The price is mostly fixed, you can negotiate the extras a bit. As the previous poster pointed out correctly, it also depends on the availability, why should they give you anything if there is a month long waiting list anyway... if the model in which you are interested isn't in high demand and they have it ready to sell they might throw in more freebies, maybe even a discount. I recently ordered a new car which has a long wait list. Some dealers didn't even want to give insurance or include registration fees. In the end I picked the dealer who did at least give the "standard" extras, first class insurance, registration fees, and some basic film.

The main benefit of being married is that you can apply for a one year extension, allowing you to live in Thailand easily. Since you don't plan to do this, there is hardly any benefit for you. Being married allows you to apply for a 60 day extension, so if you enter with 45 days visa exempt, you can extend it for the regular 30 days, and then another 60 days, might become handy at some point. A driving license can be obtained with a tourist visa, and you don't get free health care. Only if he has a work permit, and somebody in this position could also easily apply for an extension based on working. The marriage extension has the small advantage that it doesn't end when the job ends.

It will be canceled to the date the letter from your school states. So if you have a letter stating that you stop studying in one month and take this to immigration today, then they would cancel it to the date stated in the letter, leaving you a month in Thailand. If you don't have a re-entry permit you could also just leave Thailand, this would also cancel your extension. You can also apply for an extension for working without leaving Thailand.

Scammed by landlord
FriendlyFarang replied to Kalorymetr's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
He wanted to rent an ant infested room? The agent informed him before renting that the room is ant infested? I don't think so, so he didn't get what he paid for. If you have enough free time you can file a police report. If there will ever be any outcome ..... who know.... But while you do the police report (and you have printouts of the chat etc. on the table with the police offer), you might want to take some pictures of it, and send this together with the police report to the land lord to inform him that you reported him to police, maybe he gets scared and decides to refund the money. -
Considerations for shower hot water heater

You either get something like this: https://shopee.co.th/GROHE-GROHTHERM-1000-NEW-ก๊อกผสมยืนอาบThermostat-34143003-i.706241291.16220007754?sp_atk=00cf18f4-56aa-4f3a-b4a6-e5aae59be5ba&xptdk=00cf18f4-56aa-4f3a-b4a6-e5aae59be5ba You connect it to the hot/cold lines and set it to the desired temperature Or you get something like this: https://shopee.co.th/TOSHIBA-Water-Heater-(4-500W-White)-DSK45ES5KB-i.3850059.1969808941?sp_atk=69307b59-8059-4755-9da5-20c90ece092a&xptdk=69307b59-8059-4755-9da5-20c90ece092a You simply connect it to your cold line and set it to the desired temperature With both of these, if the water pressure changes, it will automatically regulate the water flow to keep the temperature stable. It does of course have its limitations, if the water pressure changes too quickly it might not be able to regulate fast enough. -
If this is shown in both directions at the same time somebody has installed the wrong lights. If this light is green the opposite direction should have a red light. So just treat it as a regular green light.

No Car Blue Book, Car Not In Your Name.
FriendlyFarang replied to pleple's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
You go to your local immigration office and ask for one. If they give you trouble you pay 1000 baht to an agent to get one. The only province where it’s not possible is Bangkok, but you can do a trip to a neighboring province and register it there. -

A vehicle can be registered with a tourist visa, if he buys a car as a gift for his girlfriend it's just reasonable that he transferred the money to the dealer. Why would she not see the car again? Currently it's legally her car, if OP wants to change this he would have to go to court and challenge the transfer in her name. Currently she could simply demand that OP gives her the car back. If OP refuses to do this she can go to a police station, report that he stole her car, upon entry to Thailand OP will be arrested, and depending on the circumstances he might sit in jail until his court hearing. He might then be prosecuted for theft, and deported/banned afterwards. Offering her some money to do the transfer in OPs name is the best choice, but OP has basically no leverage. -

She can just claim that OP gifted the car to her, she has evidence for this, because OP registered the car in her name. Does OP have any evidence that he didn't gift her the car? She can also report the car as stolen, it's legally her car, this might see OP arrested and deported before his case is even heard in court. -

To change it to your name you need the blue book and the paperwork signed by your ex gf. -
You definitely don't need 2.5mm for some LEDs, 1.5mm is more than enough. If you can't find it in Thailand, you could order a cable with 5 cores from China, for example on aliexpress.com

When does TM30 reset?
FriendlyFarang replied to Kalorymetr's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You don't have to do a new TM30 when you return to your previous address. The owner could theoretically be fined if they don't register you, that's correct. -
20000-25000bt enough for a decent notebook?
FriendlyFarang replied to mrmicbkktxl's topic in IT and Computers
You can definitely get something reasonable for 20-25k. If it has a Ryzen 5 or 7, or an Intel I5 or I7 won't matter too much, I doubt you can notice the difference when doing office stuff. Things I would pay attention to: - Make sure the display is IPS, this is much better than a TN panel. - Laptops in this price range usually come with 8GB ram, make sure that it's possible to upgrade it, if it should become a bottle neck in the future. - Quality of hinges, keyboard and touchpad. Go into a shop, try open/closing the lid, type on the keyboard and use the touchpad. On some models you can just feel that the quality sucks. -
I have the "Essential H&S-16.375M, Nil Deductible, ASEAN excluding Singapore" policy, April Thailand, the insurance policy is actually from LMG insurance.

Thai Post prices and sending parcel to Europe
FriendlyFarang replied to stat's topic in General Topics
Because you are checking regular DHL and not DHL Express. German post outsourced parcels to DHL, which is the "regular" DHL, they only operate in Germany. DHL Express is quite different from regular DHL, and if you check the DHL Express price from Germany to Thailand you see that they charge about 250 Euro for 20kg: https://www.dhl.de/de/privatkunden/pakete-versenden/weltweit-versenden/express-easy.html @OP: Just sell your parts here and buy them new in Germany. -
My April policy says "Hospital room and board: Standard private room, Fully Covered" What does yours say? Why didn't you instruct the hospital to check with April that everything they do is covered?

BTS Asok - then walk to soi 31 - which exit?
FriendlyFarang replied to henrik2000's topic in Bangkok
Should be exit 6, and in case anybody gets lost just tell them to ask anybody where “Citibank” is. -
Laws say what is and not what isn’t. There is no law which says the limit is 90 days, so we can conclude that there is no such limit.
-
There is no such rule/law. It’s not my opinion, it’s a fact, because it’s written in section 42 of the law: http://web.krisdika.go.th/data/law/law2/%C301/%C301-20-9999-update.pdf

But only people with permanent residency status or Thai citizenship are considered as living in Thailand. Non-Immigrant visa holders fall in the same category as tourists, they aren’t considered as living in Thailand.
