  1. You looking to buy one, in Norway ? What are any 10 yr old cars selling for ? So little, we gave ours (Mazda2) to our daughter. Due to new tech, all around, a 10 yr old EV will be low priced. Same as a 10 yr old phone or laptop. So many advancements, it's not a very fair query.
  2. And yet you don't seem to care about the other Brit products, coming out of CH, along with so many other things. I'm sure you truck & Celerio have parts from CH in it. Hold on to your hat, as the Minis with their 'union jack' emblems will be coming out of CH next year, if not some coming out now. "BMW is part of a joint venture with Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor, so the hatchback and small SUV electric Minis will be built in Baoding, China, going forward. The electric Mini Aceman, which is expected to debut in 2024, will also be made in China." ????
  3. Really. So you owned a few in the past, pre 2011. Oh well, my condolences. Try owning one of the CH built since 2011. But do consider the MG3 is an entry level for low budget folks. The rest get high marks.
  4. Most cars globally contain parts and or components made in CH, if not the whole car. ICEVs & EVs Some models of these brands are made in part or whole, in CH. End product coming out one of the big 6 CH automakers: Vovo Honda Benz BMW VW Nissan Peugeot-Citroën Toyota GM Ford Mazda Polestar Lotus Hyundai Mitsubishi Isuzu Peugeot Stellantis/Fiat Chrysler
  5. And yet, I keep reading the complaints of too many Chinese, Indians, Arabs & Russians here. I don't think there's a shortage of A-folks (alphabet folks) here. I see them (plural pronoun use) everyday. You all need to make up your mind.
  6. to the title... ... as soon as I see on, maybe
  7. And yet I don't, except a truck now & then parked on it's side in the medium ditch along highways... ... oops, should have stopped and had a coffee or a nap.
  8. Good luck with that, as that's 640 kms, UT Central Plazs to Patts beach. And non stop for 9 hr 22 min ... NO THANKS SOURCE
  9. Entry level quality EVs cost the same as entry level quality ICEVs, depending of course what you are buying. Made in TH ICEVs start @ ฿600k (4cyl/AT) EVs start @ ฿549k Of course you can pay less, but falls under, "you get what you pay for", so ... ... no thanks Your earlier, now deleted comment, name a country that has no history of human rights violation. I can't think of one. Second thought, don't bother. as will go off topic.
  10. Only if the solar system is larger than the needs of the house, then added cost would be part of the ROI, toward the EV. Ours is not, as needed during rainy season. At time of contracting solar install, EV wasn't being considered, as we had just bought a new ICEV. No intension of buying an EV, due to ignorance, and prices of. 2 yrs later, enlightened, upgrade version of, at same price & govt incentive, made it a no brainer for us. So yes, our excess solar produced energy for the EV is .... FREE energy. During rainy season, depending on use, the solar may not even produce enough extra for the EV, if not planning one's charging. Not a problem for us, Having the E-MB & ebike, so no really need to have use the car. We can wait. Grid is available if impatient.
  11. +1, and enjoyed the Affleck one. Nice twists along the way, especially the end.
  12. And yet in my world, (Ko Lak, Muang, PKK) sea levels are same or going down. And the same Gulf the Bangkok fronts. shh .... it's top secret stuff, don't let MSM know, would ruin their spin. "Analyses of 56 years data of tides recorded at Ko Lak, Prachuap Khirikhan province and Sattahip, Chonburi province revealed that sea levels are falling slowly, which is consistent with results of Gregory (1993) who reported sea-level falls in the low latitudes and the Gulf of Thailand of 0-50 milimeters, using U.K. Meteorological Offices Coupled Ocean-atmosphere General Circulation Model. In conclusion, the sea-level in the Gulf of Thailand is found preliminarily to be falling slightly or not changing, contradicting the belief that sea-level is rising in the Gulf of Thailand" source
  13. Yea, same here, more than enough rain. That drought driving el nino is wreaking havoc in TH ???? The doom & gloom forecast of locally/PKK of drying up reservoirs and water shortages before rainy season even started. And now, the 2 of the heavies rain months arriving...and read a news-blip the reservoirs have recovered nice.
