  1. Why do you expect to be stopped now. Are you driving legally? Then shouldn't be an issue, that's why you're waved through.
  2. Where ever she is registered (30 baht or Gold card scheme), what ever they're calling it now, and should be near free.
  3. Doubt if anyone is that naïve. Maybe not add to the local ground level air pollution, but that's about.
  4. Daughter adopting us as parents, and that will always be best ever. Love new toys, and using them, so driving through Nan, Bo Kluea to Pua for first time, (new toy: EV, picked up last year). Lots of great drives last year, but that was first time there, and impressive landscape. Still prefer the limestone karsts, but seen so many times, Nan was a pleasant, surprising change.
  5. Neutral does not mean they condone anything. It's simply means they realize both sides are guilty of atrocities and simply don't want to get involved, It's a lose-lose situation. When you can't believe what either side says, it's a yuo two fight it out situation. Make peace or kill each other we don't care.
  6. Enjoyed driving a truck, since self contracted, good compensation and traveling around. Enjoyed benny of almost free flights when working for airlines & used them a lot. That said, couldn't retire fast enough.
  7. Matrix Enemy of the State V for Vendetta Honorable mention. ... Equilibrium
  8. More than a few, and you haven't seen them for a few reasons ... ... they look so good, you didn't know they were LBs ... you got there too late, as attractive ones go early ... all irrelevant, as you couldn't afford a cute one anyway. Don't be so shallow, you'll find one to love sooner or later????
  9. Don't think so ... updated app, now can't sign in ... ???? Can't get though to call center, guessing flooded with calls. MG Super Charger to the rescue, and as always, on the way tomorrow. RESTRICTED ... doesn't get any better than that ????
  10. Not much different from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000 onward. 1st job (1973/4)... Lithographic printing ... left before they went belly up 2nd (1974/5)... steel lathe operator ... same, left & belly up 2nd airlines (1979/80)... regional (Altair), left before belly up to CO 3rd airlines (1980/81) ... CO, bankrupt, salary & position froze or cut, my job eliminated Enough already ... went self employed 4th airlines (1988/2001) ... bankrupt and DL took over. 10+ yrs after I left, and employees were just getting back to the salary I was making in 2001. Along with a few other jobs that didn't work out, and they also went out of business, though far from any type of career jobs, just 'hold me over till better comes along' jobs.
  11. I wonder if drive up is still 'un-timed' ... will be using tonight, so will update. No need to fix what wasn't broken ????
  12. I've owned 2 Vios s, and the Yaris is built on the same platform. From Wiki: "The third-generation Vios was released in 2013, which shares the platform with the XP150 series Yaris hatchback. It is marketed in regions outside Southeast Asia, China and Taiwan as the Yaris sedan. Through a major refresh in 2017, the Vios shares the same styling as the refreshed XP150 series Yaris hatchback. The heavily facelifted model also gained more global presence by local production in Brazil, India and Pakistan as the Yaris sedan. A separate, less major refresh was introduced for the Chinese market Vios in 2016 alongside a hatchback model marketed as the Toyota Vios FS. In Thailand, the 2017 facelifted model was marketed as the Toyota Yaris Ativ, which shares the smaller 1.2-litre engine with the Yaris hatchback. The 1.5-litre Vios continued to be sold alongside the Yaris Ativ until 2022,[3] using the Chinese market facelift styling. The fourth-generation model was released in 2022 in Thailand as the Yaris Ativ. It was designed and engineered by Daihatsu using its DNGA platform." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Vios Toyota Vios Toyota Vios sedan (XP150, China) Overview Manufacturer Toyota Also called Toyota Belta (Japan, 2005–2012) Toyota Yaris (2007–present) VIOS / YARIS YARIS CROSS Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Yaris_Cross
  13. Quite the discussion about on the "EV in TH" thread, probably better info there. Already available, I believe: https://aseannow.com/topic/1257405-electric-vehicles-in-thailand/page/116/
  14. Yes, I've ridden in enough of them, (made in TH) and would never own. That goes for most of the Japanese badged cars made in TH. Drivetrains were fine, as everyone has the 1.5L down to a science, but the ride (Vios & Mazda) leaves a bit to be desired. For the price and lack of performance, just take a peek at the EVs on offer before spending your hard earned THB.
  15. Punctuation and caps check ... before criticizing my simple typo, but hey, if that's all you got. Go with it. And the MG owners, inclusive, on here have pointed out things we don't care for, you just choose to ignore it. What ever works for your spin. OP asked for opinions, mine given. It's a forum, as someone pointed out, personal tastes differ. One thing we/EV owners do agree on, once driving and owner, few to none would buy another ICEV of the same class of vehicle. Especially since they are all about the same price.
  16. I can't imagine the 'Cross' being much better, if at all. Had a Vios (basically a Varis) and road noise was the worse of any car I've had. Pretty sad since a new vehicle at the time. Mazda 2 a bit better. Doubt you've been in either MG that I suggest the OP to 'peek' at. As pretty sure, OP is not fitting in either Cross comfortably. The ZS, probably cheaper than both Cross's is quite comfy & quite enough. Never been in the MG5, but at the price point, wouldn't expect any miracles, but also, nothing like the Varis, hopefully. Just peaked, the Varis Cross starts at the highest price ZS (ICE), 800k ish and Corolla version @ 1M NO THANKS Just another CH hater ... have a nice day.
  17. I can think of better things to do w/700k than spend to have a abstract 'T' on the front & back of the car.
  18. The world outside mine, doesn't really concern me, and I just don't care. They can all kill each other if that is their desire. Have at it. My big worldly priority, is finding something to do the next 6 days, while Out & About. Can't say the weather is cooperating, though the rain knocked a bit of the early seasonal smog down at Kanchanaburi. That was an unwelcome surprise, from Hua Hin to here, and hills are a blur already. Was thinking about heading up to the Mon Bridge area, but that's 3 hr each way, and been there before. Plus, recent photos had clear blue skies...hmm Now just need to find nice coffee shop or restaurant riverside, or up by SaiYok WF. It's there, it's free, might as well take a peek.
  19. 10 years left ... been telling myself that since I hit 30 yrs old. Now, I've been retired almost as long as I've worked my adult life ... hmm, go figure. I've made it more than most I know, and may even squeeze out another 10 yrs. Got a cousin 83, and a brother will 76 at year's end.
  20. OK, I learned something new everyday. I think I would still give it a pair, as the Varis is smaller than the Corolla and I don't think it will work for OP, cuz it doesn't work for me and I'm shorter than OP. @SBACM I would check out the MG lineup, ZS about 700k and MG5 I think that's 590k. Compare specs then go take a peek if you're happy.
  21. Came back through that way a couple weeks ago, and there is nothing dangerous about those roads. Actually they're quite nice, and was pleasure to drive on. From Krabi, through Phang-nga, and up the coast pass Ranong. Been on most of the major roads in that province, quite nice & enjoyable. Only thing dangerous are the idiots that don't obey the traffic laws. Easily avoidable, though something you can't fix as ... ... you can't fix stupid
