  1. Simple, those with guns, control the power, people & economy. Same in every country.
  2. The ones out of my price range ... Porche Benz Actually the LR version of some of the 1.5ish M ones. All wheel drive, <4 secs to 100 kph. Higher end specs & price. Personally I think spending 1M for 4 wheels is a bit much. When they start hitting 1.5M baht & up, the starting price of a decent house, yea, that's higher end budgets, though they do come with high end performance, which I'd probably never need or use here. My LoSo <1M baht MG ZS is more than I'll need or will use here. A few of the top sellers a couple months ago, and 4 of those are 2+M baht. That's more than our house w/solar, and the adjacent w/greenhouse. (76k+1.2M+445k+250k+50k)
  3. I think that should be 'enhance' the Thai auto market. Only disrupt the JP 'made in TH' & imports market. Only 2 yrs ago, you only had 2 MG (BEVs) reasonably priced for sale. Now there's about 10, under 499k-1.7M baht, that are nicely spec'd, and more on the way. Something for every budget and use. Almost as many higher end BEVs for the ego boosters to be stroked.
  4. Drones have been banned in all Thai national parks for years, and any responsible operator would know that, or at least ask before attempting to fly ... anywhere.
  5. NO, and one of the best aspects of moving to a non Christian country, no more silly holidays.
  6. newer vid, but still has small stream to pass thru @ 2mins. vid 8 months old, so not rainy season
  7. Rescued ... Think you got that backwards, they rescued the foreigner from a sexless life
  8. Not just the Reps, as last budget bill passed, had little if any for UA, and control of the House (R- 222 seats, 50.6% / D-213 seats, 47.8% is fairly split, as is the Senate. New budget passed the Senate for 2024, and nothing for UA, I don't think, and again, it's 51/49 Dem/Rep Senate. There really isn't a 2 party system, with few exceptions, they are there to screw & divide tax payers.
  9. Same with our MG ZS, and by choice. Although for mere 70k baht more, could have gotten a lot more 'electronics' (inc seat adjustment), and a sunroof. Didn't want, or needed any of those, along with, most complaints of new auto owners, are the accessories, and seem to be the issues when having. Sure as hell didn't want a sunroof in the tropics, as see nothing positive about that, and quite the opposite. Everyone seems to have the drivetrains down to a science, EVs (CH) & ICEVs (JP). No real worries there.
  10. Above, last house .... below, present house's garden: VID_20231130_111056.mp4
  11. Since living with me, it's a 24/7 job ... no salary Before me; computer graphic design (clothing), Italian restaurant, and Thai restaurant
  12. You'd think I'd have a vid of me sitting drinking coffee, and a view of the front yard. NO, but here's an idea of one finished garden.
  13. "encountered a 3-meter-long snake" "skillfully captured the snake, measuring about one meter in length"
  14. Don't know about the legal issue, but good advert for the restaurant. Shame Gmap states 'permanently closed', though FB states temporary for renovations (settle legal issue ?). May have to revisit the east side of the Gulf, as it's been over a decade since I explored over there. Road trip
  15. Your OP doesn't even know what the chemical is, toxic or not. Just something was used, that nobody had to report. PURE SILLINESS A big nothing My biggest question ... "Why did I take you off that list ?"
  16. Quick reading, and I don't see it banned, if it is the 'secret chemical' in PA. Do you even know what it is ? How used, and where the use is restricted. Legislation is pending in PA, approved by Gov and passed in Republican controlled Senate. But didn't make it out of the Democratic controlled House. Not sure if below is pending or approved yet. "Pennsylvania: H.B.1122: Prohibits the sale and distribution of food packaging containing perfluoroalkyl or polyfluoroalkyl substances. H.B.1541: Prohibits firefighting personal protective equipment that contains PFAS. H.B.1571: Requires manufacturers affix a warning label to firefighting personal protective equipment containing PFAS chemicals.
  17. Agree ... along with the irrelevant mention of CO & PFAs 160,000,000 lbs of ??? ÷ 5000 (more than) wells = <32,000 lbs ÷ 10 yrs = <3200 lbs ÷ 365 day = <8.77 lbs a day < 8.77 lbs of secret chemical used a day, in a well For perspective ... ... 1 gallon of water weighs 8.34 lbs That is some scary stuff I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Better call my 1 brother, as still lives in PA, and advise him to sell up and leave ASAP. And for GOD sake, don't drink the water or breathe the air. Who knows what secret chemicals may have escaped from the wells. No prob ... air & water filters are 'Safe & Effective'
  18. Secret ... simply something they didn't need to report ... maybe water for all we know. A report about something that doesn't need to be reported ... classic.
  19. I agree with that also ... but that would be equal. Off topic ... I try to state that when it comes to paying taxes, 1 flat, across the board tax, with no tax deductibles or loopholes. But nobody I suggest that to likes it, as would mean, I'd have paid much less taxes, and they'd have to actually start paying their share of. vid is on topic, for true equality in sports, deal with it, or ....
  20. @vangrop Yea, that's one main reason also. Lucky if we average 1 meal a week out of the house. When living in Udon Thani, it was probably 3-5 meals a week, out of the house. When playing single parent, at least 5 meals a week out of the house.
  21. Way it's headed now, woman's (biological) sports will cease to exist. What's the point if having to compete against a man (biological). Once the current trained woman throw in the towel, why would any younger ones even consider training & competing against men. Need to make a 3rd category 'Trans Championship', but will never happen, as no money or profit to made there. Who would pay for that ? Same will happen with women's sports. Biological women will cease to compete, and products will cease to sponsor, and attendance or viewing will drop below profitability. It's already a bit of a joke. Just a matter of time.
