Have you ever smoked or ingested marijuana?
KhunLA replied to flyingtlger's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Indulged on & off for about 55 years. Sometimes more than a few doobies in a day, along with years in between smoking. Especially while in TH, not smoking that is, even though I got quite a bit sitting next to the bed right now. Maybe half a doobie a month. Actually gave half my stash away to my nephew, as didn't think I'd smoke it within the next couple years. Still got a couple 100gr sitting here. -

I.S.S. ... enjoyed it, liked the plotline, so rolled the dice, even though 4.6 IMDB rating when downloaded, now 5.4 rating, (3.4k). Not a action movie, just human reaction to circumstance. Good time killer, and I didn't FF through it, a good sign

Bill Maher viciously roasts expats and expat destinations

Nah, spent 35 years in Delaware Valley, that was enough. Not a bad choice though, and one of the better areas in the states I've been at. -

Same here, with base in Keys maybe, then play nomadic traveler, USA & worldwide. -
Do you think we'll run out of solar or fossil fuels first ? Which one's price doesn't fluctuate, and the cost to provide increasing drops year after year, with every new advancement, unlike the dinosaur fuel that it is.

I guess if we were all multi millionaires, we could tolerate living in the USA. Still wouldn't be my choice though, maybe the Keys, non-hurricane season. USA ... #1 worldwide in military spending, and people incarcerated -

I do the same, sort of, as I made an account for my father (dead), and dog on FB, and sent them photos, then simply copy & past where needed. If wanting a higher resolution, I'll upload it to Gdrive.. Strange thing is, the dog got more friends request than me, and had to go incognito

Pork loin. S&B GC recipe called for it to be cut up and put in with the rest, but was in the mood for a fried pork patty, and how it gets served at a local restaurant over a bowl of rice:

Whoa, ฿780k makes our installed system look inexpensive, even though one of the more expensive system, compared to other AN members DIY systems. Our 8kW inverter w/20kWh ESS/battery back up was ฿445k. With a better build, ours would probably meet your needs, although I would go with two 5kWh inverter and enough panels to max out input/output, and should cover your 800-1500 kWh a month. -

The realities of PM2.5 in Thailand revealed by ‘Check Dust’
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't know how people tolerate living further N than us, 1 hr below Hua Hin. Lived in Udon Thani for 16 years, and last 10 ish years, I noticed how really bad it was or was getting. Had hills in the distance west of the house, 4 ridges, and on mediocre smog days, you couldn't even see them from 2nd floor veranda. Same if on top level of Central Plaza parking garage, you couldn't see any of the distant hillside around the city. -
USA ... "MG ZS EV: This subcompact SUV starts at $30,995" TH ... price <$24k All-in. A hefty 25% increase. Still better than owning the low spec'd POS Nissan Leaf, in either country. EVs aren't inexpensive in the USA USA ... Toyota Yaris ... $16.605 TH ... $15,556 ... not much difference ... hmm

They don't care, they kill Muslims also. They killed one Muslim guy, because he opened his shop on Friday. The extremist consider that blasphemy, as a day for GOD, much like Sunday use to be for Christians. -

Yea ... what you said. We went with an installer for our system, since not having the 'expertise', crew, tools or the back for helping install. After I priced the components the installer used, it really wasn't worth the hassle of trying to sort it all out myself. Many of the DIY systems people post here are less expensive, some considerably, though not sure about vendor or manufacturer warranties. Our installer has been at it for quite some time, so he would sort those out with his supplier with more success than a walk in/online customer, one would think. Most electrical components crap out early on anyway, and we're 1.5 yrs in, so all good. Our installer is excellent on customer service (none needed except slight upgrade), and returning phone calls, when we have stupid questions. Ours turned out to be the perfect size for us, providing enough on the crappiest days, with more than enough to keep the EVs (car, MC, Ebike) charged up. -
Thanks ... ... them cheap, crappy, Chinese MGs ... I don't why people buy 'em You keep finding more good stuff about our ZS than I do 👍

Not really, many consider <1 million kms conservative. As LFP life cycles estimates range from 2.5k to 10k cycles. I always error on the negative side, to avoid any unnecessary disappointments. The negative side of what we expect from our EV: -

That's pretty sad. Was up that way, CM area, years ago, when announced Japan gave a few million $$$ to TH, to help the fight against burning/smog. While driving around, most fires we saw were municipality worker burning roadside brush. I notice the same now, the govt push to stop the burning, and yet, they have no problem burning the brush at the local park, and a huge burn pit at the PWA, as they maintain their nicely manicured little park area behind the offices. -

Our solar saves uses ฿2.5K-5K a month for household electric, using 20-50kWh a day. Another 4k a month on petrol cost, actually ฿47..8k saved the first year with the EV. ROI on our solar system will be between <5 yrs to maybe 8 years, depending if we continue to drive 20k kms a year, which has been our average the past 20 years. Can't see that changing as long as I'm alive, so closer to the 5 year mark. Then it's all free after that. I actually expect both, solar system ESSs/batteries and the EV to last about 20 years without any major issues, since both are LFP chemistry. -

Mostly NE provinces topping the list. Couldn't be all the rice, sugar & corn farming. Strange that they burn so much, as the Korat plateau is fairly flat. In the N, it's understandable, sort of, as running a tractor on hills to turn the soil isn't the most practical or safest way at times. NE, it's simply easier & cheaper to burn it. Part of the reason I left Udon Thani, as it used to rain black dust from the sugar burning. Rather annoying when having a pool. -

I don't think you can get any more off grid than this, connected or not: We're unofficially 'off grid' also, as don't need PEA at all. Only stay connected, since having only 1 inverter. If having two 5kW inverters instead of one 8kW inverter, we'd probably give the meter back also. We also have the EV as back up if needed, so even if inverter crapped out, we wouldn't have a issue till replaced. 20kWh of ESSs is more than enough for us, and yet to use 50% overnight since adding 2nd ESS, and that's with an AC on. The EV would provide at least another 30kWh of back if ever needed.
