives, as was the case for me one time, and took quite a lot to sort it out. I'd never use any of the 'known' folks; fed ex, dhl, ups as just silly priced.
  10. Thanks ... yea that took a while, and didn't think it was coming back.
  11. @Colonel_Mustard yes, I was comparing with 'non o' not the O-A, as unfamiliar with the specifics of that one. Sorry, hope didn't confuse anything.
  12. yes, for retirement visa, though not sure what's needed for first. I was more thinking about the extension of, once in country. Marriage requires additional paperwork for wife. Along with all needed for retirement visa. Only advantage with marriage is half the financial proof needed.
  13. less paperwork, instant approval (no 30 day wait), and Imm can be a bit more lax with rules, after they get to know you. YMMV
  14. go to DLT site, and everything you need is listed there. Proof of address, not necessary to have CoR, as yellow book is accepted. Need to watch vid, or at least, sit in the room. The usual eye, color blind, depth perception & reaction test. Need to do the exam on the DLT site, then follow instructions.
  15. @Conan The Barbarian If really enjoy the culture, then just about anywhere. Though personally, I would settle somewhere well below Hua Hin, as even there or further north, you'll need to deal with 4-6 months of unhealthy smog, every year. Chumphon or below. If wanting decent swimming beach, 'when cooperation, then maybe Ban Krut, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. But we're talking really rural area. Lovely and almost settled there ourselves. Any of the provinces, Chumphon or below would suit use, away from the few touristy spots. How hot ... DAMN HOT, so consider that, but decent Gulf surf, sometimes, and the Andaman is lovely all year, though not so safe to swim in half the year. Southern landscape is lovely, especially the limestone karsts. Out of the tourist areas, less and less English spoken, except by the youngins, along with less western shopping options, unless in metro area, and only a few of those. Central Plaza are popping up in most provinces now, or at least a Robinson's, Tops and or Makro.
  16. Huge tourist wat. Actually quite nice, as we popped in, and besides us, just a few tourist there. No entrance fee, and no issue parking 'then', free, and some decent food vendors around it, at the time. Drove by couple years later and yikes ... really crowded.
  17. I stopped buying their wings zap & zinger burger, as not the best value, and hit & miss of late. Tasty when spot on, but past few times, regretted afterwards. Street vendors (wings & burger) or 7-11 (pork burger vs zinger) are as good or better, and better values.
  18. We did that one time for Thanksgiving. Big mistake, well, eating the goose. Nice for all the other geese, as it was an old 'bully' goose, and too dominating at the pond. But, emphasis on 'old'. Toughest old bird I've ever eaten ... no wonder I like munching on birds much younger ... 😁
  19. Yikes ... had a few issues along the way. Might want to reconsider that oatmeal brekkie. I used to do a daily; corn flakes, oats, raisins & blueberries bowl of cereal in the morning. Swapped that out for 2 eggs instead now, and feel much better. Along with a bunch of other carbs & sugars, so can't say which, if any or all made the difference. Numbers are good, and I cut the statin out. One thing for sure, oat suck up the moisture in the digestive system, and as soon as I stopped eating, no constipation afterwards. Worth cutting out the oat just for that.
  20. good point, i'm bored, but someone did state, sad people won't waste 40 mins to watch, so guess I was replying to that though. But yes, waste a minute to type, now 2 mins Oh well, off the Hua HIn, and I could be half way there by the time that vid was over. Time management is important for us seasoned folks.
  21. Have to admit I stopped at just over 1 min. As that seemed to focus on WW3, which simply isn't going to happen. At least to the point I would concern myself. A conventional war would take years to plan, and a nuke war, well, no sense in worrying about that. Either won't happen, or the alternative. Nothing I can do, either way. Like they stated deep state might not allow Trump to be president, and something about big pharma's control. But no, not wasting 40 minutes, (that I can't get back) to listen to the same ol', whether I agree or disagree with them. Been around for shy of 70 years, and got a pretty good idea how the world works. Why I ignore most things, and just enjoy life. UP2U
  22. New shock over Prior Velho car park fire By Natasha Donn - 11th September 2024 The Prior Velho car park conflagration, initially blamed on an electric vehicle catching fire; later blamed on a short-circuit in a combustible engine car, has now delivered a new ‘shock’: it was not licensed as a car park. Well over 150 vehicles were destroyed; insurers have been faced with a massive bill, and now it transpires that the owners of the car park were only licensed as a warehouse. Parking on the top floor (where the fire began) was prohibited, says Correio da Manhã. The full story is being aired tonight in an exposé by CMTV at 9.30pm. (source)
  23. As with everything, simply buy one with quality specs & components. That's why you purchased the one you did. Use the BkkBike link as a guide to specs & prices locally. 250w seems a bit under spec'd for me. Mine is 1000w, and probably over spec'd, and surely affects my range, as 500w with same battery would probably give me more range. As of yet, haven't needed more range.
