Question about “Pothole” Coffee shop
KhunLA replied to Nickelbeer's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Neither upset nor anti, as pointed out, I enjoy a doobie now & then myself, 'at home' or surfside, or where ever. Go to Patts ... NO THANKS, let alone sit indoors at a beach location, just to smoke a doobie at a premium price. I was out & about more than a few times today; park, surfside, relaxing on the veranda. Even made a Makro run. Don't really need to go out, as lovely view from right here in the AC. Honey ... get me another beer ... ???? -
Question about “Pothole” Coffee shop
KhunLA replied to Nickelbeer's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Posted so people can decide for themselves what 'public' & 'smoking' is, and the law for it. If they think smoking ganga in a place that serves the public is different than what is in the written law, then UP2them, if wishing to test said law. What ever you do, don't buy a doobie and go smoke it at the beach ???? -
Question about “Pothole” Coffee shop
KhunLA replied to Nickelbeer's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Possibly a 2000 baht fine. Vendors get 20k fine, I think. But as already stated ... coffee shops may be offering a bit of 'tea' to hide behind the smoke & mirrors. https://www.holidify.com/pages/smoking-in-thailand-2597.html#:~:text=Source For smoking in public, around THB 2000 or more. -

Question about “Pothole” Coffee shop
KhunLA replied to Nickelbeer's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Then it better not be 'open to the public', and have 'memberships' to enter. Using your logic, bars should be open, 24 hr, since 'private property'.???? -
We went with lots of extended overhang. Inside red is living space. House had to be built E-back/veranda (blue) area to W-front & carport. S-has storage room (blue), length of, before interior living space. Takes all the heat, what little there is. E-has , unshaded, wall length wall in closet, take most exposure heat. Which is the bedroom, theoretically, we're out of, after sunrise, and back in, after sunset. Realistically, AC'd all day with solar, so don't care.

Don't need a turbo to go from A to B, at 90-120 kph. If it's your thing ... ENJOY Don't think I'll ever use or need more than: Torque 350 Nm Power (PS)148

Don't want to sound like that. If buying with their wallet means practical ... that's me. Can afford most any car, just prefer not to. I could have bought a top end Fortuner for 1.8 mill Instead, bought a new custom house for 1.1 mill & 700k MG ZS Cars don't do anything for me, but having 'MY' house does.

Battery Tricycles - Mobility Scooters
KhunLA replied to rohitsuk's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Don't think most can be registered, although have never heard of anyone getting cited for them, aside from Phuket/mentioned above. More than a few locally on the roads (PKK municipality) and no issues. The battery in the one linked, is lead acid, and explains the very nice price. Listed here: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/6-dzf-20-48-20-4-1875-165cm-i2499943467-s15774059254.html? Could upgrade to a DECO lithium battery powered one. Considerable upgrade in quality & price: https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/product-deco/electric-motorcycles/family-1 2 other models to consider on the site; family 2 & 3 -
That's a whole new ballgame & price bracket. 2,3 & 4X the price of the Swifts & Celerio. Even 2X the price of our ZS. Our MG ZS was a big comfy upgrade from the Vios & Mazda2, though still in the thrifty price bracket. 2X+ the entry Celerio price, but just a tad more than top end Swift price. Had a GRAB driver in Krung Thep, and surprisingly showed up in a Fortuner, which is impressive, and a big upgrade over the MG ZS's ride. Also 2-3X the price. Spending 700k+ for machine to go from point A to B was still a stretch for me. Not really a car person, but glad we did, and yea, we deserve it ???? If the EV wasn't an investment on saving money, with quick ROI, I'd be damn if we'd be spending just shy of what the house cost for a 4 wheeled machine ????
-
Quite enjoyed ours, and used for 7 ish years and certainly felt it was good & safe enough to pass on to our daughter, w/135k kms, I think. They are fine cars, although just a wee bit more baht, and one can upgrade to something a bit more comfy. IF, buying top end model of the Mazda2, Swift.

People reminded not to smoke at Hua Hin markets
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
Don't think people need a reminder about pubs / bars, as should be common knowledge now. Fresh markets ... have to admit, that never crossed my mind. Now if only they'd enforce it. 21st century ... not a good time to be smoker. Banning tobacco products entirely would be even better. Never a true believer that 2nd hand smoke was that much of a health hazard for non smokers. UNTIL ... turned the AQI meter on while smoking (a doobie for me) in the bedroom. Watched it go from <10 to 3-4-5-600+ ???? -
Thanks Many of them, first 6 months having the camera, were exclusively the kit lens (16-50mm). Then I bought what some consider the telephoto kit lens, 55-210mm. Definitely better for wildlife, if not going 'all in' expensive, relative. Sony now offers a better 70-350mm lens for those not wanting, needing to make a bigger leap. They kind of got put in the closet, when I picked up a better lens, 18-105mm G F4. Could actually crop/zoom in post, and get equal or better results than the 210mm. Pricier lens for a reason, and really nice all around lens. Stays on the one @6400 body. Then for wildlife, actually needed if shooting birds, I picked up the SEL200600G lens, as named, 200-600mm. Very impressive, and almost expensive, 69k baht. And that stays on my other @6400 body. Since on a APS-C body, the 600=900mm Keep the @6000, for my 'specialty' lens; 35mm f1.7 ... for night time, and super bokeh (blurring) 12mm f2 for again low light & wide landscape shots TBH, I rarely use the @6000, as the phone does an excellent job in low light & landscape. Not so much with bokeh, but the other @6400s will fill in nicely if wanting. I say the SEL200600G is almost expensive, as next step up, 600F4 prime lens is $10k USD ????

Thanks ... Just curious if any were silly priced. TBH, a 3 baht difference for 40kW isn't exactly going to break the wallet ????
-
You can't get any cheaper than ฿328k (MT) / ฿408k (AT) Not a bad thing ... just reality 2022 looks good, though don't think I'd enjoy long hwy drives in it, and would think way too noisy, along the lines of, of worse, than the Vios & Mazda2.

While on the topic, what prices have y'all been seeing/paying at the CS. MG told us we'd get their 'card' or use app @ ฿7, (forget which, but app) which I thought was a bit steep, and thanks for buying MG ???? Any of them get sillier than ฿7, as that's quite the mark up, especially since I believe PEA is at present, giving them a discounted rate. Our ZS will probably arrive after any 'free' promos from any vendors, most expired already, unless someone new comes to the market. Seen some promo at ฿4 and up. What's the real prices charging if out & about ? Hopefully not too many over ฿7, though the ICE cost 1400 to fill up a while back, so 350 would be the extreme negative to top up a battery @ MG CS. Saves ฿1000 and might pay for that hotel room ????
