  1. Here's an example of a typical news thread (of all things) for me. One I actually thought worth a read. Of the 54 replies, 23 were or are now on my 'list'. That's just sad. Not counting the silly comments, or counter replies to the trolls ๐Ÿ™„
  2. Left thinking deranged imagination and expectations ... ... expats & tourist now being asked for passport when entering any vendors, hotels, restaurants & bars. ... if USA passport, 36% surcharge will be added to their bill
  3. Few countries don't have a trade deficit with China. Do they all need to pick sides
  4. Do believe that's the purpose of the new reciprocal tariff on offer ... 'let's talk' a fair trade agreement, or not ... UP2U
  5. And how many cars made with all parts from CN have you owned ? Not just the cars, almost all, that have components from CN, or even made in CN for UK, EU or USA headquartered auto makers. Myself, 2 made in China, and 2 of the best cars I've ever owned. Can't see myself ever buying another non Chinese badged car or truck in the future.
  6. Myself, all for debate with open minded folks, and have been swayed occasionally. But when conversation starts with nothing but hate, prejudice and misinformation, then really is hard to not just ignore the poster.
  7. Think my new 'go to' brekkie, as quest to get my ruffage into the diet. Couple sunny side up w/Maggi atop a bed of fried veggies; tomato, r/g/y peppers, onion and emphasis on some cabbage. Change the 'theme' up now & then, hot sauce or grated parmesan, etc ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. Or make the 'political soapbox' thread an option you have to choose to view, instead of opening as default when coming in on the 'new content' page. As it's filled with nothing by hate. That would eliminate a good part of the drivel. At least with the news forum, if title interest you, (and not too far left) you can read the OP, before the hate is brought into the thread.
  9. I remember those days, of owning Toyota & Mazda ICEV at Udon Thani ... and I'd follow the wife to the dealer on the MB, just drop off, and pick up later at the end of the day. When moved to PKK, had to take the Mazda to Hua Hin since no local dealer. The MG ZS ICE, was also a trip 100 kms away, to HH, and spent the wait time at Bluport mall, and walking distance from dealer at Hua Hin. Thankfully the built a dealer close to the house just before buying the BEV version.
  10. Ours at the old house (Udon Thani) was 2+ meters, purposely build so I could tread water, as the perfect no impact aerobic work out, when having a not so good back. Easy on the ol' hips, knees and ankles. Much smaller pool though, and only 3m X 5m, split half 2+m, and <2m. Cost was silly inexpensive, 75k baht, and done by our waterfall guy. His first ever pool install. Did need 2 tweaks, as he underestimated the weight of that much water. Less than 5k baht for the tweak. Just a therapy pool, and built in bench seating, for chilling out. Did not have a built in pump/filter system, and basic stand along, above ground pool filter was more than sufficient, bought separately. If you live northerly, then it will be too cool to swim in, due to overnight temps, during a good part of the year. Obviously too small a pool if planning on doing laps or larger family. Just the 2 of us, self & wife, as daughter never planned on using. Wife rarely did, and why no pool at present house.
  11. You must live in a busy metro. Last time in for a peek, (MG ZS BEV), they were done before I finished my snack & coffee. 40k kms check coming next week or so, if we do a long local explore, and I don't think I've ever been at the dealer more than 30 minutes. Advantage of living in smalls-ville, and only being 3 kms from the MG dealer. If it wasn't required for the warranty, doubt if I would even bother.
  12. I just spent less than 1 hour on the internet, non forum & scrolling through 8 hrs of the forum, probably spent more time adding about 10 hate spewing members to my 'list', than actual reading any threads. The 2 or 3 threads I did read, had more hate toward Thais, Tesla, Trump & strangely Melania than intelligent replies. Just finished 1st cup of coffee, and remember days when I'd respond to 10 threads before even starting my 2nd cup. I know post counts & traffic is important, but if sponsors ever read the forum, Holy Buddha, one would wonder if they really want some of them as customers Maybe as an online shop customer, but certainly wouldn't want them in my bar or restaurant, if owning.
  13. Yea, I'm having a hard time even bothering any more, and find the forum is starting to be more boring than doing nothing at all. Sitting on the sofa with the dog, looking out at the bird & squirrels is more intellectually stimulating One utterly, stupid and ridiculous thread after another. I'm actually up to, now, 85, people on my ignore list. If not a silly thread to start, it gets ruined with 10 post by some deranged person. I'm off, think I'll just lay here and listen to the dog snore ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. Gender affirming care should simply be a biology lesson, and psyc-therapy, to make them realize, they are a male or female, from birth, and that will never change.
  15. OK, insensitive, but I would let him simply bleed out. When people want to kill themselves, why let them be disappointed in their effort. At least they accomplish something correctly in their life.
  16. Got rid of a lot of the dupes, as kind of easy. The rest, I just left, as too tedious to try. I enjoy watching old vids of holidays and stuff, especially of daughter when younger. Plenty of crap saved, but lots of stuff that has meaning to me.
  17. Only thing I'm concerned about, and so far, so good, holding steady since Jan 21st. Soc Sec DD ...
  18. Don't believe I said it did.
  19. Yes it is. I only buy 'Harvey' brand from AU, for steaks. Get fresh ground local (lean or brisket) for my burgers or tacos.
  20. Nothing going on over there, USA, will affect us here. And only if you don't 'buy USA' will it affect those living in USA. Though guessing, most will still buy the best product at the best price, and that will be imports. USA simply can't compete any more, tariffs or not. When USA companies start manufacturing in the USA, thing may change, though doubtful. Profits rule.
  21. Real registration numbers tell a much different story, and let's stick to BEV, as ICEV are still the most sold, though losing market share every month. As stated on the other thread, you'd have to be nuts to not at least look at BEV, before plopping your hard earned money down for an under performing, overpriced, low tech, expensive to maintain ICEV. Conversation to continue here ... https://aseannow.com/topic/1246109-ice-vs-ev-the-debate-thread/page/102/#findComment-19707043
  22. Asking the wrong person, as I stopped paying attentions, since having BEVs already, and no interest for another, unless they come out with a 700k basic pick up with a proper size cargo bed. That apparently ain't happening, as they're all simply SUVs with a small, useless, cargo bed ... IMHO Just saw that promo in my FB feed. Damn 200k less than my daughters Atto 3, bought last year. But she couldn't wait, as her POS Mazda 2 was dying.
