How do I overdub a video with a TV theme tune?
bbko replied to JeffersLos's topic in IT and Computers
About a week ago my son started learning about video editing and he's using VideoPad by nch, made some nice little simple vids so far but there is a learning curve. Also if you're new to video editing and just want to add some brief music or text to a vid, it's fast and easy to upload if you have a youtube account, simply go to your channel and look for either the "manage videos/create" on a PC, or if using a smartphone look for the "+" at the bottom of the youtube screen and follow the simple instructions to add/edit. Have fun. -
Chinese Embassy Bangkok: Sinovac it is NOT a low quality vaccine
bbko replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
China's Sinovac vaccine may well be safe and effective against Covid, but their exports are notorious for being cheap and of low quality. It seems their exporting history is coming back to haunt them. -
When I did my ASQ reservation earlier this year, the hotel replied back to me in roughly a day and the reservation went rather smoothly . If it's been 4 days I'd suggest sending the hotel a email or even a call or just trying another hotel. As for the COE, IIRC I needed to show them my ASQ confirmation (along with medical insurance and airplane info) before the COE could be issued.

When I bought my house here in Pattaya, we had my wife's uncles (that do construction work for a living) come down from Issan to do the remodeling on our house. I wanted to learn and help also, so there were times I helped with an angle grinder or mixing cement or even just painting. Since this it won't be your own home you are "working" on, I'd just stick to observing.

A quick google search and I found an article giving dates from 2014-2015; Torture and Other Ill-Treatment in Thailand”, documented 74 cases of torture and other violent treatment at the hands of soldiers and the police between 2014 and 2015 alone. These include beatings, suffocation by plastic bags, strangling by hand or rope, waterboarding, electric shocks to the genitals, and other forms of painful and humiliating abuse of individuals in custody.

My Thai wife and I had a conversation about if one of us died what the other one would do (as in remarry or stay single), with a loving smile and twinkle in my eye I said "tilac if you die, I would never remarry", she started acting coy saying I was so sweet and asked if that was because I'd miss her so much, I quickly followed up with "I don't want to go through this life style anymore, I will only get short time girlfriends", 555, instant frown from her.

555, I do. I'm not suggesting Fuji is fine dining but come on. Where do you eat when in Pattaya? -

fuji experience today - only double vaxxed allowed to dine-in
bbko replied to Justanotherone's topic in Pattaya
I ate lunch in the Fugi in Big C Extra yesterday, nothing about vaccines was asked or said to me (although I am fully vaxed and carry the proof if needed). Like many places in Thailand, when it comes to policies; experiences will vary depending who's working, the customer, the time of day, etc. -
Sounds like de Quervain's tenosynovitis
-
I had symptoms similar to the OP which turned out to be "de Quervain's tenosynovitis", when I was working in warehouse doing a lot of repetitive work I developed left wrist pain/stiffness esp at the base of the thumb, pain increased with movement. I tried to take care of it myself and bought a wrist splint but after a couple of months and no improvement I made a appointment to see a orthopedist. The doc checked me out and after doing the "Finkelstein Test" he said it's de Quervain's tenosynovitis and I was using the wrong splint, I should have tried a thumb spica splint. IIRC he gave me two shots, one a steroid shot right into the tendon on my wrist near my thumb, and one with Xylocaine to numb the area. I was feeling better that same morning, he also said if the pain comes back then I would need the outpatient surgery. Luckily it didn't come back.

Here on the Darkside there's a wood furniture shop that does custom work, maybe stop by and see if they can help you. https://www.google.com/maps/@12.9188222,100.9284394,3a,75y,155.98h,78.82t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sw2tPUR5GhQy9uKckcX9AbA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

"he drops instantly 5 feet into an open water drain for the city's water drainage. I park the car, wad through the water, and help pull him out. The water was above his waist" He dropped 5 feet and the water level was only above his waist? Was he 9 feet tall? ???? Joking, in all seriousness I've remember when I was in S Korea during monsoon season they told me people die from walking in calf deep running water and then not being able to see where they are stepping they fall into an open manhole cover, the most common reason for the open drain was nearby shops/residents remove the covers to allow water to drain faster. These flash floods are no joke, be safe.
