One Year Multiple Entry Non-O (Marriage)
bbko replied to chesterubi1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
About 10 years ago, I got my Non O visa based on marriage to my Thai wife at the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. You can see what they require off their website; https://image.mfa.go.th/mfa/0/n3gTFT2TOE/NON-IMMIGRANT_VISA_(O)_FOR_DEPENDANT_-_For_dependant_of_the_main_visa_applicant_or_foreign_spouse_or_children_of_a_Thai-new.pdf -

If Viagra doesn't work, try the other ED meds or better yet, visit your local doc and get a real prescription and not those over-the-counter counterfeit meds. -
Residence Certificate vs Yellow Book
bbko replied to BKKrunaway's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Visit your local amphur and ask what is required to get a yellow book. Depending on what papers you already have it may be easy or a pain in the backside to obtain. In my case I already had a lot of the paperwork as I'm married to a Thai and she (we) own the house we live in. How Do I Get A Yellow House Book? Being Thailand, it probably won’t come as too much of a shock to learn that application requirements for a yellow house book differ wildly from one thesaban or amphoe office to another! So your first task is to check with the local registration authority precisely what paperwork you need to gather; but at the very least, the applicant will have to submit the original as well as photocopies (signed) of the following documents: current passport (containing a valid Thai entry permit) work permit (if any) marriage certificate together with your Thai spouse’s national ID card and own blue house book (if any) lease agreement along with your landlord’s ID and own blue Tabien Baan (if renting the property) existing blue house book (if exchanging) Besides which, it isn’t out of the ordinary for a district or local registration office to request a notarised copy of the personal information page of the applicant’s passport translated into Thai in addition to a number of passport style photographs. And, more than likely, you’ll need to be accompanied by one or two Thai witnesses (each with their own blue house book and national ID card) who’ll be asked to attest to your identity and residential status then undergo an informal interview. For some foreigners, the whole thing is nothing short of a breeze but alas for others, a slow and agonising death by red tape! -
Just more scare stories from the cowardly lions. A few months back I was in a bar talking with a fellow American that just arrived in town for his first visit. He proceeds to tell me about his "terrifying" taxi ride from the airport to Pattaya. He said the driver was speeding and he kept yelling at him to slow down, our conversation went like this; Me: How fast was he going? Him: 100 miler per hour, Me: Really? Him: Yeah, I kept yelling at him to slow down, but he wouldn't Me: How did you know he was going 100 mph? Him: I was looking at the speedometer Me: And the speedometer needle was on 100? Him: Yeah! Me: You know speedometers in Thailand are in kilometers right? Him: (blank stare) Me: 55555

What's up with the drunk Germans these days? I was out with my wife the other night 2 days ago and as we are walking to the restaurant, there's a crowd of Thais and I see they are checking on a unconscious 70 y/o ish farang on the sidewalk. I see he's a foreigner, and I'm a ex-paramedic so I stop and see if I can help. The Thais call for an ambulance and as we're waiting, I try to determine why he's laying on the sidewalk. A few minutes of "Mister, are you ok?" and he rolls over and throws up, he starts to come around just as the medics arrive and he's a mix of belligerent and giddy. Turned out he was a drunk German, he declined the ambulance ride to the hospital and kept asking me if I'd go drink with him. 555, I tell him he's had enough to drink and it's better to go home, problem is he can't walk, the medics call for the police and I continue on with my night.

When I was about 9 y/o, I started to learn how to ride a motorbike. Taught with my fellow 9 y/o olds in my neighborhood. The amount of pussifaction on this thread is both mind blowing and expected from a bunch of old self-righteous crumudgeon farts.

IF your statement was true (which it is not), why do you give a F about it? Who made you the "food delivery app" police? Get a life.

Why would Thai banks pay winning lottery tickets? What's in it for them?

So long as you choose the "Long term stay in Thailand" and if by chance the transfer comes from a partner bank, you can still get proof it was in international transfer. In my case, a long time ago (before asking Wise to tag my transfers) the transfer into my Bangkok Bank came from Kasikorn, I had to go to a special branch of Kasikorn, specifically one of their "International Trade Service Center" with my passport, my Bangkok Bank book, my Wise details of the transfer, paid a couple 100b and they gave me proof it was an international transfer and my IO was satisfied. A handyman who wants to charge 2000 baht for a "survey fee"
bbko replied to Nickcage49's topic in DIY Forum
Wouldn't it depend on how detailed/size of the job the potential customer wanted the estimate? I mean if the request for a small job like "how much to paint my living room?", I understand, but if the request was for a large job like "how much to addon another room to my house?", then I can see the need for charging a fee. I didn't see where the OP mentioned the size of the request, which only adds to the disagreement/confusion among posters. -
I know right? The amount of Thai bashing on AN is at an all time high.

If transferring for visa requirement then always choose the "Long term stay in Thailand" reason AND it doesn't hurt to contact Wise and ask them to send to your bank only and not some partner bank, in my case Bangkok Bank). Many many months ago I sent Wise a email with the following + their response, no problems since. "Hello, I'm a US citizen living in Thailand and was wondering how can I add a tag so my future THB transfers are only routed through Bangkok Bank?" "Thanks for reaching out and apologies for the late reply.I have added the necessary tags for your future THB transfers to be routed through Bangkok Bank.Do note however that this has been applied only to your existing THB recipients- so if you would like this to be applied to a different THB account in the future, do reach out again to us and we'll be more than happy to help you with it again???? I would also like to inform that though we try to always route with your preferred payment partner, this tagging does not work 100% of the time as sometimes the partner itself has issues with paying out so we end up using another payout partner. Please let me know if you have further queries and I'd be happy to help.Have a lovely weekend. "

How is ordering a pizza any different that ordering a bucket of KFC? Some burgers & fries? So what if it's an order for 4 or and order for 1? The level of self-righteousness of some here is a joke.

I don't have a family doctor, but I do go to the same large clinic (in the states) and they have my medical records, so that help with continuity of care.

Maybe foreigners can not a the bank (as mentioned in the OP), but go to the nearest lottery shop or government lottery office. Foreigners who have won the lottery will need to present their passport, while Thai citizens would need their ID card to claim their prize. There is also a tax fee of 1 Baht for every 200 Baht won. Prizes can be claimed at the nearest lottery shop or at the Government Lottery Office (Sanambin Nam).
