  1. I'm a bit suspect of that offer. If it sounds too good ..... Besides, I'd take the MG EP over the Leaf any day, cheaper, and 25% larger battery. Rest of specs seem about the same.
  2. Distance (to next CS), and available CS in TH is NOT a problem. Charging time, depends how impatient you are. Frankly I would enjoy a 30-45 min break after driving 3-4 hrs on Thai roads. Idea, technology & especially price is good NOW. IMHO Nothing right around the corner that I see is worth waiting for, especially at 67 yrs old, and a ฿240k incentives that WILL expire.
  3. NO, just mocking your bigotry to 'WHOLLY' Chinese made cars vs cars with Chinese parts in them. Feel free to pay more for less spec'd vehicle. I prefer the best product for the best price. Right now, EVs in Thailand, that's the MGs, IMHO. And we've had this discussion before also. Really need to do again ? Please bring something new to the table, besides your bias of 'WHOLLY' made Chinese cars & new MGs.
  4. Noticed that, (take note of my 'visual' price comparison) and was making reference to the other price in your same post for a used car, I think.
  5. Prefer new, not used, and best apple & apple, equal comparison.
  6. Bigotry & Ignorance is Bliss & Expensive ... visual alternative Nissan Leaf @ ฿1.5 mill, a fine Jap vehicle, w/OK specs. OR ... for that same ฿1.5 mill baht, you can have all of these in you driveway. AND ... over ฿100k in the pocket ... choice is yours ????
  7. People definitely need to do a bit of comparison shopping. EP (771k baht), 25% larger batter, less than 1/2 price vs Leaf: https://www.zigwheels.co.th/en/compare-cars/mg-ep-vs-nissan-leaf
  8. Being topical, to a post I made; Living in the Past - Jethro Tull
  9. Already stated my pros & cons. All pros for us. Others' situation may be different, and should consider how & where they spend their baht. As long as you can charge at home, solar even better, but just not seeing a down side to owning an EV. Unless you need a P/U, then you're screwed.
  10. OK, I'll give that one, though took you awhile ???? I hope people are smart enough to do their research, as what idiot would buy that for 2 mill baht when the MG EP is 771k. You could buy 2 MG EPs & 1 Celerio for 2 mill, AND. have change ... maybe pick up a few e-motorcycles to compliment the garage.
  11. So this is the 'REAL EV' thread ... hmm Still waiting for you / OP, to post real information, instead of all your slanted, repeated bias.
  12. "On average, EV batteries only degrade at a rate of 2.3% of maximum capacity per year, so with proper care you can reliably expect your EV battery to last as long or longer than ICE drivetrain components." https://www.evconnect.com/blog/how-long-does-an-electric-car-battery-last#:~:text=On average%2C EV batteries only, longer than ICE drivetrain components.
  13. AND ... when did 160k = 180k. What car were you referring to ? 160k is very generous, let along 180k / 22.5k a year. Please tell us which one has that 8 yr / 160k warranty. I don't know about you, but I can't see me putting 180k kms on a car in 8 yrs in Thailand. I've yet to do that, 22.5k kms consistently and I've racked up the kms on my cars. More than most I suspect. I was putting on 70ish kms a day on the odometer with my school runs, 17+ kms x 2 x 2, before finding good van service and still couldn't rack up 22k kms a year.
  14. Why do you continue to post information you know is false: "8 -year or 180,000 - kilometer battery warranty . 4-year or 120,000- kilometer car warranty" https://www.mgcars.com/en/NewsActivities/Detail/New-MG-ZS-EV-Launch-2022 GWM's Ora Good Cat is the same as MG's warranty. Unless you are referring to a different brand or model, then please specify.
  15. Anyone else sensing a solution to the soi dog problem locally. I think aggressive dogs roaming the streets just took a back seat ????
