  1. Pretty obvious ... .. If people wanted the law changed, it would be.
  2. I was referring to the 'global' ... record amount ???? From OP: "Experts are calling time on the fossil age as new analysis shows wind and solar power produced a record amount of the world’s electricity last year......The renewables generated 12 per cent of global electricity in 2022" That's just embarrassing ...
  3. Don't store much food, though do stock up, and can go a month without shopping if had to. Should start canning fruit though, when in season. Simply makes sense. Add that to all the other cooking from scratch we do, as not fans or processed food. Prepped ... don't need any municipal service, have solar, EVs & rain water if needed. Few kms from surf, so will never go hungry. Surrounded by coconut & pineapple farms, beside own garden, a work in progress. @CharlieH Thanks for Mason Jar link
  4. Me, USA govt soc sec age 66 (born 1954) life expectancy 67.7 yrs of age Brother 67 (born 1960) life exp about same Now, male life expectancy USA 74.5 France 79.2 yrs of age Female life expectancy always longer. 80.2 / 85.3 Not counting all the holidays & time off EU countries (FR - 30 days) get vs USA workers get. Some 1 or 2 weeks...total. High side maybe 4 weeks, 10 nat. holidays.
  5. Got another notification to upgrade to W11, seems like every w10 upgrade, has yet another reminder to upgrade to W11. Rather annoying actually. Take a hint, I don't want. Seems with every upgrade, I lose features I like, and access to files I have, unless paying for Win program to access. Why I still have XP & 7 on 2 other laptops.
  6. There's 3 IQair meter there, 80/102/107 ATM. Winds (windy.com) coming from the N (80) location to S (102) & SE (107) https://www.windy.com/-Show---add-more-layers/overlays?9.516,99.834,11 IQair showing winds from W
  7. Ditto .. 13k & 24k BTU units mounted in & outside on the wall. Same with previous house at Udon Thani, so a 12 yr test of time (UT), and buyers haven't advised of anything falling off.
  8. Just re-watched the vid myself, and realize/remembered, he proofs overnight, which is not needed. Once loaf formed for final proof, I set timer for 30 minutes, @ 30 mins, then preheat the oven, as hot as possible 230°C for ours, w/convection fan on, and 10-15 minutes later, then pop it in the oven. So about a 45min final proof.
  9. They'll probably just restrict ISPs from providing it. It's just the beginning. Y'all need to Google 'Restrict Act'. In present stand alone form, won't pass the vote, IMHO, unless it's snuck in on another piece of legislation, and a common practice. Of course you're not reading or hearing much about it in the MSM. If so, only mention TikTok, and not what it really means if instituted. Trump is so much more important, so keep talking about that ???? Why I only read MSM for the comic relief. Better news sources for better info. I'd link it here, but not allowed.
  10. Those considering solar, especially if wanting to play 'off' grid, do need to pay attention. Mismanage your use and you may get caught short. Used 12kWh during non production hours yesterday/overnight ???? Usually average 7kWh during that period. We'll call that 'user error' ... dumbA$$ Decided to bake bread late in the afternoon. Wife on sewing machine till almost sunset. 2 ACs going, 2 frigs, laptop and TV, a bit longer than should have. 1 AC all night (13BTUs @ 26°C). Woke up and ESSs @ 40%/8kWh of 20kWh ESSs before production matched consumption. AC still running, coffee being made, grinder/kettle/coffee machine ???? Noon and only at 84%, since a bit of overcast, clouds & pollution today ???? Batteries usually topped up between 1000-1100 hrs. @ 100% / 1315 hrs. Inverter is set to have the grid kick in at 30%, which hasn't happened since installed, even when having 1 ESS (10kWh), though being conservative then. EVs were already topped up, since staying in this weekend, Songkran, so no issue there. Grid is available if needed, if being a total airhead. Brutal month, heat wise, as 28° ish overnight, outside ambient temps. Production, an average of 33.3kWh a day for April.
