  1. I got an idea for topic ... open a thread and see who can out insult each other. ... oh wait, that's every thread. Another day, another ... 'why did I bother' thought. Not much new in the EV or Solar world. .... carry on, see if you can hit 10 pages by tomorrow, or before closed. 2 to 1 odds, it doesn't make past 5 pages.
  2. Make that 2 pcs of data now, as ours suffered less than 0.83% battery degradation over the past 1 year / 20k kms. As we average about 360 kms per charge, now states 357. If using WLTP rating of 320 kms, then about 1% If using NEDC rating of 403 kms, than only less than 0.74% Time any of those by 8 years, and less than 8% over the warranty. Along with 8X our savings of 40-54k baht on petrol last year. 320-430k expected while just under 8 year warranty. Times that by another 10 years, and what do you get .... .... your next EV for damn near FREE 🤣 Someone want to tell me again how much more expensive EVs are.
  3. That would be practical, keeping 1 model for the entry level folks, and hope to build some brand loyalty, as they budget allows an upgrade a few years later. Saw the EP 4 sale, and if not for the higher seating of the ZS, along with being shorter, we'd probably have one instead of the ZS, and saved 180k
  4. OK, and ? Didn't state it was going to be the first to have, (since posted previously about the Changan), just that it was going to use the first version of stated battery. My reading comprehension is good, unless speed reading. New news-blip simply having a bit more info/photos, of NATA V. A good thing, as trying to talk my daughter into getting one, as not needing speed or distance, since living in Krung Thep. Has the luxury of avoiding flooding, as public trans can get her to the office when she needs to be there. Works online mostly, and only needs a car for her own business, pick up materials, at her leisure, as needed. Not happy with her Mazda 2 of late. POS and needing a tweak now & then, and only 12 yrs old/175k kms. Still beats monthly payments, and no need to add a new one, since she's stretched a bit thin with RE investments. If price stays under or near 600k, that's a good thing, as don't think she is one to keep a car till it dies. No prob, charging at her condo, and may even be free.
  5. "NETA V EVs to carry the first 4C LFP battery that adds 400 km after 10-minute charge"
  6. Also another reason why I'm happy I left the USA. The final checks & balance of the Constitution/democracy failed miserably that day. The SCOTUS is not allowed to change laws, but simply rule on their Constitutionality. Rule for it, declare un-Constitutional, and or send it back to be rewritten and submitted again. Instead, they changed the penalty for not buying health insurance from an illegal 'fine' to a 'tax'. Add that to the invasions & occupation of sovereign countries during Cheney/Bush administration, when I left, and so glad I stopped, no longer supported that govt's tyranny with my tax dollars.
  7. Cost of healthcare since ACA signed, and note at bottom, this is increased cost to medicare/medicaid, which places limits on what can be charged. Private & worker's policies have NO limits. source Now compare the inflation/COLA that Soc Sec provided Along with younger, healthier people, such as myself, who didn't need or want health insurance were forced to purchase it Which violated the Constitution, and why the fine/tax for not purchasing health insurance was cancelled.
  8. That's because you cherry picked the 'covered workers' graph. Not those buying personal healthcare away from the workplace. From your link, which you omitted also: "The average premium for family coverage has increased 20% over the last five years and 43% over the last ten years" There's a reason you are on my ignore list.
  9. Yes, and it uses very little energy. We leave the dog in the car quite often.
  10. Not really, as my net worth is more, since I met my wife. YMMV
  11. There's only one reason why govt/utilites/polls/studies state solar isn't feasible:
  12. Not all sexpats have to pay, as I certainly never did/do while living here 😎
  13. did they hire the same people that calculate the USA's Soc Sec COLA?
  14. You wasted more time than myself, as came to the same conclusion just speed reading the OP. Another one of those ..... oops, almost said it and got put on vacation again ....
  15. The recycling myth ... ... nothing is ever wasted, as someone's trash is always another's treasure. More headway being made. How's that recycling of petrol coming along And if you are charging those batteries by solar, yes, those solar panels are recyclable also.
  16. it was a bit rampant at one time, and big news in isan (how did you miss it). Why you now need photos, and even the IO has to take a photo of him/herself at address #. Not allowed to link, but Google this for a news blip "marriage visa scam prompts crack down" Probably just a tip of the iceberg, those that were found out. Expats making life more difficult for expats. Same ol' story.
  17. While at it ... may have someone look at the ICE vs EV thread, as seem to be uncooperative; to paste anything and or add a link to. If this takes, then it's a problem on that page: help .. I'm broken
  18. In the USA, you need a permit to do anything to your electric feed. Want to install another 220v line or breaker box for garage apartment or if splitting you house (make apartment for family), you'll need a permit. Installed by certified sparky, then inspected afterward before using. Why I left the Nanny state .... way too many regulations for basic. Stuff. Part govt, part unions. Such as you can't use PVC pipe in many applications and have to use certified plumber & copper. Some real silly stuff. When I left, none of the efficient energy saving under the counter water heater.... oh no, need to heat up a huge 50 gal water tank all day that nobody is using.
  19. Strange thoughts, as it's always ready to go. Do you keep your ICEV topped up all the time ? I would depend how people use and charge their EVs, and battery chemistry. Though soon most will be LFP, for standard EVs. So topping up to 100% more often isn't detrimental to longevity. Myself, depending on season of year, since use solar; ... Rainy, top up when sun is available ... Non rainy, sometime before it goes down to 50%, as will get me to Hua Hin, in a med emergency. I could always use the grid, overnight and it would be topped up by daytime, as never below 50% anyway, unless just back from an O&A Only takes 30 minutes to top up to 90-95% at CS, a few kms from house, if needed.
