What’s behind the steep jump in pork prices?
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
To the title ... greed. Because they can, and will, until they can't. -
OP, this is what you're hearing about, and the one you should get. Once or twice a year, JIC ???? Depending on your diet of course.
-
To the title .... try ... NO To the OP ... "will I be having better quality relationships if I'm speaking thai?" Oh hell yea, and you'll avoid the whole P4P that most seem to live on. Pay for it, nah, that's completely unnecessary, unless really fat & ugly. Picked up enough to get by on my own, and if on my own, would pick up and learn a bit more, but find it unnecessary. With newer translation apps, it's completely unnecessary, for any language, though learning would be convenient. Simply too lazy and no need to now.

What's your favourite vodka that is easy to get in Thailand?
KhunLA replied to tomster's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
If your drinking alcohol for a buzz, sugar is the least of your worries. ..... moderation Actually drink very little alcohol. Kind of like my liver, and can't remember last time I got past a couple (2) Mojitos or 1 liter of beer. Over a decade since last time I had a hangover. Kid's stuff, and cut that out when I hit 50 yrs old. -
Price is the sticking point for me. Even though long run, they'll pay for themselves vs petrol & maintenance, that's a big leap for range and performance / highway speed. Range being limited to a slower speed, and for Thailand, a few more EVs on the road, and the now adequate charging stations will have Qs, longer than I'd want to wait, as out & about more than most. The convenience of topping up the ICE in 5 minutes, is a fair trade for once or twice a year killing 45 minutes at the dealer, sipping coffee on the internet, waiting for the oil change or tune up. Around town, they, EVs really can't be beat. Way to practical. I drive my E-motorcycle & ebike a few times a day. Our ICE, maybe once a week. Countries need to do a lot more non fossil fuel energy, but that's not happening anytime soon. Dictated by the way too powerful oil cartels.

Oh my, will you look at that:

You're welcome ... have at it.

Let me know when the thread gets back to EV of all kinds. Isn't there an ICE vs EV thread ? There should be.

GBP loss against the THB had nothing to do with a 'free floating' market, or what is suppose to resemble it. That was punishment for Brexit. You can thank the Rothschilds / Central Banking / EU for that. -
What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2022)
KhunLA replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Mayor E09 ... sh!t hit the fan ... watching them both. Intro to 1883 doesn't bode well for the end of the journey ... ???? Slim pickins lately, movie wise, and not much good, along with a few TV series ended their season. -
Chonburi ... in the top 10 most densely populated provinces ... and they expect what ??? Isan...10 minutes out, and your in rural areas. Flat & boring as hell, unless living on edge of the plateau. Lived there 16 yrs, could wait to leave. Certainly wouldn't be to Chonburi. Why did they even go to ? Little research goes a long way to enjoyable out & abouts.

Motorbike Purchase Preferred Method
KhunLA replied to night_rider's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
You do know a motorbike is a motor vehicle ... ???? Been driving them for 40 yrs, 22 yrs here, and no major oops yet. They as safe as your driving (defensive) ability. I have the bare minimum insurance on my motorbike, as that's all I need. Agree, 4 wheeler are safer ... usually. And Thailand is not the place for a westerner to learn on a motorcycle, unless living rural. -

Need to ask them ... ???? My guess, Yank badged resale value sucks here, especially with Chevy throwing in the towel. My brother loved his Ranger, had 2, just switch over to Ram, loves that also. Give me the best specs for best price, don't care what name is on it.

... simply a Mazda (T6), and been around for 15 ish years, so decent track record.

KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Thanks. Life list, only started in Thailand, and up to 160 ish here, though suspect more, as I stopped looking at the minor differences in species. Notices others in FB wildlife group, and think ... "hold on, I got that bird" ... just didn't realize the variation and actually different name ... ???? Happy Snapping ... with both ???? -
Pub-like Eateries to Be Closed at Level 4 COVID Alert

Some folks can't read past the headline, and even get that wrong: "Closure of Pub-like Eateries to Be Mulled" -
Thai's mindset might be, intern'l tourism is done for now, and immediate future. So let's at least stop any new variants from entering. Sounds like a good plan to me, till people stop dying here. Really need to go back to 16 day quarantine for all arrivals. 65.24% of these came in on Test & Go And they are arriving / testing positive every day, and intern'l tourist, not Thais returning as some imply. Yesterday's tally was 351 tested positive, and very few are Thai. Top 15 arrival countries, testing positive, and 1st column of category are Thais. So from the UK 35 infected, 1 was Thai. What the hell, here 16-30