  11. To add, all switches on the FlySky TX need to be in the proper position. Try re-binding. Also test on your other drones, to eliminate the TX as the problem. Assuming new drone uses a computable protocol with TX. Check to make sure the RX wire/plug hasn't come loose since initial binding.
  12. Me shooting firearms in the yard would be a pretty good clue. Have a nice day
  13. Something wrong with being prepared. Home invasions & burglaries are real. Most homes in my neighborhood were broken into, except mine, my friends, and other known gun owners .... Go figure. It's a right to own ... nobody is forced to participate. I have flat tire repair in my car, Haven't had a flat tire (car) in years, if not a decade, but I still have a fix or spare. Better to have, than need, works in so many situations.
  14. Yes, and why getting scoped (both directions for my) is recommend every 5 yrs after certain age. Think I'm due next year, for my next one. Only 1 or 2 very small polyps removed last time. As I stated earlier, abdominal ultrasound is always good to have, as will show masses, that may or may not need further investigation.
  15. Next up ... a revised version of the 'Restrict Act' that would get pass the vote. 1984 ... better keep that 2nd Amendment ... you're going to need it. Pay attention ... stop being 'DISTRACTED' FREE THOUGHT ... to be banned in the not to distant future.
  16. Taking a guess, but most drafted into the Nam war, never owned or even shot a rifle, let alone how to care for one. Major 'known' drawback of the AR-15, M16, M14, and told about in boot camp (yes I was told) ... they suck if they get dirt, any dirt in the barrel or mechanisms. Complaints to parents, would fall under 'user error'...IMHO Also the .223, excellent in open areas, not so in jungle warfare, as round is too light vs the heavy AK round. Still an excellent weapon, M16, and as with all machines, only as good as the operator. I loved it. I talk from experience, not news-blips or Op-eds. Even more fun to shoot is the M60 .. ????
  17. Not the civilian version and I doubt if any military uses it today. US military didn't like it, and why it was upgraded to the M16. If it wasn't for the media, and the attempt to ban it, it wouldn't be so popular. For 30 yrs, it had poor sales, and not until the Brady bill did sales rocket. With every attempt to ban it, sales and profits (price also) have gone up. You want to encourage people to own something .... tell them they can't.
  18. I used to shower at work, only because I was hungover, and or running late. Or never made it home to begin with, the night prior. After the first wave of flights, (1 hr) I'd shower and be fresh for the rest of the day.
  19. If I ever returned to the USA, that is exactly what I have in mind to do. Wouldn't be for a year, but till my end of days. Really can't think of a better existence if I returned. Being nomadic works for me, always has. And NO ... family would think that's way too cool, and not a nutter. We're like minded in that aspect.
  20. As safe as anywhere IF using common sense.
  21. AR-15 is simply better for most uses: https://www.diffen.com/difference/AK-47_vs_AR-15 Not a fan of the AR-15, especially for the price. Thought my Ruger Mini 14 a far superior firearm. If I could only have 1, it would be the Mini 14. AK-47 was fun to shoot. FN49 even more enjoyable, as was my Mauser 8mm. Both very heavy and would hate to haul them around the forest if hunting. For home defense, 357mag, or pistol grip short Mossberg 12ga would be my choice, and owned both. Glock 9mm for concealed carry, is pretty hard to beat.
  22. I doubt if the AR-15 is used by any military, so no, it is not a weapon of war.
  23. CEA & AFP are cancer marker tests, routinely given with a check up. I always get a full abdominal ultrasound.
  24. Wrong. It's also available in semi-auto, as I owned one. Guessing the AR15 is much lighter and cheaper than the AK.
  25. Left UT about 7 yrs ago. Have also had Makro's Australian beef picanha, and agree, some of the best around. Prefer that, as I get to cut the steaks thick. As stated earlier, the 2 for 1s at Gourmet Market, Hua Hin, are decent values also, when available, for those in the area.
