  1. You certainly don't have to be rich, to take advantage of 'business' deductions at tax time. Being self employed, I wrote ogf 1000's every year. Percentage of home expenses (office/storage/showroom), and all that goes toward that; mortgage, ins, electric, water, gas, taxes, phone, petrol. Same with vehicle. along with dinner (business meeting) when dining out. In USA, you can even be in the negative, for 5 yrs (use to be) as you develop a customer base. When I was involved in a lawsuit, requiring me to show income, judge asked me if I was in jail for 6 yrs .... huh ... he pointed out I didn't claim any income to IRS for 6 yrs ... oh that time ... slow business building ???? Tax laws are there for everyone to use & abuse, unless of course you enjoy funding the defense contractors & the US Military being used as corporate security. Feel free to give them 40% of your income, to kill people you don't know overseas. I prefer not to contribute.
  2. Spotted a Fomm One yesterday, though for ฿499k, hard not to get the Neta V for a few baht more. Fomm One powerhouse Motor power : 5kW × 2 Maximum torque: 280N・m×2 (FF in-wheel motor) The Li-ion battery is replaceable. Battery Cloud support can check the operation information mobile phone battery Charging time 6-8 hours Distance 160 km. https://chobrod.com/car-price/ราคา-fomm-one-9427#:~:text=Fomm One เป็นรถพลังงาน,One อยู่ที่ 499%2C000 บาท
  3. It's all 'real Thailand' .... ... tourist ghettos ... no thanks, except to peek ... large metros, almost not 3rd world ... rural, still 7-11s, but no westerners around ... very rural Thailand .. a few minutes past that last 7-11, where electricity & running water may be a luxury ????
  4. Sorry, but I think you would have to be a total idiot, to allow any car, anywhere, to self drive. I'll never take my eyes off the road, or expect any car to perform properly in an emergency situation.
  5. Surat Thani is great, but not the city of, or Samui. Huge province and lovely Cheow Lan Lake & Khaosok being located there. Khon Kaen does have one of the better restaurants in Thailand. Greenleaf Hydrofarm & Restaurant and well worth popping in if out by the airport, or even a special trip to.
  6. Richard Barrow reported on his Twitter blog, that his schools meter was showing bad AQI #s, and the around the corner Govt meter was showing good AQI #s. So curious, he strolled over to see what was up, and sure enough, they had a misting fan positioned over their meter ... ????
  7. Guess it depends on the HA, as mine cost ฿220k, with 2 stents placed (maybe 1 (2pcs), all in. If people think that's expensive, they should stay in their home country for their crap universal healthy care.
  8. y'all can have the hail. we already get high winds & temps, and keeps my drones grounded.????
  9. I came really close to buying one on FB MarketPlace, as it was set up for drinks, and selling point, already solarized with inverter & batteries. Great price .... BUT ... NO seller info ???? Was going to turn it into a camper. Now don't need, have the EV, which I can run the AC all night if wanting, and if can't find a place. Though yet to not find a cheap 'pet friendly' GH when out & about. Might play camping in EV, just for the hell of it at almost local park just south of us, @ Hat Wanakorn National Park; wife ฿20 me ฿100 ???? car ฿50 camping ฿30 We have a nice memory foam bed topper that fits perfectly in the back of the ZS. Was actually just looking for coffee shop surfside, they have, so asked wife to can and ask, if need to pay fees just to use coffee shop or restaurant. So cost ฿170 for privileges' to buy a coffee. They really have to work on their marketing skills.
  10. Ask away, although I find Makro has everything I need to play home chef, from scratch. Cheat sometimes, if convenient. Makro having many things in bulk/larger packaging, than other chains (Big C, Lotus's). If I can't fink it locally, or at Gourmet Markets when at Hua Hin, then I must not need, or will substitute something for that ingredient. Not a fan of ordering perishable food items online. Really nothing I can't source almost locally, for anything I'm cooking. I do have years of experience cooking for myself, even working in 3 bakeries, though not sure how helpful that is, as not keeping any of those recipes for 1000 doughnuts at at time, or 100 butter cakes. Technik knowledge yes, but learn more simply on YouTube of late. One thing needed, is a good convection over, if baking/roasting. Our house is basically a giant eat in kitchen, with 1 bedroom ???? And still don't seem to have enough counter space.
  11. You could make it 'free', and I still wouldn't bother. Visited voluntarily, to get income letter, days past, as nice hotel break at Sofitel (now Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid), having excellent brekkie buffet and decent brewery in lobby. Embassy did letters on site. Good for any overnight/brekkie pig out, and peek around town, but 1 day was enough.
  12. Fit out a Suzuki Carry with a bar, w/solar panels on the roof.
  13. Cool We have the SUSU model, needed the basket for the dog, having for 1.5 yrs / 4300 kms on it. Still loving it ❤️ On it almost everyday for my therapy session with dog, walking at park, and cruising by the surf, making sure it's still there. About 12 kms every day, weather depending.
