A lot better than most of the other silly questions asked. I kind of like the thread, and helps us understand the mindset of fellow members. Along with who to ignore Interesting about the different 'relationships', whether retired, still working, one or both. Nice to hear about successful, long lasting relationships, no matter how they hooked up.

Didn't vote. As stated a few times, for me, if in USA, then Trump. But, since not, and the worse things are there, the better for me, if I voted, it would be for Harris. Hope she continues Biden's high inflation policies, and a good exchange rate. I'm up 38% since Biden is in office, I think. Considering exchange rate & COLA since elected. 2024 HARRIS 2024

Actually the only gal in TH, that told me 'no' on a couple occasions of me asking her out, while she worked at her Sis's restaurant at the market. A weekly stop for daughter and myself, as the food was great also. Actually gave up and started dating someone else. When she noticed that relationship ended, I noticed she was a bit more interested and talked a bit to daughter & myself in the business lull. Think she realized I wasn't on a conquest, so rolled the dice next time I asked her out. The rest is history, even though she was in no hurry to jump back into a relationship, still not divorced from her soon to be ex, while on a long separation. Why she was even in Udon Thani, helping Sis, after leaving soon to be ex, and job back at Krung Thep. Though graphic designers, she could work online if really wanting to. Think she was burnt out from the previous 10 year work & marriage grind. See how little you know about people. But please continue making assumptions. Yes, 18+ yrs on, and we're very happy ... THANK YOU We don't need to be together, we want to be together. Any luck, maybe someone will accept you for who you are. TROLL ON

Good riddance. Unfortunately no term limits for Congress members, as another career politician leaves the stage, after telling us how things need to be better and he/she is the person to do it. Yet, when he first got in office, one income was enough for the American Dream. Now two incomes, 2-3X the minimum wage, and public assistance, to help feed the family, doesn't seem to be enough for the basics and savings for the future. Good job Joe ... 50+ yrs of failure to change anything for the good... IMHO

You're implication is way off. Even in USA, my relationships had a 5-10-15-19 year gap. Only one was 19. Actually not old enough back there to have 20 yr gaps, but 10 - 15 was very normal. Left for TH at 45 yrs old. Present wife is 22 yrs younger, got together when she was 29, me 51, depending what month. I could easily pass for 40 back then, with my baby face. I'm 69, handsome as ever, and she's 47 soon. Age is only a number.

Different stroke for different folks, and circumstance. Retired, working, need or simply enjoyment, enough money ... way too many variables, for one size fits all. 24/7 doesn't mean we spend every minute together, in the same room, or house. We can be in the same room like now, she's on her laptop, I'm on mine/here/AN, dog next to me, snoring. I'll get back up in a few, turn the oven on, wait 10 mins, and put the bread it. There's days where she's in the other room, sewing, making a dress, or clothes for me, and we barely talk to each other for 6 ish hours. I might be prepping & cooking a couple meters away. Or she'll spend half the day in the Greenhouse & garden. I may be at the park or surf with the dog, which dog & myself do daily, alone, and or Makro shopping while out. Sometimes shop together, sometimes not. There's just no need to work, or enjoyment to do so for either of us.

That's the only thing we get charged for at the 10k check up. Really gets clogged up with dog hair, since recycle & AC on constantly. It's behind the glove box on the ZS, and easy enough to get to it. Wife said she saw a vid of some chickie doing it herself on internet. Think the wife will do it herself before the 40k kms check up. Found this on YT. Guessing EV version is the same, and maybe same for MG4:

Crap photo, but these were comfy, with added seat cushion. Bought from vendor at Chatuchak Market. Sold with the old house. Rattan & swiveled. Bought barstools and dining chairs, we liked them so much.

Or, smart enough not to burn their bridges, as having doubt the relationship is gong to last. Or, realize if & when partner craps out, they'll have nothing to fall back on. Providing their own financial security it all goes bad. May just love what they are doing, work wise. Generalizing and not directed to H&S.

24/7 ... taking care of the house, garden, dog & myself No, she doesn't work, as I asked her not to. I couldn't be in a relationship with her if she worked, I'm not going to sit around 8-12 hrs day by myself in my retirement. Or go O&A without adult companionship, during 3 months of school breaks with daughter, when playing single parent days past. She has contributed as much, possibly more financially, through her savvy investing (RE) and negotiating with home builders, 2X, than it would have been possible for me to do on my own. Add a bit of long game thinking on my part (Solar & EVs) and we have our living expense down around the ฿15k a month mark. Making a huge difference in our savings & buying power, since I'm on a retirement visa, and don't use an agent for the financials. Do the math, we have a lot of pocket money. Without her, my monthly budget would be in the ฿70-100k a month ballpark, for the same lifestyle. Best part, we actually like each other ... OK ... she tolerates me

Found it at last....something that cures constipation for me!!!!!