  16. Perhaps join the 21st Century, instead of living in the past. USD was 53.9 baht 1Jun98. Who cares, as doesn't help now. 40 in 2020 when I got here, up to 45, then dropped to 29, now back to 35. All I care about is what it will be when it gets deposited in my account here. Not that there's anything I can do, except rejoice it's not longer 29. Cigarettes used to be $.33 cents a pack for Pall Mall. My brother and I used to fight over who went to the store to buy them for our parents, as we got the change from $.35 cents. 2 cents bought 2 X 5 pieces of candy that contained 5 pieces inside. 50 chewables ... pure bliss to a 5-6-7 yr old. 1st salaried job I got paid < $1 an hour. Paper route before that was $12 a week and I was happy to have that. Beginning of the financial empire ???? All totally irrelevant to my next deposit at the bank, and how much it will cost to make beef jerky this week for me & the dog. Biggest fear is Singha stopped making Kopper Craft beer, and I now have to go back to Snowy. Mind you, not the end of the world.
  17. No argument there, and Buddha forbid anyone should assist in her birthing a child. Ignorance and stupidity seems to be hereditary, rather than a learned trait with some.
  18. Can't read above, but nobody can stop interstate travel: https://news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/kavanaugh-says-states-may-not-bar-travel-to-obtain-an-abortion
  19. Sales pitch for abortions ... ???? Or is he running for re-election. People love to see & hear themselves in the news. It's not illegal to travel to another state for abortion, or any medical treatment.
  20. For me, in the USA, with few exception, my cars didn't last long, and 3 yrs tops. Here for some reason, 3 new in 20 yrs, 2 Vios, 1 Mazda 2. Actually would have kept the M2 longer, but having a few baht more than I need, and daughter needing a car, we upgraded to something more comfy, mainly lack of road noise. But all around a more comfy ride. Other 3 were fine, bit noisy, but served us well. Really loving our MG ZS, in case I haven't said it enough already. Does suck up the petrol though, 11 kpL. And with the EV's, ฿240k incentive (1 yr too late), switching to the EV is easy, no risk of being unhappy with the car, hopefully. MG EP was even ฿180k cheaper, but wife didn't like the seating position ???? There spec'd about the same, just one called a 'station wagon' vs 'SUV' ???? Image is everything. As posted already, numbers work out great for us, especially with solar at the house. For us, it's a keeper till I c r a p out at least, and if I last as long as the warranty, that will make me the older person in my immediate family line ???? Got a cousin who is 83, so that's reassuring. If on the road, long distance a lot, or no solar, or change cars every 3 ish years, then EV may not be for some. Obviously if can't charge at home, definitely wouldn't work. Cost per km, PEA or solar, and extensive CS network (no Qs for now), so not too many reason not to buy, especially if keeping for at least the warranty. MG EP, ฿771, not much more than some ICEs, especially if imported, then probably cheaper. GWM & NETA and more coming on the market this and next few years. Various hybrids already available, then the high end imports are already here also. Plenty of choice.
  21. That's all fine and dandy, but are you going to change your 'spin'. Still implying the cars are dead after the warranty. Still implying they depreciate to -0- faster than ICEs And still asking silly questions you know the answers to; 'does MG has battery swap' Yes, the EV/Thailand thread was geared to what's available, what's coming, simply EVs in Thailand. Not EVs vs ICEs which it turned into....again.
  22. why not just give everyone free cars .... ???? Again, did you start the thread just to troll as the other threads died, and you were being ignored. ????
  23. Maybe the govt will pinch some of that tax money off of PEA, along with the premium price / tax they get from CS (charging stations) Love the what if scenarios. What if no tax for next 10 or 20 years, as an incentive to go EV .... OH MY .... ???? think positive once in a while. always with the negative waves.
  24. Just used that because our out & abouts are winding down. And it's a good base, for others to compare. In the past, yes, we racked up about 20k +/- a year. But using the past year of driving, only 10k on the ZS (ICE) & 2500 on the E-MB. We could easily get by on 5k kms a year, as everything, 7-11, Makro, surf is within 5 kms of the house. Those 10k on the car include a few out & abouts. Averaging about 10k a year sounds about right in the future, and that's IF, I live that long. The wife is a homebody, and she would only do 5k a year after I c r a p out. Right now we're doing, mostly me & dog, 10 kms a day, so < 5k a yr. and that's all on the scooter, which won't change with the EV car. I don't think anyway.
