I did sometimes wonder about this too, but I suspect that it works similar to school, people don't fail, and no matter how bad something is they pass. Take for example the texts posted here: http://cuir.car.chula.ac.th/handle/123456789/4587 These are master theses, books etc. written by graduates from one of the most prestigious university of Thailand, all these documents have probably been proof read many times by various people. The level of English is just so low, full of basic mistakes, sometimes even incomprehensible. Somehow they still got their masters degree with it.

Exact translations of these words and when appropriate to use them

How about เป็นเหี้ยอะไร -
Loctite here in Thailand is usually sold in bottles like this: Blue if you plan to remove the screw in the future, green if you are sure that you don't want to remove the screw. Nearly every Global House, Homepro, Mr. DIY etc. should have it. IIRC a small bottle is less than 100 Baht.

And if you use a pump to suck in the water, then you don't only get the water, but through small leaks in the pipes you might also suck in germs etc. and contaminate your water Then you, or possibly your neighbors who then also have the contaminated water might get sick from it Never install a pump if you don't have a tank
-
Then you should not install a pump, because germs etc. might enter the pipes.

Do you have a water tank?

40 underage pub-goers found at a pub in Sisaket
FriendlyFarang replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Police can go to any pub in vicinity of a university and they will find many people under 20 years old. Next up: Police surprised to find prostitutes in Pattaya. -
TM30.IO anyone used it to submit TM30?
FriendlyFarang replied to Thailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I doubt he has used it, because the tm30.io website doesn't ask for any documents other than the passport, but the poster wrote "have supporting documents IN YOUR NAME at the address" I don't feel comfortable to upload my passport on some Russian website, so I would do it myself on the immigration website. -
Yes, up to 80k. If hospital costs should exceed this amount, the at fault party would be liable for it (same for property damage). If you are lucky they have first class insurance who would then pay for it. If the other party only has compulsory insurance you would have to ask the other party to pay out of their own pocket, and if they refuse you would have to take them to court.

https://keywaylock.com/transponder-key/ It's a small chip inside the plastic part of the key Small bikes usually don't have them, newer big bikes usually have them, a Forza is somewhere in the middle, price wise, so no idea if it might have one or not. But key cutting shops should know if the key has a transponder or not.
-
Depends on if the Forza key has a transponder in it or not. If no transponder you can go to any key cutting shop, if it should have a transponder you need to go to Honda.

What is "significant"? Let's take for example this scale: https://www.coe.int/en/web/common-european-framework-reference-languages/table-1-cefr-3.3-common-reference-levels-global-scale I would call C1 or C2 "significant English speaking proficiency and literacy", but I think in my time in Thailand I can count the number of Thais who I've met and who achieved this level at one hand. I would think on average doctors have better English skills than most Thais, but even when looking only at doctors it's very rare to find somebody who is in the C levels. Most are somewhere at B1/B2, but don't be surprised to encounter doctors who are at A2. I would put my Thai skill at B2, with deficits in literacy. When I talk with doctors we basically always talk Thai, because my Thai is better than their English.

First step is extending the work permit at the department of employment, using form ตท5 (wp5 in english): https://www.doe.go.th/prd/assets/upload/files/nakhonsithammarat_th/e085d1248ca8b7917a48ccc8bfd76de0.pdf The required documents are listed in this document in Thai. The next step is then to apply for an extension for working at immigration. Currently I didn't find the document which lists the required documents, maybe somebody else here can post it.

In general there are two types of permissions to stay, covered in two different chapters in the law: https://library.siam-legal.com/thai-law/thai-immigration-act-temporary-stay-in-the-kingdom-sections-34-39/ 1: "Chapter 4: Temporary Stay in the Kingdom" includes tourist visas, non-immigrant visas, etc. all kinds of temporary permissions to stay, doesn't matter if it's 30 days, a year or five years, they are all temporary, making you a visitor, not an immigrant. 2: "Chapter 5: Entering to take Residence in the Kingdom" this is permanent residency, and this would make you an immigrant.

She did this already, and so the story continues. After my girlfriend told her mom that we will arrange it ourselves, and because 250 guests don't fit at the house, we would hold the wedding instead at the temple, her mom said: "Why 250 people? Where should all these people come from? I would invite maybe 30 people, just family and a few neighbors." Yesterday her mom said there would be 250 people when she tried to justify the cost of 500k, when we make it clear that we will organize it ourselves and won't just give money to her there are only 30... strange...

You are probably looking at the private household tariff, that's less than the business tariff that the management is paying, Charging you up to 20% over what they actually pay is legal by law, so they are most likely charging a legal rate. Because your house is not directly connected to PEA, but the infrastructure of the management company is in between. PEA would have to install cables from the public street to your house and a meter at your house, then you could pay PEA directly. But the management company will probably not agree to the installation of the cables, so I think there is nothing you can do.

Some more entertainment every day. The mother said that for the wedding they expect about 250 guests, we will have it at their home, it will cost about 500k Baht. We should just transfer them the money, they would organize it. Sure... 5555 After a bit asking around, I estimate that a village wedding for 250 people costs probably less than 100k all-in. There is also simply no way to seat 250 people outside of their home. I guess if we would just give them the money, in the end there would be 50 people, but somehow the 500k would still all be gone.

You are mixing two things up: The work permit has to be extended at the department of employment (3k Baht or so) The permission of stay has to be extended at immigration (1900 Baht) She could do it herself, but she needs documents from her employer. I would assume that her employer is doing it for her, and she is paying her employer. If she says she will do it by herself her employer will probably decline, because he wants to pocket the 10k.

Yes, the shop has to complete a form with your details, so they need your passport. Just showing the receipts at the airport is not enough. You also have to show the goods for which you claim a tax refund at the airport.

Can she live in Thailand legally ?
FriendlyFarang replied to Delight's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
She has to find a job which provides her a work permit. She can then either apply for an extension for working, or one for taking care of her children.