Just a heads up, for those eating oats for a higher fiber food, make sure you drink a lot of water with them. As they suck up a lot of moisture (think oatmeal) while in the digestive system, and that moisture is needed to help things move along a bit smoother. Without the water intake, you could be complicating things with oats in your diet. -
EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread

A bit more on the MG ZS 12v battery, after everything tightened up. More at this post, as asked about voltage at rest & driving. Short version, off and at rest, 12v battery seems comfy at 13.1v Few minutes after car started, at 'ready or while driving' and 14.1v seem to be it's happy place. -
@Pib Check that ... Noticed after start up, not noticing at start up, but down at end of the soi, @ 14.1. and while on the way for our morning (longer) park/surfside cruise. Where it stayed consistent, till I got taken for my morning walk at the park. After walk, and restart, down @ 13.3 ... hmm. Took all of 1 ish kms (distance/time) driving to get back to 14.1. Cruised by surf, make sure it's still there, and 14.1 the whole time. Only fluctuation, when braking, half the time it would drop to 14.0. Back home, parked, still 14.1. So let that sit for 29 minutes, while looking at snaps, restarted, and @ 13.3, and taking all of 4 ish minutes while on, sitting in carport to get back to 14.1. Waited a few more minutes to see if will register higher and did not. Seems 13.3 is it's happy place at rest, and 14.1 when turned on 'ready' or 'driving' Park is shy of 4 kms, surf 1 km past that, total round trip, only 14.4 kms. Our daily, unnecessary driving Which we pass Makro on the way to the park, so we really don't need a car at all, except for O&A, or uncooperative weather. MB or Ebike would handle all our daily travelling chores.

@Crossy Found this LAZMALL vendor, (only one I noticed) selling Panasonic 18650 batteries, along with LiitoKala charger if needing. Other vendors, not sure I'd trust, and have some silly low prices. I rigged a charging thingy, just to keep a few charged up, as flashlights they came in crapped out. Saving for when needed, and charge them (not unattended and outside ) with cheap charging cable from cheap drones.

Well, you don't want to block the view from the hotel balconies. Agree, and not the most practical choice if shade is desired. We only go to the surf locally, after the noon hour, then the beach is shaded. No hotel views to be blocked though. Both local bays with surf access have the same trees, I think.

I'm not the techie that 'B' is, but there is no real comparison of GEL to LiFePO4, , and the latter wins hands down. Why newer EV and solar systems use. As stated, treat them nicely, and they'll treat you nicely. Our ESSs (LiFePO4,) are in AC comfort, in the house (foyer/entrance way). Pretty sure they'll out last me, and probably the wife.

Buying car in official showroom with cash and banknotes
KhunLA replied to bkkniko's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
As stated, dealer doesn't care where the money comes from, transfer or cash, or both. 2.5M .. pocket change, just bust open one of those pillow cases. If transfer delays things, it shouldn't, then do all cash. We've only done cash, though just shy of 1M for our most expensive vehicle. Not really a car person, though that new release of the MG Maxus 9 is pretty spiffy, and if not just buying a car, that would have been tempting, and around 2.5M. A bit more than I would normally consider for 4 wheel transport. Happy Motoring. -
What can be done to make Thai Roads safer?

Agree, and I like things just the way they are here, and enjoy driving here more than back in the USA. -
What can be done to make Thai Roads safer?

Apparently you don't understand, speed vs speed limit. Exceeding and or driving too fast for conditions. Germany is irrelevant, if they have roads made to drive silly speed, then speed wouldn't be a problem. Any cross traffic or ding dong u-turns on those German autobahns ... I think not. Drive 90 kph on the highway, as we usually do, and you'll be one of the slowest vehicles there. But I can stop if needed. Drive 60 through metro areas or 30 through the villages and everyone will be passing you. Take those curves on the highways here, posted at 40-50-60 kph. It's almost impossible for 'you' to have an accident, cause it, if you drive the speed limit. Every accident I've been in, back in USA, was because I was driving too fast for conditions. -
We use about 4kWh a day when O&A. That's just 2 frigs (1 sm, 1 med), and maybe 1 light on. Would think hard not to get decent & fast ROI provided you didn't go crazy on size of system. Remember, after ROI, it's 'free'. Having solar, any size or type seems like a good idea to me. Especially if living in an area with brown outs. On topic ... as always: Add an EV to the that, whether, MC, scooter or ebike, and savings add up, if cost and or savings is actually a concern. I simply like having, and the saving is a nice plus.

Thai fruits are great, when in season. I buy Makro frozen blueberries, strawberries, as fresh local, if can find, is terrible. I buy the frozen corn and broccoli (?), just for convenience. The frozen peaches aren't very good, nothing like NJ or GA / USA. TBH, never read where the frozen stuff is sourced.

Thai Man's Strange Behavior with Cows Linked to Marijuana Use

Not sure who I've talked to more, my dogs, or my wives/GFs. I know which usually held a more intelligent conversation, like minded and no major arguments ...
