  1. Only place I've seen so far, that might be iffy, is if going to the falls at Umphang. Although I didn't check all the apps. Of course, you could always find a guesthouse that would allow you to charge there overnight on your granny charger. Northwest border down to Mae Sot via MHS, may take a bit of planning. But the North is covered with enough. NE surprisingly (just looked) has more than enough. Along with the South. I've been in some remote areas, and yet to have any issues, or 'need' to use guesthouse/hotel to charge. I have once or twice, just for convenience. That's just DC fast chargers we're talking about. Doesn't include the slower 22w that a lot of malls, hotels and other vendors offer.
  2. Heading far North or Northwest ... no anxiety here ... and that's the very not all inclusive G maps Better knowledge = less anxiety
  3. Prior Velho, Portugal While initial reports suggested it started from an electric vehicle, the Civil Protection has not confirmed this https://aviation.direct/en/major-fire-in-parking-garage-near-Lisbon-airport
  4. Disagree ... it's completely irrelevant and off topic. EVs in TH, read the F'g OP Not about anything outside of TH. Start a new thread ... PLEASE, as you basically ruin every EV thread with your silliness. Here you go ... "ICEV & EV Fires ... worldwide" I come here for info about 'EVs in TH', not very often since you joined. Not here for world events. I have Google for that. If I want to know about EV fires in Portugal or Korea, I'll search for them. News Flash ... sh!t catches on fire at time. Thanks, I would have never guessed. Now you have threads for .... ... fires .... ICEV vs EV ... CS ... Owners PLEASE use them
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 60/100 My Time 154 seconds
  6. Too cool. See if you can borrow it for a hour or 2, and take a cruise. Lots or people have insurance for non dedicated drivers. I think I do, and always have. I've only seen them at charging stations, lots of them, as Neta V & Atto 3 seem to be the most we see. Daughter wasn't impressed with it, but she's driven ours. She went with the Atto 3, and minor styling difference aside, and they're , ZS & A3 are pretty much the same.
  7. They still had a few new ones from CH, listed for 409k, and I'm like ... 'honey...." She's like ... 'WTF ... you nuts. What you going to do with 2 cars?' Something wrong with me, I collect sh!t ... I had 30 drones at one time, 5 of them, I built from scratch, before they started selling nicer ones for less, so then I bought a bunch of them 😎 In the USA, it was firearms 🙄 I apparently have issues.
  8. We charge up at the 250-275 kms mark. Depending where and how long in the car already. Have taken to 325, but didn't leave much for margin of error, like 18% left. And damn if the one station was inop. Just went to the next one down the road, and think it was 12% left. That was a bit scary, and won't make that mistake again. 275 is 3-4 hours in the car, and we really need a break by then. Long drives are days past with me, and impossible with the wife & dog. Even I want out after 3 hours. Usually hungry and or got to P anyway. I use to drive a truck, have done 20 hrs, took a nap, and returned for 20 more. ZS has a 46.3kWh (usable) battery of 50.3kWh, NEDC range 403, very rare to get that WLTP RANGE 320, constantly exceed that. 360 per charge is about average, but like 50-75kms reserve, at least. We go pretty rural when O&A. More than enough stations for most not to even think about charging. Only if you go way off the beaten track, may need to plan a bit.
  9. 2022 MG ZS D model Had the ICE version before that, and got low market price for it. Only 2 yrs old & 40k kms. 2nd hand folks offered 400k, think that was insured value or 390k. Rather sell to a private person, and did get 400k for it. Quick sale (motivated seller ), and buyers market (covid), along with smalls-ville market. 450k was the high end market price Someone from Hua Hin bought it, 100 kms away. Which is where we bought the EV version anyway, as local MG dealer wasn't here yet. Opened about a year later.
  10. They were private sales, I think. Yours have lower kms than all I saw. Saw couple on one2car, or whatever that site is, for 300+K Some of the private sales were at the 300+k mark also. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/106581732707976/search?query=2012 toyota prerunner We trading in our 1 Vios, and 2nd hand folks gave us a decent price, like 10% about insured value. 2nd Vios, had to people bidding on it, don't know why they wanted, but got a good price for that. Mazda 2 nobody wanted it, so gave it to daughter, who squeezed 3+ years out of it, before it started crapping out, with <200k kms on it. She was happy to get 70k for it.
