  1. Has little to do with the savings, as the flavor is so much better. If it cost the same, or even more, I'd still mix it myself. I've even went to the 7 L per bag, and still taste great. Last price for a box was 2565 baht, for 84 Liters of milk, so just over 61 baht for 2L. https://aseannow.com/topic/1361392-people-keep-posting-thailand-expensive-but-im-not-seeing-it/#findComment-19816718
  2. Until you realize how it works and to use it, as anything new (RTFM) it takes a try to get use to. Myself, picked up the BEV, all tech I've never used before, and took my time on first drive getting use to it. Yes, first time the CC 'idled down' was a WTF moment. Sooner than I expected, then simply followed the suggestion on how to drive. Keep foot near the accelerator, and don't let it engage by simply pressing a bit. Or, when in traffic, disengage the CC. Found it quite simple, and love the way it operates. Can't say the same about lane assist, as the little adjustments to stay in your lane, are annoying, and I disabled that function. Also easy enough. Love the almost 'one foot' driving. and regen slowing down, rarely touch the brakes.
  3. Whoa, that's my neighborhood. Went to the park early this morning, before noon, or we probably would have seen the smoke plume. That sucks ... R I P
  4. We contracted a builder to build it. Contract had 'allotments' broken down for roof, tile, cabinets, fixtures (toilet & sinks), painting, doors & windows, all based on blueprint. Block & concrete/cement was all fixed price, and just told her which type of block to use. Sparky & plumbing was also fixed. We actually shopped for and ordered the roofing material (BluScope rolled steel), fixtures and picked out all the tiles. Along with cabinets. Her pricing was very good, and we weren't far off at all. Used a different sliding doors & window crew, than hers, after viewing her previous builds, and didn't care for her subcontractors materials that they used. Some things we picked out were cheaper, and just moved the balance over to things we picked that were more expensive. Actually balanced out pretty good, very surprisingly.
  5. Reading OP again ... ... savings, at least 50%, as everything we looked at, was ฿2+M range, not including our solar system, which was ฿450k. House is only ~130m² on 100 tw lot, 1/4 rai = 400m² (20m X 20m lot). Semi rural, and lot only cost ฿76k (10 yrs ago), and now would be ฿500k. House 2.5 yrs old. I wouldn't sell it for less the ฿3M. Buy as much land as you can, as that is what will appreciate in the future. The building itself, don't expect much of a return, if any. Two previous house builds appreciated nicely, all because of the land they sat on, not the building.
  6. Yes, much cheaper & much better quality build. Though you do need to pay attention as they build.
  7. We already have cold pressed EVOO, which as stated, weening ourselves off of. No Tops near, and as stated, very little available at Makro. Bertolli has never been accused of selling fake EVOO, or any fake oil, to my knowledge. Law suit ... again ... was about not being 'imported from Italy' Have a nice day, and feel free to put me on you ignore list.
  8. Agree, and probably a 'best buy' compared to all '1st world / G20 countries' Ours cost <2M / $61.5k USD, land, house & solar system. Along with being <10 mins from the surf, eastward, if you catch both traffic lights. And about 10 mins from the rolling hills to the west, bordering Myanmar. Obviously would be silly priced in USA, and probably couldn't even buy the land for our 'all in' price. Best part, no RE Taxes. Don't even have home owners insurance, as not expecting any damaging quakes or typhoons. Trivial law suits don't really exist here, TH. Puts a lot of extra jingle in the pocket vs living in the Mother Land 😎
  9. AN members sure do have a reading comprehension issue. Law suit was about the 'LABELING', where sourced, not the quality of the oil. Good luck finding 'raw & unfiltered' EVOO in TH at even close to a reasonable price, if finding. Our Makro has very few options of EVOO, and Bertolli might be the only one sold in dark green 'glass' bottle. Think the rest in plastic. We are weening ourselves off Olive Oil any way, and won't be buying when we run out. Canola being a healthier option, via randomized studies, which I've posted before. Need to find the old Sesame oil I got before, as damn tasty, and on the level of Olive oil, health wise, types of fat. Rarely use oil for anything other than stir frying anyway. Only use EVOO for pizza dough, I think.
  10. To the title ... ... the repetitive anti Trump threads 🙄 YES IT DOES 😎
  11. That vid is all I need to see. More than enough evidence to prove she aided a criminal to escape, though thankfully, they caught him anyway.
  12. So people are commenting on a bill, they won't read, and just following the soundbites on MSM. No wonder the country is in the state that it is. Best soundbite, commercial wins. You can't fix stupid ... Som nam naa
  13. Don't know about the OP (bob), but friends w/bennies are great. Had a few when in USA. Two life long, and great when not in a relationship. Weren't professionals, as possibly implied in OP, but just as promiscuous as myself. Enjoy relationships, obviously, as been in 6 live in relationship, but also enjoyed being single.
  14. Mixed thoughts, and I guess it depends how it's instituted. If voluntary by the pedophile to avoid long prison sentence, then I don't think the doc would have moral standard issue. They really should raise the punishment for pedophiles, to life in prison, no parole. Honest pedophiles are always on record, stating they can't be cured of the urge. Does the chemical castration even work. Would not testosterone treatment simply negate to process. Life in prison ... why take the chance of having them walking among our children.
  15. Apparently not, and as reported, she snuck him out a different way Nice spin though
  16. I have to put up with tobacco smoke in public area, and much more annoying than the smell of ganga. I've yet to smell ganga in a public area. Not that I go to tourist areas. If that's where you voluntarily live or visit ... oh well. Live with your choices
  17. A few comments about not understanding a comment, and yet, original comment, has yet to be explained. Go figure
  18. 2000/2001, and remember around 14 baht. It hit 40 during covid, steady at 35 for a while, now lower. All makes sense, sort of. Minimum wage is up 200-300%, since then, as are most things. I remember eggs, 3 for 5 baht, now 1 egg, milk at 39 baht for 2 L, now near 100 baht, if not there already, as haven't bought 2L in long time.
  19. Sarcastic, don't think so. Just as posted, needed a translation. Pretty straight forward. No 'WTF' in front of it, that would have been sarcastic. His reply was a bit sarcastic (?), maybe. Prefer to be ignored rather than implied stupid. Ignorant is fine, as we all are until enlightened, which nobody is doing for me 😢 Not sure how asking for a translation is disrespectfully. People seem to read a lot into some replies. Can't just take it at face value. Oh well, moving on ...
  20. I didn't suggest anything, as didn't have a clue what CC was asking, stating, and why I asked for a translation. So, in the context used, what does 'all over environment' mean, or even 'overall environment' mean, as still haven't a clue. If 'all over' is supposed to be 'overall', does sound better, but don't understand it, as a reply to my post. 'Overall environment' of what ? Talk to me like an ignorant wee one, as would like to know what it was suppose to mean. Just out of curiosity, even if I can't reply with a snappy comeback 🙄
  21. I like the Harvey beef from AU. Pass on their local display beef. Frozen seafood; salmon, shrimp. Pork tenderloins and chicken thighs, if they pass the nose test, or from the freezer case. Processed; CP bologna, TGM spicy sausage, salami or pepperoni. That's about it. Makro is basically the only option here for meats. Lotus's here is disgusting, and definitely won't buy from fresh market. Yes, anything involving labor is silly inexpensive here. Along with going O&A, which we'll be on the road Sunday, I think. We don't do tourist areas, and rarely spend 1000 baht a night for bungalow surfside or hillside view, of or from atop.
  22. Yea, for that post, I'm completely lost, as didn't even express an opinion. Oh well, one of my fan club, as I have many
  23. And ... come on man, don't leave my hanging 🙏
