French Tourist in Critical Condition After Zebra Crossing Accident
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
What the sense of having a brain or common sense, if you don't use it. And I'm sure you drive the speed limit all the time. Especially 30 kph through villages or 60 kph though town, and of course, never over 90 kph, on highway, with exception of the few stretches allow to do 100-120 kph. -
French Tourist in Critical Condition After Zebra Crossing Accident
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
No place where I ever lived. Step off the curb without looking and expect to run over. You always look both ways, then again ... maybe even a 3rd time. I don't even trust the crosswalks at intersection, even if the pedestrian get their own little green light. Only takes a second or 3 to stay safe crossing the road. Mind boggling people ignore the basics, and still get run over. You can't fix stupid. -
Already conceded, I should have Googled before posting ... ... in the future, try not to kick a man when he's already down 😎 And ... I got more crap here than I can smoke. Think I over bought, especially since I rarely indulge. Smoked half a doobie last month, and might smoke the other have this month ... maybe

French Tourist in Critical Condition After Zebra Crossing Accident

Not suppose to victim blame, but still amazes how people can't see the cars or MBs driving on the road ... or expect them to stop. -
No beach in Udon, If I had to choose, Udon vs Phuket ... ... or Udon vs any other place below Krung Thep, Udon loses. Yea, Phuket wins over Udon.

1 week inflation, for my 'go to' 70% dark chocolate chips, over 26% increase in price OK, not 1 week, as been ฿320 for awhile, and now ฿405 😢 Beats crappy Tulip Dark Chocolate @ 22%, that taste like nothing even close to chocolate.

And we got a COLA of 2.5%

Starlink Roam: Are you using it effectively in Thailand now?
KhunLA replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in IT and Computers
Have you considered getting one of the EcoFlow Solar Generators. Router, computer and phone can stay charged up, when power goes out. Along with other appliances you may need on. https://shopee.co.th/ecoflow_thailand_distributor?categoryId=100644&entryPoint=ShopByPDP&itemId=21267297386 -
Old Asian hands from Thermae, Grace & Patpong era
KhunLA replied to pattayadgw's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Holy Buddha ... NO Grace was the first hotel I ever stayed in TH, (1999) and the worst ever, worldwide. Thankfully only one night, and off to Phuket the next day. Patpong, again, one of the worst, if not, areas of Krung Thep, if not TH. Scam central. When I did finally hear about Thermae ... took the advice and avoided. All 3 visited by lowest scrapings of the barrel. -
Starlink Roam: Are you using it effectively in Thailand now?
KhunLA replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in IT and Computers
Not really ... ... "Hi, can you give me a price for Solar ? " ... "OK, and you can install it as soon as components arrive ?" ... "Next month is good for us ... you ?" .... THANK YOU Didn't even break a sweat StarLink shouldn't be any different, if ever approved. ... "How much ... same or just wee bit more than TOT " ... SIGN ME UP ... no more crappy internet or losing GPS signal when O&A. -

Starlink Roam: Are you using it effectively in Thailand now?
KhunLA replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in IT and Computers
Phone & internet is a huge revenue stream for Thai govt. Guessing StarLink would take a huge chunk of that. I know I'd switch over, just for spite. I hate monopolies and a good part of the reason we have Solar & EVs. -

Speedboat Explosion Near Phuket Leaves Six Injured, Sparks Panic
KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
The 'hate' is strong on this thread ... they are called accidents for a reason Snorkelers got a good holiday story. Speeding recovery to crew and other that may have been injured. -

Helen Mirren Criticizes James Bond Franchise for Its Deep-Rooted Sexism
KhunLA replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Really like her, but just retire gracefully, and don't be a hypocrite. Speaking out now, after you received plenty of paychecks for being in sexist movies. Wish they'd just go to work, do their job, and keep some of their thoughts to themselves.