  11. 25kWh ... that's more than half our EV's battery, or about 200 kms of driving About ฿545 worth of petrol if getting 13.2 kms per Liter with your PreRunner. (200 ÷ 13.2 X ฿36 = ฿545) from FaceBook marketplace
  12. He's rich and doesn't share his money with me ... ... oh wait, I do have a couple cancelled checks here with his name on it. THANKS DON 👍👍
  13. And that's a wrap 35kWh produced, 30kWh consumed ACs (13 & 24BTUs) not really utilized to almost 1000 hr, and EV only plugged in for 3+ hrs (~7kWh). No long term kitchen appliances use. Short use of coffee machine, water kettle & microwave. Wife trimmed the hedges a bit, ~1 hr. Showers don't require water heater on, as comes out hot enough on sunny days. Most for the ACs, as hit a sunny 34°C today, and feeling like ... DAMN HOT 35kWh X 30 days = 1050 = ฿5215 PEA bill
  14. Agree, as the trip to the mall should have been a 'cooling down' time for him. Should have realized killing the other dude, because he now wanting to be with a different dude, wouldn't end well for anyone.
  15. When home, just chillin' ... ... live few kms from surf, so a few nice spot to chill at. Whether very local, sitting along seawall, or at swimmer's beach food court area, or a restaurant or coffee shop, somewhere in between Hua Hin & Ban Krut, in the hills or surfside.. Usually don't overnight locally, unless an event in Hua Hin, which TBH, haven't done in a long time. ... if O&A, pretty much same thing, chill at restaurant or coffee shop with a view. Usually have bungalow or a room with a view. Attend an event or festival if one is on. ... Sept 14, have 'Water Jousting' coming up at a Pranburi marina. Will overnight for that, and hopefully good for chuckle and a few snaps. Can it get any more exciting
  16. Not fast enough for edit ... car's done charging ... ... and ESS topped back up, as needed a bit, while charging. That partly cloudy skies, and used 10%, and now back to 100%.
  17. Pretty hard to beat a MC for TH, especially when it comes to parking in most towns. Not so bad here, PKK, except weekends, then the MC is needed. Everyone shopping and the weekenders, that give Hua Hin a pass.
  18. A day in the life ... ... ACs on, back from the park at noon-ish, and the car is charging
  19. Damn drones hooked me in. Then RC plane, cars, boats. On to MC, converted the Schwinn, now the MG ZS. You wouldn't believe the stuff I'm always looking at, and think about buying. Wife just rolls her eyes when she sees me scrolling through crap Even had one of those stand up scooters. Thankfully it crapped out the 1st day, as made return easy. Pretty cool, fast as all hell, and fun, till it wasn't. But not really practical living out of town. In town, it would have been a perfect mode of transport. Little sucker was expensive also, relative, but 21k baht. High reviews, great specs, just a one off I think. Just died, and could have been something simple, loose wire, bad relay. No questions on return, and refunded as soon as it was scanned when picked up. Got to love LAZMALL vendors.
  20. I've complimented the look of the Corolla Cross on the forum quite often. As see a lot of them when O&A. Is quite the nice looking ride 👍
  21. Don't try this, as didn't work for me. Turned out to be just a giant ground beef steak. Tasty as it was, with a mushroom sauce, nothing like the texture or look of a filet. https://www.facebook.com/reel/975716621018785
  22. My case was a few years ago, so check what current rules are now. I really can't see them forcing people to close accounts, that have IRAs, as stated, they fall under different tax rules, and would breach the agreement of opening them in the first place. Just my opinion ... due diligence on your part before letting them know you live in TH.
  23. Actually there is a Corolla Cross, & Yaris Cross. and a bit pricey IMHO, for what you're getting. Compare specs with comparable vehicles from CH, and I think you'll agree.
  24. Guess it depends on your brokerage, and their rules. I had changed mine to TH address & ph#, and they didn't say anything about that. Then within a year, I had changed it back to a USA address. Changed it back, because per rules, my no fee for ATM (international use) was suppose to be stopped, with international address. Though during that time, they still refunded the TH banks ATM fee. Except for * notification on the account, nothing really changed. Maybe because I have IRAs with them, different rules than a simple savings account, they can't legally make me close the accounts.