  14. This one is really good for a very short lived chuckle, as will die a very fast forum death. 1 unattributed fire to the battery bank in 9 months ... that's some funny sh!t there. The horror of owning and EV ????
  15. 5-10 Hours sounds about right, when I owned a ICEV, maybe 10 minutes, every week or every other week. Putting on 20-25k kms a year. Our weekly, monthly O&A don't require use of CS. Local rides up to Hua Hin or about, and usually 250 kms R/T. Pop down to Ban Krut quite often for green curry & roti, along with sweet tooth fix, but less than 175 kms R/T. Takes care of N & S cruises, and can't go far E or W. So all trips charged at home with excess solar also. Since we stop on longer O&As anyway, while using a CS is actually less total time wise, per year, or at worse, the same time wise, as owning an ICEV. Much less, if just counting excess time there with the EV, IF any. A welcomed stop after 3-4 hrs on Thai roads, and savings are just a plus.
  16. Produced by SIAC-Wuling motors, and has a LFP battery bank, considered one of, if not the safest battery chemistry for EVs. SAIC-MG motors safety record for EVs is excellent ... IMHO ... so no worries, IF I was buying. Bring the price down to 350k, and I might pick one up. For those iffy weather days when I can't use the scooter. Not the best specs though, and Neta V is a few baht more. Depends on one's needs, and fine tuning research of the alternatives. This might be insightful, to Wuling products: "GM’s Wuling MINI EV Ranks Well In J.D. Power 2023 EV Initial Quality Study" source Although, not sure I would want to take a hard crash in anything that small. But if knocking around my little town, that doesn't seem to be a problem, as haven't seen 1 accident yet, in 5 yrs living here. Unless on hwy #4, which is easily avoided, and have seen no accidents on the stretch bordering town. Amazingly so.
  17. Depends, a small or large investment (relative), small IMHO, with very quick ROI, depending on individual needs & use. Living comfort level of a nice cool house, 24/7 ... priceless. And at no cost once ROI realized. For us, 5-7 yrs should be ballpark, less if used more.
  18. Total fires ... 1 EV fires that didn't involve the battery bank of the EV ... 1 / ALL Is there enough bandwidth to start listing all the ICEV fires? Apparently ... IMHO ... it happens so often, it's not news worthy. This will amount to an empty & useless 'database' 9 months in to 2023, and NO FIRES attributed to the battery bank of an EV. THANKS for pointing out how safe they are ???? One less thing to concern yourself about when owning a BEV ... thank you CH. "Leaky Fuel System Usually cited as the most common cause for cars to start fire, leaks in the fuel system are dangerous. A car accident or poor maintenance can lead to a fuel leak, but a leak can also emerge spontaneously as a car ages." source
  19. And continue to happen. Just collateral damage for a non-eco friendly energy source. Profits are all that matter. Cleaning up (hiding spills) seems to be cheaper than operating with proper equipment that prevents oops. Petroleum product are needed, but profits are more important than ethics. Sad indeed.
  20. I like it, and wish they, all vendors would pass the fees to the user. Instead of raising their prices for everyone, to cover that overheard. All people do that use CC for purchases is raise the price of goods, and give the fees to banks for an unnecessary service.
  21. I've been riding scooters for 40+ yrs, and not knocking "them" at all. Just the idiots that ride without helmets. Which, TBH, I don't care one way or the other, if you wear one. Prefer not to be lopped in with you stupidity, just because so many farang (per capita) seem to go without. You want to risk your life, please, go right ahead ... ENJOY the afterlife. What I do mind, is if you commit suicide on my car, then I'm charged with vehicular death, when it could have been easily prevented by using simple common sense. Nobody should be charge is the dead person is helmetless. Som naam na
  22. As people get older, I wouldn't be surprised to hear they've stopped thinking for themselves all together.
