Tells you everything one needs to know. If you can't complete, shut the competition out. Screw the consumer, why should they have the best product for the best price -
Kind of like the very streamlined look of EV. Though all a bit similar looking, which really can't be helped if going for aerodynamics / less resistance. Have noticed some of the ICEVs lately, trying to get noticed with their 'unique styling' ... yikes.

Want to lead with that next time, so I don't waste my time reading the 'pre amble' to yet another P4P thread. -
So you'll be throwing all you electronics away that have batteries. My BEV doesn't use cobalt, so I'll keep it. Old tech batteries are only bad for the planet if used in EVs. Fine for anything that you use

Turning into a banana republic ... kill or jail the opposition. Shameful Love it or Leave it ... ... never mind, did that a couple decades ago -
Why I suggested renting for year in any complex one is thinking about buying in. Even though I was very familiar with PKK, we rented here for 1.5 years before deciding to build on the land we had for years. Knowing this will probably be our final move. Long term decisions take long term thought & research.

Russian Man Arrested for Carrying Fake Euros in Chonburi
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Great, another anti RU thread. Topic could be "Man arrested for fake money" Not sure I'm allowed to express my opinion about spreading hate, so I'll stop here Can't say I've seen or read a positive thread on AN about RU or CH, even most about TH is negative. Let that sink in- 69 replies

So do chocolate people 😎 On topic ... I avoid putting chemicals on my skin, as no different than drinking it. It all gets absorbed into you body & blood system. -
Have family here, and I know I'm not going anywhere outside of TH. Buying makes sense. One size doesn't fit all. Could always sell up for a profit, and leave anytime if wanting, just no desire to. Research when buying helps avoid unwanted neighbors in the future, that's worldwide. I like rural, so takes a bit more research. If a developed area, then you already know who or what your neighbors are. I single and 45 again, and just arriving, I'd be renting also. Though I did buy in as soon as I got here, but with pocket change. Equivalent to renting after few years. OP has been here for 10 ish years already, and seem to be staying, so buying makes sense.

I had a couple Thai docs tell me not to bother when I asked. Living in Udon Thani and spending plenty of time along the Mekong (Chiang Khan to Mukdahan) with every 90 days popping over to Laos, for about 10 years, at least. UP2U ... personally haven't and wouldn't bother.

Expand your mind ... You need to get some culture ... google "M. C. Escher" I always found LSD helped with that

What is the current cost of 1baht jewellery in Thailand?

I really don't get the hybrid (redundant engine) thingy. Unless a PHEV, with good size battery, so you can do all you local driving on electric. Then just having an ICE just for O&A seems a bit daft .. IMHO Along with the extra costs for the extra ICE Spend the extra for the largest battery BEV, if wanting more range.
-
Not sure how you read that, out of that post. Never stop going O&A. Just get there a bit slower than that 3.2 seconds to that 100 kph. No rabbit starts to the speed limit Have to take 5 extra seconds, as think the ZS does it in ~8 seconds What a POS, but 1/2 price ... think I can live with that, besides, In need the SUV, for getting in /out of.

EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread
KhunLA replied to KhunLA's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
DECO SUSU model E-MC ... 3 years owning All 3 warranties now expired; battery, motor, electronics Has run almost flawless for ... Average 2500 kms for first 2 yrs, and less for 3rd. Well taken care of (battery), and never below 20%, usually above 30% before topping back up. About once a week, since old tech, not LFP, and not liking to be topped up daily. Would image some battery degradation, though nothing of note. Battery life 3-5 yrs when purchased, and expect to get at least another 3-5 yrs out of it. Since our local driving kms is minimal, all being close to the house. Daily runs are 8-15 kms when weather is cooperating. Really can't ask for a cheaper mode of transportation, especially now with govt incentive of 18k baht, and upgraded battery (LFP). -
Agree, and if knowing you'll be here for any length of time, and or having someone to use after you crap out, buying is better IMHO Also been here long time (24 yrs) owning for about 18 of those. 1st house was small profit, 2nd very nice profit, with net paying for 3rd house w/solar & EVs. That aside, simply taking the most expensive, 2nd house cost, 3M vs rent of a conserative average of only 18k over the years = 3.2M So about break even if you add the rental cost for those 6 years, which were inexpensive. But we do have the house & toys now, for no cost. Selling 2nd house & land, covered all that "rent", and what we have now. Valued now at about 3-4M, and saving us money every day forward. One size doesn't fit all of course, and house & land are way more profitable than condos at resale. But if break even, it's at worst rent free, which is one of your biggest monthly expenses.