  14. Love how they announce events, but never give any details about or how to find. They announced 'dragon boat racing, couple weeks ago at HH, and no location mentioned anywhere, except on the river. Would have went if I knew where exactly it was. Asked on local forum...no response. Just came back from surfside, PKK municipality, and not notices of any event posted anywhere. 10 days away, so much for any non-locals planning on coming. I'm local and still haven't a clue.
  15. Times Group Network = "PAID NEWS" ... is not news. Companies (think fossil fuel corp.) or anyone, pay to have articles written and published - wiki ... nuff said Owner(s) The Times Group Sister newspapers The Economic Times Navbharat Times Maharashtra Times Ei Samay Mumbai Mirror Vijaya Karnataka Bangalore Mirror Times Now News In the author's defense, last July, she wrote a blip: 5 benefits of buying an electric car By Shaveta Dua ,
  16. No health ins, but healthy oops fund, for just such occasion. Really depends on what, prognosis, cost of, and if can do to my standard. Returning to USA to use Medicare, and top notch surgeon, wouldn't be a problem for myself. Niece is big wig surgeon, and has rights at 3 different hospitals in Philly, PA ... so would be easy. No Q & best care. The plane ride and being away from the Wonder Dog would be the hardest part. Get health check ups (full) every year or so, and hopefully would catch the usual survivable suspect. IF NOT ... oh well, as past my expiration date (67.7 yrs), and really don't want to hang around if not 75% whole and smiling....everyday. Realize I'm on borrowed time already, and certainly wouldn't waste too much of the wife & kid's inheritance, just to hang out for another year or 2 feeling like krap.
  17. Graph from vid above, and if the Wuling would have sold for ฿200k or less, I probably would have bought that, and kept the ICE for O&As .... maybe. Was ฿400k ish + registration free, so a bit silly priced for the specs. I would have bought that instead of the scooter though, if priced right. About ฿150k cheaper now with govt incentive.
  18. Rather just spend it. 3 or 4 trips to the bank per year won't wear me out. I get to drive by, and peek in the window, if near empty, I'll pop in for a withdrawal. Required to bring in 65k a month, so I spend it. Can't take it with me when I krap it.
  19. TH can't seem to process/recycle the plastic it produces and discards. So one does have to wonder where the extra they import is going. Thankfully, they are supposed to stop importing in a few years.
  20. Salsa, Salmon & Eggs on bun: Eggs Trump No sauce, as don't wont to look like him Hot weather so lots of sandwiches. Simplistic, Spicy tortilla chips, slow cooked pork, spicy bologna, cheese, pickles & mustard. Inspired by, but not a Cuban, we'll call it a Cayman Salmon Nuggets
  21. No, anything over $10k USD has to be reported to USA, by the bank, then I have to file FBAR form with USA's IRS. All silly & redundant, as they know exactly where the funds are coming from.
  22. Yep, only 2 where we are, and they closed 1, sadly, the most convenient one, at the Lotus's mall, open later & weekends, when people can actually use. Also having 2 or 3 tellers. Now main branch, crowded, and still only uses 2 teller of the 4 or 5 windows. What a Joke
  23. Yea ... people seem to be adding quite a bit to fit 'their' spin. I lived in a 15 minute city ... until I was about 12 or 13 years old, then I realized there was a whole world an hour or 2 away on my bicycle. OMG ... discovered even more interesting things available to see & do when having a motorized vehicle. Damn if they didn't put wings on a bus, and you could fly and see other cultures and FURTHER YOUR EDUCATION IN ALL THINGS. Why would anyone want to restrict people's movement and ability to communicate with other cultures & LEARN. Just think if I never traveled, I'd think Philly PA USA was the center of the Universe .... or .... the USA was the greatest of everything, and everyone loved Americans from the United States. Mushrooms ... feed them Sh!t & keep 'em in the dark.
  24. Saw that, different news-blip. Didn't post, as unapproved source (honest, non MSM), so didn't bother searching for other repeat sourced news-blip. China leading the world / industry. Think others should start to pay attention, or not. Som naa na
  25. Went to Ban Krut today (60 kms & 1 hr away), for a coffee/pastry & dinner. I do that, lite munch, a few times a week. Dine out, at least a few times a month, somewhere between Hua Hin & Ban Krut, 170 kms stretch of surfside venues. Would that be allowed ... I think not. Wonder if there would be time limits to your time away. Passed on a swim, though surf was looking inviting. But would want to overnight and didn't plan on it. No surf that I'd swim in within 15-45 mins 'drive' that I'd swim in, let alone be 15 min walk or bike ride. Not even sure I could make it to the local surfside restaurants in 15 minutes, and they're < 5 kms away. Car yes, walk or bike it ... NO So the powers to be, would like me to: ... Eat ... Sleep ... Work (if employed) ... troll AN ... watch 'approved' media ... AND be thankful I'm allowed to do even that. Hell Yea ... Sign me up ????
